NEEDLE ASSEMBLY
A needle assembly is disclosed, for use with an injection device. The needle assembly comprises a needle hub (20) having a needle (22) and a needle shield (40) arranged for relative axial movement with respect to the needle hub, between a retracted position in which the tip of the needle projects beyond a forward end of the shield and an extended position in which the tip of the needle does not project beyond the forward end of the shield. The needle shield (40) is axially biased towards the extended position. The needle shield (40) is further arranged to be torsionally biased for relative rotational movement with respect to the needle hub (20).
PEN NEEDLE APPARATUS
A pen needle apparatus includes a housing (32), a movable gripping mechanism (34) for gripping a pen needle assembly (18), and an actuator (36). The gripping mechanism (34) includes first and second pivoting arms (44) that pivot between a first closed position and a second open position. In the closed position, the arms engage and grip the outer cover (22) of the pen needle assembly (18) so that the needle hub (16) can be separated from the outer cover (22) and the pen needle placed back in the outer cover (22) after use of the pen needle. The actuator (36) is connected to the arms (44) where movement of the actuator pivots the arms to a second open position to release the outer cover of the pen needle assembly. The arms include a gripping surface for engaging the inner shield (24) of the pen needle assembly to assist in removing the inner shield (24) from the needle hub (16).
Auto-Injector with Pivoting Trigger
A resettable and reusable auto-injector with a trigger having a pivot axis dividing an elongate body into distal and proximal portions. The proximal portion has a finger surface on an upper section and a bearing surface projecting downwardly configured to engage a button blocker to function as a safety feature to prevent premature firing of the auto-injector before a needle hider is pressed against an injection site.
DRUG INJECTION DEVICE WITH VISUAL AND AUDIO INDICATORS
A drug injection device (10) including a housing (12) for holding a container (20) having a needle (24) for penetrating skin and a plunger (42) for expelling a drug stored in the container. The device includes visual and/or audible indicators for indicating that the correct depth of needle penetration has been achieved and that drug injection/extrusion has been started and/or completed. The device may further include a label (140) for visually confirming the quality of the drug contained therein. Alternatively, a tray (110) may be provided for receiving the drug injection device, which allows the quality of the drug contained therein to be visually confirmed.
Disposable Safe Vein Transfusion Puncture Needle
A disposable safe vein transfusion puncture needle comprising a needle head (4), a needle base (3), a needle sheath sleeved on the needle head (4), and a hose (6) communicated with the needle base (3), and further comprising a plurality of slidable components (1, 2) and a plurality of limiting mechanisms (11, 12, 13, 21, 31, 32), wherein the needle base (3) is in a tubular shape, with one end stationary and communicated with the needle head (4) and the other end connected to the hose (6); each of the slidable components (1, 2) is in a tubular shape and has two open ends, the plurality of slidable components (1, 2) are sleeved on one another, the innermost slidable component (1) is movably sleeved onto the needle base (3), and a sum of lengths of the plurality of slidable components (1, 2) in a moving direction is longer than the length of the needle head (4); the limiting mechanisms (11, 12, 13, 21, 31, 32) are disposed on the plurality of slidable components (1, 2) as well as on the needle base (3). By providing a plurality of slidable components (1, 2) sleeved on the needle base (3) in a layered manner, the operating portion length of the disposable safe vein transfusion puncture needle is made shorter, and by unfolding the slidable components (1, 2) layer by layer so as to shield the needle head (4) during use and after use, the safety level is increased and the pain suffered by the patient is alleviated.
Safety device for a pre-filled syringe and an injection device
According to the invention, a safety device for a pre-filled syringe with an injection needle comprises of a support body adapted to mount the pre-filled syringe, a needle shield slidably arranged with respect to the support body, a retention and locking means (M) for retaining and locking the needle shield with respect to the support body in a first and a second advanced position (PA1, PA2) and in a retracted position (PR). The needle shield comprises an annular flange adapted to rest on the skin of the patient receiving an injection. The retention and locking means (M) are arranged at a distal end of the safety device.
Body arrangement for a drug delivery device
The present disclosure relates to a body arrangement for a drug delivery device, comprising at least one deployable body part arranged to be moved from a compact state into a deployed state, wherein the body part in the deployed state provides an enlarged grip area compared to the compact state.
Hollow needle and pivotable hub system
A needling system, for use in areas where thin hollow needles are used to inject or aspirate fluids and gases, is provided and comprises a thin, rigid tube body needle that is open on both ends and throughout the length with one sharp end. The needle body and hub are designed such that the needle has a ball end that fits within a socket of the hub, forming a seal and allowing the needle to be oriented non-colinearly and non-parallel to the central axis of the hub. Needle orientation, relative to the hub, can be limited from a conical volume to a planar or multi planar angular orientations. The needle so configured allows the user to circumvent an obstacle that otherwise inhibits direct linear access to a point-of-interest by providing a device that can fit around or between obstructions providing optimal direct path towards the desired therapy delivery point.
Torsion Spring Driven Injection Device
The present invention relates to a torsion spring driven injection device for delivering set doses of a liquid drug. The injection device mechanism is encapsulated in a housing which also stores the cartridge containing the liquid drug. A needle cannula which is in liquid communication with the interior of the cartridge and which has a distal tip is shielded by a telescopically movable needle shield is used to inject the set dose. The needle cannula is preferably used for multiple injections and cleaned between subsequent injections. The drive mechanism further comprises a nut member engaging the piston rod and releasable coupled to the housing to operate as a pressure relief mechanism. The telescopically movable needle shield covering the distal tip of the needle cannula is formed to lock the nut member to the housing during injection.
Drive Mechanism for an Injection Device
The invention relates to an injection device for self-administration of doses of a liquid drug. The injection device carries a needle cannula (15) which is concealed by a telescopically movable shield (20). Further a stopping means (30) interconnects the shield with the helical rotatable scale sleeve (25) such that the shield can only be operated proximally when the scale sleeve is rotated away from its zero position. Once the scale sleeve returns to its zero position during expelling of the dose, the shield and the stopping means is allowed to slide distally and thus return to the locked position.
