Personalized coronary stents
A method including generating a 3-D model of an unstenosed geometry of a blood vessel responsive to a 3-D model of an actual geometry of the blood vessel, establishing a parametric description of a stent that is expanded from a collapsed configuration to a final configuration that apposes the unstenosed geometry, developing a design for the stent by varying parameters of the parametric description responsive to a design heuristic that includes risk of stent strut breakage during a plastic deformation between the collapsed configuration and the final configuration, embodying the stent according to the design for the stent, inserting the stent into a blood vessel in its collapsed configuration, maneuvering the stent through the blood vessel to a stenosis, and expanding the stent to its final configuration.
Delivery device and method of delivery
A delivery device can provide sequential delivery of a plurality of intraluminal devices held in a compressed state on the delivery device. Delivery platforms on the delivery device can hold an intraluminal device in a compressed position and be positioned between pusher bands that may also be radiopaque markers. A post deployment dilation device can be included. The post deployment dilation device can be a plurality of expansion filaments, a bellows, or a balloon. An intravascular device deployment method can include allowing a self-expanding intravascular device to expand, aligning the post deployment dilation device under the intravascular device, and causing the post deployment dilation device to expand radially to push outward on the intravascular device.
STENTS WITH INCREASED FLEXIBILITY
Stents that are adapted to be balloon-expanded and include a plurality of rings of repeating cells, wherein adjacent rings are connected by s-shaped or omega-shaped crosslink connectors or a combination of both connectors. The configurations, materials, and/or dimensions of these devices, including the unit cells and/or crosslink connectors allow the stents to be expanded to a greater extent (e.g., up to or greater than 12 mm of diameter), and optionally with reduced foreshortening and without increasing the strain on the materials forming the crosslink connectors and unit cells. The biphasic arrangement of trapezoidal unit cells, as well as the configuration and arrangement of the s-shaped connectors, may allow these stents to expand while maintaining their radial compression strength and longitudinal compression strength with minimal recoil and stent foreshortening.
EXPANDABLE DEVICES AND ASSOCIATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Devices, systems, and methods for treating a blood flow passage are disclosed herein. For example, expandable devices of the present technology may comprise a stent having a collapsed configuration for delivery through a delivery device to a treatment site in a body conduit and an expanded configuration. The stent may comprise a plurality of struts and longitudinally extending first and second spines configured to move in opposing axial directions as the stent expands. Each of the struts may extend between and connect one of the first spines and one of the second spines. Moving the first spines axially relative to the second spines may cause the struts to push circumferentially adjacent spines to move away from one another, thereby increasing a diameter of the stent.
APPARATUS, SYSTEM AND METHOD ENABLING MULTIPLEXED ARRANGEMENT OF OPTICAL FIBER FOR SENSING OF OPERATING CONDITIONS WITHIN A STRUCTURAL MEMBER
Embodiments of the present invention provide a unique new approach to generating operating condition information used for assessing flow assurance and structural integrity. More specifically, apparatuses, systems and methods configured in accordance with embodiments of the present invention enable multiplexed arrangement of optical fiber for sensing of operating conditions within a structural member and utilize fiber optic sensors for enabling monitoring of operating condition information within one or more elongated tubular members. To this end, fiber optic sensors are strategically placed at a plurality of locations along a length of each elongated tubular member thereby allowing critical operating conditions such as strain, temperature and pressure of the elongated tubular member and/or a fluid therein to be monitored. A multiplexing unit is used for allowing selective configuration of individual lengths of optical fiber for creating one or more contiguous optical fiber structures.
Uncaging stent
A stent (scaffold) or other luminal prosthesis comprising circumferential structural elements which provide high strength after deployment and allows for scaffold to uncage, and/or allow for scaffold or luminal expansion thereafter. The circumferential scaffold is typically formed from non-degradable material and will be modified to expand and/or uncage after deployment.
EXPANDABLE DEVICES
Expandable devices are disclosed herein. Several of the embodiments are directed towards an expandable device configured to be expanded within a conduit. The expandable device may comprise a tubular sidewall having first portions and second portions. Radial expansion of the expandable device may cause the first portions to bow outwardly and out of radial alignment with the second portions.
Catheter with tapered compliant balloon and tapered stent
A balloon comprising: a center portion having a proximal end, a distal end opposite the proximal end, and a length between the proximal end and the distal end. The center portion comprises: a first nominal diameter and a first radial modulus at the proximal end; a second nominal diameter and a second radial modulus at the distal end; further wherein, the first nominal diameter is equal to the second nominal diameter, such that, when the balloon is inflated to a nominal pressure, the center portion has a constant diameter over the length; and further wherein, the first radial modulus is smaller than the second radial modulus, such that, when the balloon is inflated above a nominal pressure, the center portion adopts a tapered shape in which the proximal end has a first stretched diameter and the distal end has a second stretched diameter, the first stretched diameter being larger than the second stretched diameter.

Vascular stent with a mixed configuration of connectors
This invention provides for a radially expandable stent having superior strength and reduced foreshortening properties. The stents have a mixed configuration of straight and arcuate connector segments that serve to join annular segments that make up the body of the stent. Surprisingly the described mixed configuration provides superior resistance to flip deformation while maintaining desired flexibility.
