Cage and positioning instrument for a cage positioning system

A surgical cage positioning system for the implantological replacement of an intervertebral disk, in the region of the lumbar spine of humans, has a positioning instrument with a first coupling prong and with a first manipulator prong, each provided with a coupling element. The manipulator prong can be displaced in the axial direction relative to the coupling prong by means of a handle. The cage positioning system has a cage with an insertion opening for the instrumentation segment and with coupling means, via which the coupling elements of the instrumentation segment, each pivotally connected to the cage, can be coupled so that the cage can be pivoted by means of the manipulator prong about an axis of rotation defined by the coupling element of the coupling prong and the coupling means of the cage relative to the longitudinal axis of the positioning instrument.

Intervertebral implant for quadrupeds
11596521 · 2023-03-07 · ·

A low profile intervertebral implant for implantation in an intervertebral disc space between adjacent vertebral bodies of a quadruped. The intervertebral implant includes a plate and a spacer that extends from the plate. The intervertebral implant can define geometries that nest with complementary geometries of the vertebral bodies. Further, the plate can include fixation holes that extend along trajectories such that screws inserted through the fixation holes and driven into the respective vertebral bodies can purchase with dense cortical bone.

Standalone interbody spacer
11633290 · 2023-04-25 · ·

A fastener retention system for a standalone interbody spacer that includes flexible members to configure to rotate from an “unlocked to a “locked” state to cover the screw holes in the interbody space to prevent bone engagement fasteners from backing out.

Expanding interbody implant and method

A device includes a core having proximal and distal ends and defining a first female thread. A drive screw includes first and second ends. The first end includes a first male thread. The second end including a second male thread that engages the first female thread. A first body includes a second female thread that engages the first male thread. A second body is coupled to the drive screw. A first plate is coupled to the core and the first body. The first plate includes a first vertebral engaging surface. A second plate is coupled to the core and includes a second vertebral engaging surface. The drive screw is configured to rotate relative to the core to simultaneously pivot the first plate relative to the core and alter a distance between the first vertebral engaging surface and the second vertebral engaging surface.

Helicoil interference fixation system for attaching a graft ligament to a bone
11628058 · 2023-04-18 · ·

A helicoil interference fixation system comprising: a helicoil comprising a helical body comprising a plurality of turns separated by spaces therebetween, the helical body terminating in a proximal end and a distal end, and at least one internal strut extending between at least two turns of the helical body; and an inserter for turning the helicoil, the inserter comprising at least one groove for receiving the at least one strut; the helicoil being mounted on the inserter such that the at least one strut of the helicoil is mounted in the at least one groove of the inserter, such that rotation of the inserter causes rotation of the helicoil.

Expandable intervertebral implant

An implant for therapeutically separating bones of a joint has two endplates each having an opening through the endplate, and at least one ramped surface on a side opposite a bone engaging side. A frame is slideably connected to the endplates to enable the endplates to move relative to each other at an angle with respect to the longitudinal axis of the implant, in sliding connection with the frame. An actuator screw is rotatably connected to the frame. A carriage forms an open area aligned with the openings in the endplates. The openings in the endplates pass through the carriage to form an unimpeded passage from bone to bone of the joint. The carriage has ramps which mate with the ramped surfaces of the endplates, wherein when the carriage is moved by rotation of the actuator screw, the endplates move closer or farther apart.

VERTEBRAL JOINT IMPLANTS AND DELIVERY TOOLS

A spinal joint distraction system for treating a facet joint including articular surfaces having a contour is disclosed and may include a delivery device including a generally tubular structure adapted to engage a facet joint, an implant adapted to be delivered through the delivery device and into the facet joint, the implant comprising two members arranged in opposed position, and an implant distractor comprising a generally elongate member adapted to advance between the two members of the implant causing separation of the members and distraction of the facet joint, wherein the implant is adapted to conform to the shape of the implant distractor and/or the articular surfaces of the facet upon being delivered to the facet joint. Several embodiments of a system, several embodiments of an implant, and several methods are disclosed including a method for interbody fusion.

EXPANDABLE INTERBODY SPACER

Devices and methods for treating one or more damaged, diseased, or traumatized portions of the spine, including intervertebral discs, to reduce or eliminate associated back pain. In one or more embodiments, the present invention relates to an expandable interbody spacer. The expandable interbody spacer may comprise a first jointed arm comprising a plurality of links pivotally coupled end to end. The expandable interbody spacer further may comprise a second jointed arm comprising a plurality of links pivotally coupled end to end. The first jointed arm and the second jointed arm may be interconnected at a proximal end of the expandable interbody spacer. The first jointed arm and the second jointed arm may be interconnected at a distal end of the expandable interbody spacer.

EXTERNALLY THREADED EXPANDABLE ORTHOPEDIC IMPLANT

An expandable screw for orthopedic insertion and expansion between a collapsed state and an expanded state. The screw has an upper externally-threaded body segment, a lower externally-threaded body segment opposite the upper external thread segments, and an expansion member extending along a longitudinal axis thereof. The expansion member connecting the upper externally-threaded body segment to the lower externally-threaded body segment, and configured during the expansion between the collapsed state and the expanded state to separate the upper externally-threaded body segment from the lower externally-threaded body segment.
