DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE
Drug delivery devices and related arrangements are disclosed. A drug delivery device may include a housing having an opening, a drug storage container including a delivery member with an insertion end configured to extend at least partially through the opening, and a plunger. A drive mechanism may be included for driving the plunger in a distal direction to expel a drug from the drug storage container through the delivery member upon activation. The drug delivery device may additionally include a guard moveably disposed adjacent to the opening and operably coupled to the drive mechanism for activation of the drive mechanism. A lock may be selectively engageable with the guard to limit movement of the guard in the proximal direction. An indicator may be coupled to the drive mechanism to generate an audible signal during drug delivery, and to cease generating the audible signal when drug delivery is complete.
SYRINGE DEVICE
A syringe device includes a barrel and a compressible portion is connected to one end of the barrel. A positioning board is located between the barrel and the compressible portion. The positioning board has a hole defined therethrough. A seat is formed to the underside of the positioning board and has a recess and multiple guide grooves which communicate with the recess. A hold part is connected to the distal end of the compressible portion and has a penetrating face. Two flanges respectively extend diametrically from the hold part. A needle is connected to the positioning board and communicates with the recess. The tip of the needle is located within the compressible portion and beneath the penetrating face. By axially compressing the compressible portion and the barrel, the needle penetrates through the penetrating face and extends beyond the hole to eject medicine to the patient.
AUTOMATIC-LOCKING SAFETY NEEDLE COVERS AND METHODS OF USE AND MANUFACTURE
A single-use needle cover configured to obscure, protect, or hide at least a portion of a needle from view before, during, and/or after an injection and/or aspiration procedure is disclosed. In some embodiments, the cover includes a housing at least partially containing the needle and configured to couple to a syringe, wherein the housing includes an axis and a guide member. In some embodiments, a sleeve has a plurality of tracks configured to slidingly receive the guide member, wherein the sleeve is configured to retract, extend, and rotate with respect to the housing. In some embodiments, after the sleeve has been retracted and extended one time, a first locking member inhibits further retraction of the sleeve and a second locking member inhibits rotation of the sleeve.
Drug delivery device
A drug delivery device for setting and dispensing a dose of a drug is presented having a support body having a first end defining a first opening and a second end defining a second opening and a centered outer indicator ring. A syringe barrel sealed by a stopper is slidably diposed therein along an axial direction and adapted to have an integrated needle or to be coupled with a needle assembly, wherein the syringe barrel is positioned within the support body. A needle shield is adapted to be coupled to one of the ends of the support body and slidably disposed thereon. An outer body is adapted to be coupled to the other end of the support body and slidably disposed thereon, wherein the outer indicator ring limits the movement of the outer body as well as of the needle shield.
Autoinjector
A detent mechanism for controlling translation between two components in a longitudinal direction includes a resilient beam on one of the components and a rhomboid ramp member on the other component. The resilient beam is essentially straight when relaxed and has a first beam head and is arranged to interact in a ramped engagement with respectively one of two ramps. Each ramp is on one longitudinal side of the rhomboid ramp member such that application of a translative force between the components in one longitudinal direction with the first beam head engaged to one of the ramps in a first state deflects the resilient beam in one transversal direction and such that application of a translative force between the components in the other longitudinal direction with the first beam head engaged to the other one of the ramps deflects the resilient beam in the other transversal direction.
Drug delivery device with feedback mechanism
The disclosure relates to a drug delivery device comprising: a case adapted to hold a medicament container, a plunger disposed within the case and slidable from a proximal position into a distal position for delivering a medicament from the medicament container, at least one feedback mechanism that is in operative connection with the plunger, the feedback mechanism comprising a collar, a control spring biasing the collar in a distal direction, a needle shroud, operatively axially abutting the collar in a first coupled state and prevented from axially decoupling the collar by the plunger in its proximal position, wherein the plunger, when approaching the distal position during movement from the proximal position towards the distal position, is adapted to allow axial decoupling of the needle shroud from the collar, thus allowing for a limited axial movement of the collar relative to the needle shroud until the collar axially abuts the needle shroud in a second coupled state.
Injection device with syringe carrier lock
An autoinjector device is disclosed which comprises a body portion and a syringe carrier, for supporting a syringe with a needle at its forward end. The syringe carrier is moveably mounted within the housing such that forward movement relative to the housing may extend the needle from a forward end of the body. The syringe carrier has a latch element arranged to cooperate with a corresponding retention feature of the body portion to releasably hold the syringe carrier in a rearward position within the body potion. A delivery mechanism is arranged to forwardly displace the syringe carrier relative to the housing and to deliver a dose of medicament from the syringe. A shroud assembly is provided at a forward end of the device. The shroud further comprises a locking arrangement which blocks releasing movement of the latch element from the retention feature when the shroud is in a first, forward position and is unlocked when the shroud is in a second, rearward position.
MECHANISM FOR REDUCING RISK OF DRUG CONTAMINATION
The present invention provides a drug delivery system (1) comprising a drug delivery device (2, 3) carrying at least one reservoir (40a, 40b), and a needle unit (4) being attachable to the drug delivery device (2, 3) in axial extension thereof and adapted to establish a flow way between the at least one reservoir (40a, 40b) and a drug delivery site. The needle unit (4) comprises a needle structure (11) comprising a front needle portion (12) for entering the drug delivery site, and at least one back needle portion (13a, 13b) for insertion into the at least one reservoir (40a, 40b), and a needle shield (20). The needle shield (20) and the needle structure (11) are capable of undergoing relative axial motion between an accommodating relative position in which the needle structure (11) is completely accommodated within the needle shield (20) and a protruding relative position in which the front needle portion (12) protrudes from the needle shield (20), the needle shield (20) and the needle structure (11) being biased towards the accommodating relative position by a first bias force. When the needle unit (4) is attached to the drug delivery device (2, 3) the needle structure (11) and the at least one reservoir (40a, 40b) are capable of undergoing relative axial motion between a disconnected relative position in which the at least one back needle portion (13a, 13b) is spaced apart from the at least one reservoir (40a, 40b), and a connected relative position in which the at least one back needle portion (13a, 13b) and the at least one reservoir (40a, 40b) are fluidly connected, the needle structure (11) and the at least one reservoir (40a, 40b) being biased towards the disconnected relative position by a second bias force which is greater than the first bias force.
Drug delivery device with controlled needle shield and cover sleeve
A drug delivery device includes an inner body adapted to receive a pre-filled syringe with an injection needle, one or more flexible arms on the inner body extending in a distal direction, and one or more support members slidably arranged to operatively outwardly support the flexible arms. The flexible arms have respective inwardly directed protrusions adapted to engage a neck of the syringe. When the support member is in a distal position, it does not support the flexible arms. When the support member is in a proximal position, the support member supports the flexible arms and prevents them from being outwardly deflected.
