Dial-down mechanism for wind-up pen
The invention relates to a torsion spring driven injection device having a dial-down mechanism for dialling down a selected dose size. The torsion spring (2) is strained when setting a dose by rotating a proximally located dose setting button(30) relatively to the housing in a first direction and unstained when rotating the same dose setting button (30) in a second direction opposite the first direction. In order to secure the torsion spring (2) in its strained position a one-way ratchet mechanism is provided. This one-way ratchet mechanism comprises a fixation element (1) coupled to the housing and having a toothing (6) and a ratchet element (20) having at least one ratchet arm (22) engaging the fixation element (1) and which ratchet element (20) is operational coupled to the dose setting button (30). The dose setting button (30) directly engages the at least one ratchet arm (22) when the dose setting button (30) is rotated in the second direction which releases the at least one ratchet arm (22) from the toothing (6) of the fixation element (1) and allows the ratchet element (20) to rotate relatively to the fixation element (1) in the second direction under influence of the torsion spring (2).
Pen-type injector
A pen-type injector is improved so that a user may select a delivery dose of a medicinal product from a multidose cartridge. The injector includes a housing, a cartridge containing the medicinal product retained within the housing, a piston rod, a dose selecting member to select the dose of medicinal product to be expelled, and a drive member to expel the selected dose of the medicinal product. The housing is formed unitary so that the dose selecting member and the drive member are moveably retained within the housing. The injector may include a ratchet associated with an insert to ensure the piston rod only rotates in a single direction through the insert, a button located on the drive member, and a clutch which upon depression of the button prevents rotation between the dose selecting member and the drive member.
INJECTION DEVICE WITH FLEXIBLE DOSE SELECTION
An injection device incorporating a dose setting mechanism is presented where the dose setting mechanism contains a dose selector having one or more dose stops corresponding to a finite set of predetermined fixed doses, where the set of finite predetermined fixed doses includes a lowest fixed dose and one or more higher fixed doses, and where at least one of the one or more higher fixed doses is equal to the lowest fixed dose plus a fractional amount of the lowest fixed dose. The dose setting mechanism can further include a floating spline that is rotationally engaged with a snap element such that the snap element can rotate relative to the floating spline during both dose setting and dose delivery.
Dispensing mechanism for a medical device
A dispensing mechanism for administering a dosage of a medicament includes dosage setting means (7) for setting the dosage of a medicament to be administered; expelling means (15) for expelling a medicament from a medicament container; and coupling means (21) operatively coupled with the dosage setting means (7) and the expelling means (15), wherein the coupling means (21) is arranged to convert displacement of the dosage setting means (7) into a displacement of the expelling means (15) in a first direction, wherein the expelling means (15) includes a ratchet means (18a, 18b), and wherein the mechanism includes a first and a second independently moveable resisting pawl (14a, 14b) means facing a common side of the ratchet means (18), the first and the second resisting pawl means (14a, 14b) being configured to engage with the ratchet means (18a, 18b) and resist displacement of the expelling means (15) in a second direction opposite to said first direction.
Pen injector apparatus
A pen injector apparatus is disclosed for use with a cartridge to deliver a plurality of single metered doses therefrom. The injector apparatus includes a body arranged to provide a conduit which, in use, provides a fluid communication path between the cartridge and a delivery needle and a mechanism arranged to expel therapeutic material from the cartridge. The mechanism is arranged to draw therapeutic material from the cartridge into the conduit by negative pressure and discharge a metered dose from the conduit via the delivery needle.
Supplemental device for attachment to an injection device
A supplemental device for attachment to an injection device including a dosage window covering a sleeve on which dose values are marked is provided. The supplemental device comprises: a main body; an arrangement for supporting the main body of the supplemental device in a predetermined positional relationship with the injection device; a transparent protection window located at a surface of the main body that is aligned with the dosage window of the injection pen when in use; and a sensor arrangement supported in the main body and having a sensor directed at the protection window. The protection window has an optical power. The protection window may be a cylindrical lens or a toric lens.
Automatic injection device with a top release mechanism
The present invention relates to a handheld mechanical injection device by which set doses of a liquid medicament can be injected from a medical reservoir. The medicament is expelled through an injection needle by release of a power reservoir in the device, the power reservoir being fully or partially released by actuation of a user operable release member being positioned at or near an upper end of the injection device, the upper end being that end of the injection device which is opposite the injection needle.
Medicament delivery device
Provided is a medicament delivery device (100) comprising a tubular housing (110), having a proximal end (111) and an opposite distal end (112), an actuator means (119, 120), slidably and coaxially arranged inside the tubular housing (110) wherein is provided an inter-locking mechanism (119, 413) between the a cap (410) and the housing (110), enabling the cap (410) to freely spin, i.e. it is impossible to open the cap (410), until the medicament delivery device (100) has been properly activated by an activator means (160).
Injection device with dose indicator and spring drive
A driving and dosing device for an injection device for administering a liquid product, in particular a medication, wherein a product dose to be administered can be set by means of the driving and dosing device, comprising: a) a housing, b) a dose indicating element, around the circumference of which a dose scale is arranged, c) a pointing device and a (d) dosing element that can be gripped in particular by the user of the driving and dosing device, wherein the dose indicating element can be rotated, in particular screwed, relative to the pointing device and about an axis of rotation (L) and a value of the dose scale that corresponds to the set dose can be read by means of the pointing device, in order to set the dose to be administered by rotating the dosing element relative to the pointing device, and e); a discharge spring, which stores the energy required for discharging the product, wherein the discharge spring is loaded by means of rotation of the dosing element.
