Multifunctional orthosis device and method of use
An orthosis device having a substantially rigid thermo-formable substrate having a substrate profile defined by a substrate top edge, an opposite substrate bottom edge, and opposite substrate side edges interconnecting the substrate top and bottom edges, the substrate profile being substantially symmetrical about a centerline thereof, whereby the device becomes moldable when activated by a forming temperature above ambient, and the symmetry of the substrate enables the device to be used in both left hand and right hand applications.
Medical device for joint immobilization
An immobilization sleeve for helping user's heal predetermined joints. The immobilization sleeve includes two open ends at each distal end spaced apart by a plurality of inflatable, semi-rigid passages that extend in a braided, or crisscross, configuration from the base to the top of the sleeve. The sleeve is inserted onto a joint and is made of a resilient material that wraps around the joint of a user.
THERAPEUTIC SPLINT
A therapeutic splint for the treatment of one or more joint areas of a patient. The splint includes longitudinal housings extending along a longitudinal axis (L) and arranged parallel to this longitudinal axis (L); one or more modular cartridges with therapeutic effect suitable for being arranged in the housings according to the joint area (s) to be treated. The splint further includes at least one transverse and/or oblique housing extending along one or more transverse and/or oblique axes (O), respectively, with respect to the longitudinal axis (L) of the splint. The transverse and/or oblique housing is arranged so as to cover an area extending around a joint to be treated. The modular cartridge or cartridges are arranged in the transverse and/or oblique housings according to the joint area(s) to be treated.
ORTHOTIC DEVICE, ORTHOTIC SYSTEM AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURE AND USE THEREOF
An orthotic device for embracing and supporting a body part (e.g., articulation) of a human or animal. The orthotic device is a single sheet of moldable Polylactic Acid (PLA) material configured to maintain the body part in an optimal position for development and treatment. An orthotic system includes the PLA sheet and a protective layer in the form of a single moldable sheet of polyethylene foam (PEF). The PEF sheet is configured for placement between the PLA sheet and the body part.
Wrist brace with enhanced lacing
The present wrist brace includes an advantageous lacing configuration that provides a cast-like compression on a patient's forearm, wrist, and hand. Pulling the lacing mechanism equilibrates lace tension along the length of the wrist brace in a way that applies consistent compression to the patient's forearm and wrist.
FLEXIBLE COMPRESSION APPLYING WEARABLE
A flexible compression applying wearable for a human hand is formed of crossing first and second elastic bands of fabric that are extendible over the back of the hand and have fold-over boundaries at front-to-back continuation edges of the hand. The fold-over boundaries can be positionally adjusted by shifting up and down along the front-to-back continuation edges of the hand so as to thereby apply respective compression forces to different bones and/or joints of the hand as desired. Fastenings of the wearable are preferably confined to interiors of multi-layered constructs so as to not irritate the user's skin.
WRIST GUARD
The present invention relates to a wrist guard and provides a wrist guard that does not pressurize the entire wrist portion but allows for pressurizing only the radius portion and the ulna portion, thereby not only performing a wrist protection function in a stable manner, but also not hindering blood circulation since other portions of the wrist are not pressurized, and thus may be conveniently used since side-effects such as hand numbness or hand swelling do not occur even when wearing same for a long period, and the position and thickness of a pressurizing pad for pressurizing the radius portion and the ulna portion of the wrist may be adjusted according to the needs of a user, and thus the wrist guard may be more conveniently used since same may be altered into an optimal state according to physical conditions of the user or environmental conditions.
CARPOMETACARPAL THUMB BRACE
A brace for a carpometacarpal joint of a thumb includes a body made of an elastomeric material. The body includes a wrist strap configured to surround a wrist, a dorsal projection extending from the wrist strap, a first palmar strap extending between a proximal end connected to the wrist strap and a distal end configured to removably attach to the dorsal projection, and a second palmar strap extending between a proximal end connected to the wrist strap and a distal end configured to removably attach to the dorsal projection. The brace also includes a heat-moldable insert positioned within the body. The heat-moldable insert is configured so as to be positioned over a CMC joint of the thumb.
Multi-function brace
A brace may include a body portion and a finger portion. The body portion may include a first flexible sheet configured to receive at least portions of a user's wrist and hand and may restrict movement of the wrist. The finger portion may include a second flexible sheet and a rigid stabilizing member. The finger portion may be configured to receive at least one of the user's fingers and may restrict movement of the at least one finger relative to the wrist and hand. Further, the body portion be configured to releasably receive the finger portion.
MOVEMENT RESTRAINING DEVICE
Movement restraining device (1) for partially immobilizing a body joint (10). The device comprises stopper elements (50, 60) having an abutment surface (100) and an abutting surface (70). One stopper element is pivotable, relative to the other stopper element. The device further has skin attachment means (90, 120) for attaching the stopper elements to skin. The abutment surfaces are arranged or shaped such that, in an abutting pivot position, they prevent pivoting in a first pivot direction (150), while allowing pivoting in a second pivot direction (160), opposite to the first pivot direction.
