20220126024 · 2022-04-28 ·

According to the invention, a safety device for a pre-filled syringe with an injection needle comprises of a support body adapted to mount the pre-filled syringe, a needle shield slidably arranged with respect to the support body, a retention and locking means (M) for retaining and locking the needle shield with respect to the support body in a first and a second advanced position (PA1, PA2) and in a retracted position (PR). The needle shield comprises an annular flange adapted to rest on the skin of the patient receiving an injection. The retention and locking means (M) are arranged at a distal end of the safety device.

Medicinal fluid delivery devices and associates methods for advancing and retracting needles

Medicinal fluid delivery devices and methods for advancing and retracting needles are disclosed. According to an aspect, a medicinal fluid delivery device includes a tube that defines an interior space that extends between a first and second openings. The device includes a needle including a proximal end and a distal end that substantially align in a first direction. A portion of the distal end is biased to extend in a second direction different than the first direction. A mechanism is attached to the proximal end and configured to position the distal end between a first position and a second position. In the first position, the portion of the distal end is constrained by the interior wall such that is does not extend in the second direction. In the second position, the distal end is not constrained by the interior wall such that it extends in the second direction.

Self-retracting mechanized syringe and methods of use

A self-retracting syringe has an injection assembly and a retraction assembly. The injection assembly has a housing, a spring rest, and a spring that is restrained initially in compression between the housing and the spring rest. A plunger rod is disposed inside the coil of the spring. A coupler in contact with the spring rest and the plunger rod releasably couples the plunger rod to the spring rest. When a latch is released, the plunger rod moves distally to urge a seal forward, which seal movement causes a hypodermic needle to extend and a medicament to be expelled through the hypodermic needle. A retraction assembly returns the hypodermic needle into the syringe body after the medicament is expelled. Embodiments of retraction assembly provide a port through which fluid may be introduced into the syringe through said hypodermic needle. Methods for filling the syringe are also described.

PRE-FILLED MULTI-FLUID MEDICAL DELIVERY ASSEMBLIES
20230241328 · 2023-08-03 ·

A pre-filled medical delivery system can have a blow-fill-seal (BFS) module and a mixing assembly. The BFS module can have first and second chambers, first and second sealed ports, and first and second actuation members. Each chamber can have a respective liquid agent therein. Each sealed port and each actuation member can be in fluid communication with a respective one of the chambers. The mixing assembly can be constructed for coupling to the BFS module. When coupled to the BFS module, the mixing assembly can breach the seals of the first and second ports and provide fluid communication therebetween. The disclosed systems, when assembled, can combine the liquid agents from the first and second chambers of the BFS component and deliver the combination as a single dose of a therapeutic agent (e.g., vaccine, drug, medicament, etc.) to a patient.

Safety device for a pre-filled injection syringe

A safety device for an injection syringe including a syringe support, a protective sheath for protecting an injection needle carried by the injection syringe, the protective sheath being mounted to slide relative to the syringe support between an injection position in which the needle is uncovered, and a protection position in which the needle is covered, the protective sheath having an initial grip surface enabling the device to be gripped by a user, the initial grip surface being a projection that extends outward from the protective sheath, and a return spring for urging the sheath into the protection position. The sheath also includes an extender member for extending the initial grip surface, being a separate piece from the protective sheath, attached to the protective sheath in such a manner as to present an enlarged grip surface, larger than the initial grip surface.

Needle guard

A needle set includes a needle guard and a winged needle. The needle guard has upper and lower jaws, each of the upper and lower jaws defining a channel and coming together at a hinge. The upper and lower jaws are separated by slots in sides of the needle guard, which slots divide the sides into upper and lower side walls, respectively. The winged needle can be inserted between the upper and lower jaws, with wings of the winged needle passing through the slots. The hinge has an opening and a tube connected to the winged needle passes through the opening.
