A TORSION SPRING DRIVEN INJECTION DEVICE

The invention relates to a torsion spring driven injection device for ejecting set doses of a liquid drug. In a first aspect the torsion spring driven injection device is provided with a blocking structure which is operated by the rotatable display element such that the set dose can only be expelled when a certain minimum dose size has been set. In a second aspect the torsion spring driven injection device is provided with a release mechanism which secures that the set dose can only be expelled as one single full dose in one stroke. The two aspects can easily be combined such that the predetermined minimum dose size most be expelled as one single dose.

Drug delivery device with end-of-dose trigger arrangement

A drug delivery device comprising a rotatable scale drum, a trigger member, an actuation member, a trigger spring acting on the trigger member and being energized by movement of the actuation member, as well as an end-of-dose switch adapted to be actuated by movement of the trigger member. The trigger member is adapted to be arranged in an axially supported position against the action of the energized trigger spring, and released from the axially supported position when the scale drum is rotated from a set position to an end-of-dose position, whereby the trigger member is moved axially by the trigger spring, the end-of-dose switch thereby being actuated.

Drive mechanisms suitable for use in drug delivery devices

A drive mechanism suitable for use in drug delivery devices is disclosed. The drive mechanism may be used with injector-type drug delivery devices, such as those permitting a user to set the delivery dose. The drive mechanism may include a housing, a dose dial sleeve, and a drive sleeve. A clutch is configured to permit rotation of the drive sleeve and the dose dial sleeve with respect to the housing when the dose dial sleeve and drive sleeve are coupled through the clutch. Conversely, when the dose dial sleeve and drive sleeve are in a de-coupled state, rotation of the dose dial sleeve with respect to the housing is permitted and rotation of the drive sleeve with respect to the housing is prevented. In the de-coupled state, axial movement of the drive sleeve transfers force in a longitudinal direction for actuation of a drug delivery device.

DOSE DETECTION WITH PIEZOELECTRIC SENSING FOR A MEDICATION DELIVERY DEVICE
20210369971 · 2021-12-02 ·

The present disclosure relates to a medication delivery device having a dose detection system and an associated control system configured to determine an amount of medication delivered from the medication delivery device based on the sensing of relative rotation within the medication delivery device. The relative rotation may occur between a dose setting member and an actuator and/or housing of the medication delivery device. The rotation sensing may involve piezoelectric sensing, more specifically repeatedly deforming a piezoelectric sensor with a mechanical force. The dose detection system may be a modular or integral component of the medication delivery device.

MEDICAL DELIVERY DEVICE WITH AXIALLY EXPANDABLE DRIVE RIBBON

A medication delivery device usable with a medication container wherein advancement of a piston within the container expels medication. The device includes a housing and a drive assembly. The drive assembly includes a drive ribbon having distal and proximal edge sections. The drive ribbon has a retracted configuration defining a spiral and an extended configuration defining a helix. The drive ribbon is movable from the retracted configuration to the extended configuration with such movement defining a drive axis and advancing the piston. In some embodiments, the drive ribbon may not rotate as it is advanced while in other embodiments, the ribbon does rotate. The disclosed drive assemblies include manually driven assemblies, spring driven assemblies and motor driven assemblies. The containers may be replaceable to allow for reuse of the device. In some embodiments, replaceable cartridges which includes both a medication container and a drive ribbon are employed.
