Needle assembly
A needle assembly is disclosed, which includes a needle protection member and a rotor. The rotor has a rotor body and a restriction portion. When the needle protection member in the initial state is displaced from the protection position to a use position and returns to a protection position, the restriction portion is displaced from the initial position to the lock position by the rotation of the rotor body with respect to the needle protection member. A needle hub has a displacement prevention portion that prevents the needle protection member from being displaced from the protection position to the use position again by contacting the restriction portion at the lock position.
Safety Injection Device
An injection device for injecting a substance into a body, including: a barrel provided with the substance a stopper in sliding engagement inside the barrel and an injection needle; a plunger rod coupled to the stopper and moveable in order to inject the substance, a locking clip fixed relative to the barrel and provided with at least two jaws engaging the plunger rod so as to prevent an injection movement of the plunger rod with regard to the barrel, and a needle shield including a triggering portion, the needle shield being configured in sliding engagement with respect to the injection needle, where the triggering portion is configured to open the locking clip when the needle shield moves from an initial position to a retracted position.
Needle assembly
A needle assembly is disclosed, for use with an injection device. The needle assembly comprises a needle hub (20) having a needle (22) and a needle shield (40) arranged for relative axial movement with respect to the needle hub, between a retracted position in which the tip of the needle projects beyond a forward end of the shield and an extended position in which the tip of the needle does not project beyond the forward end of the shield. The needle shield (40) is axially biased towards the extended position. The needle shield (40) is further arranged to be torsionally biased for relative rotational movement with respect to the needle hub (20).
INJECTOR DEVICE
An injector device includes a housing for receiving a medicament cartridge; a needle unit comprising a needle; and a first sleeve slideable along a longitudinal axis of the housing from a first position, in which the first sleeve conceals the needle, to a second position, in which the needle is exposed from an end of the first sleeve, the first sleeve configured to engage the needle unit so that, during use, movement of the first sleeve from the first position to the second position moves the needle unit from a primary position to a secondary position, in which secondary position the needle unit locates over an end of a medicament cartridge, wherein the device further comprises a second sleeve arranged to move telescopically with respect to the first sleeve, the first sleeve extending from the second sleeve when the first sleeve is in the first position.
Drug delivery device with a cap
A needle assembly for use with a drug delivery device comprises a cap releasably secured to the drug delivery device and a blocking member. The blocking member comprises a disinfectant swab and a user graspable portion. The blocking member is configured to be physically moved with respect to the needle assembly by a user. The needle assembly is configured such that in an initial position, the blocking member blocks the cap from being removed from the drug delivery device and movement of the blocking member from the initial position causes the disinfectant swab to contact a septum of a cartridge retained within the drug delivery device.
Auto-injector
An auto-injector includes a chassis and a carrier subassembly. The carrier subassembly includes a carrier arranged inside a case, a drive spring, a plunger comprising a ramp member, the plunger configured to be pushed in a proximal direction by the drive spring, and a ramp attached to the carrier, wherein the ramp member on the plunger in an initial state is locked to the ramp on the carrier to form a ramped engagement to the carrier, the plunger prevented from rotating out of the ramped engagement depending on a relative longitudinal position of the carrier relative to the chassis, wherein the plunger is arranged to be released and to rotate out of the ramped engagement upon the carrier translating a pre-defined distance in a proximal direction relative to the chassis.
Safety syringe
An apparatus for use with a syringe for providing a safety syringe, the safety syringe including a plunger configured during an inward stroke to expel a substance from a hypodermic needle attached at an open end of a barrel of the syringe, the apparatus including: a biasing member configured to bias a sheath towards a closed position at least partially covering the hypodermic needle, wherein the biasing member is configured to be released at a point on the inward stroke of the plunger to urge the sheath towards the closed position.
Passive Safety Device, Injection Device Comprising the Same, and Method for Manufacturing Said Injection Device
The passive safety device comprises a sleeve having a proximal end configured to be secured to a distal tip of the injection device, a hub slidably mounted onto the sleeve between a pre-use position, an injection position wherein the hub is proximally located with regard to the pre-use position, and a safety position wherein the hub is distally located with regard to the injection position, a biasing element configured to urge the hub distally towards the safety position, and a protector configured to slide together with the hub relative to the sleeve between the pre-use position and the injection position. The safety device further comprises first blocking means configured to block a distal movement of the protector when the hub is in the injection position so that the protector is prevented from sliding back together with the hub in a distal direction.
Compact injector systems and methods
Devices and methods for a compact injector are provided with a compact configuration for ease of carrying or storage, and an activated configuration ready for injection. In the compact configuration, a plunger and a needle are both retracted into the injector housing, and upon actuation to the activated configuration, the plunger extends proximally and the needle extends distally, ready for injection. An extendable needle shield is also provided to block visibility of the needle during injection, and to reduce the risk of inadvertent needle stick at other times, including disposal.
AUTO-INJECTOR
An auto-injector for administering a dose of a liquid medicament includes an elongate tubular case and a carrier subassembly including a tubular carrier slidably arranged inside the case. The carrier is adapted to contain a syringe with a hollow injection needle, a drive spring, and a plunger for forwarding load of the drive spring to a stopper of the syringe, wherein the syringe is lockable for joint axial translation with the carrier, wherein the drive spring acts between the carrier and the plunger, wherein the plunger, in an initial state, is locked to the carrier by a ramped engagement to the carrier and by being prevented from rotating out of this ramped engagement, depending on a relative longitudinal position of the carrier in the case, and wherein the plunger is arranged to be released for rotating out of the ramped engagement.
