Administration System, Delivery Device, and Notification Device for Communicating Status of a Medical Device
An administration system for delivery of a pharmaceutical composition to a patient has a delivery device configured to deliver a dose of the pharmaceutical composition to the patient and a notification device in communication with the delivery device. The notification device is configured to communicate information about a status of at least one property of the delivery device. The delivery device can be a wearable automatic injector configured to be worn on the patient's skin. The delivery device of the present disclosure may allow a user or the patient to view a status of a container. For example, the delivery device of the present disclosure may provide a simple and effective visual means of displaying fill confirmation and delivery confirmation.
Syringe
The present invention suppresses the amount of fluid pushed out from an injection needle when confirming whether air has been pushed out of the injection needle. Provided is a syringe that comprises: a cylinder 20; an injection needle 22; a needle base 24; an injection needle cover 26; and a plunger rod 28. The needle base 24 communicates between the inside of the cylinder 20 and the inside of the injection needle 22. The injection needle cover 26, when extended from a folded state, surrounds the injection needle 22. The injection needle cover 26 comprises an injection needle surrounding part. The injection needle surrounding part has at least one cutout 130 in a section facing the needle base 24 and covering the needle base, such that the needle base 24 can be identified from the outside.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS TO IMPROVE INSTRUMENT GUIDANCE WITHIN AN INTRAVENOUS CATHETER ASSEMBLY
A system for facilitating instrument delivery through a peripheral intravenous catheter (“PIVC”) may include a catheter assembly having a catheter adapter, an extension tube extending from a side port of the catheter adapter, a septum disposed in a lumen of the catheter adapter, and a PIVC extending distally from the catheter adapter. The septum may include a first piece and a second piece and may be least partially disposed within a canister. The system may include an extension set, which may include a distal end and a proximal end. The distal end may include a distal connector and a rigid tube. The proximal end may include a proximal connector. The distal connector may be coupled to the proximal end of the catheter adapter. The rigid tube may penetrate the septum in response to the distal connector being coupled to the proximal end of the catheter adapter.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS TO IMPROVE INSTRUMENT GUIDANCE WITHIN AN INTRAVENOUS CATHETER ASSEMBLY
A catheter assembly and/or an introducer may include one or more features configured to guide a probe and/or a catheter distally through a septum. The catheter assembly may include a catheter adapter and the septum. The catheter adapter may include a distal end, a proximal end, and a lumen extending therebetween. In some embodiments, the septum may be disposed within the lumen. The septum may include a proximal surface that is tapered inwardly in a distal direction such that the proximal surface of the septum is configured to guide the probe and/or the catheter distally through the septum. The catheter assembly may be configured to receive an introducer, which may include an introducer element. A proximal end of the introducer element may include another proximal surface that is tapered inwardly in the distal direction such that the other proximal surface is configured to guide the probe or the catheter distally through the septum.
PASSIVE SAFETY NEEDLE SHIELD
A passive safety needle shield is provided. The needle shield comprises a base fixed to a proximal end of a needle, and an enclosure housing initially disposed at a distal end of the needle and enclosing the end of the needle. A hinged arm connects the base and the enclosure housing. The enclosure housing is slidable along the needle length, and the hinged arm flexes to permit the enclosure housing to move along the needle as the needle is inserted into a user, thereby hiding the needle end, and providing support to the needle to avoid bends or buckles in the needle. The hinged arm is biases in the initial position so that the enclosure housing returns to the end of the needle as the needle is withdrawn.
Huber Safety Needle
A Huber safety needle assembly including a body, configured to receive a needle. The body further including an upper portion having a first gripping portion coupled thereto, a lower portion having a second gripping portion coupled to thereto, and a hinge mechanism. The needle having a needle tip configured to be received in the body. The hinge mechanism is configured to operably transition the body between a closed configuration and an open configuration. The closed configuration allowing at least a portion of the needle, including the needle tip, to extend below the bottom surface of the lower portion of the body. The open configuration allowing the needle tip to be securely received within the lower portion such that it does not extend below the bottom surface of the lower portion.

The closed configuration allowing at least a portion of the needle, including the needle tip, to extend below the bottom surface of the lower portion of the body. The open configuration allowing the needle tip to be securely received within the lower portion such that it does not extend below the bottom surface of the lower portion.
PROTECTIVE CAP FOR ATTACHMENT TO A NEEDLE STICK PROTECTION DEVICE FOR A SYRINGE, SYRINGE SAFETY SYSTEM AND SYRINGE SYSTEM
A protective cap for attachment to a needle stick protection device (20) for a syringe includes a sleeve-shaped cap body configured to enclose a needle guard of the syringe. The protective cap further includes at least one coupling member coupled to the cap body and configured to couple the cap body to an outer housing of the needle stick protection device and to secure the protective cap to the needle stick protection device.
VARIABLE LENGTH INJECTION SYRINGE
A syringe assembly includes a syringe barrel (12) having a proximal end and a distal end, a needle hub (20) supporting the needle and coupled to the distal end of the syringe barrel (12). A moveable shield (36) is included for sliding from a first position where the needle is exposed a first length, a second position where the needle is exposed a second length less than said first length, and a third position covering a distal end of the needle. A locking mechanism (48, 86) is included to retain the shield in the second position while enabling the shield to slide to the third position, and to lock the shield in the third position to prevent re-use of the syringe.
Safety needle device
A safety needle device is disclosed having a housing configured to couple to a syringe, the housing having a proximal end, a distal end, and a housing body. A needle hub is disposed on the proximal end of the housing and a needle cannula is attached to the needle hub. The device having a retractable sheath configured to move between an initial position, a retracted position and an extended position with respect to the housing, wherein the initial position partially exposes a distal tip of the needle cannula, the retracted position fully exposes the needle cannula, and the extended position fully covers the distal tip of the needle cannula. The safety needle device may include an activation latch, a lockout latch, a tether and a spring element to bias the retractable sheath to an extended state to cover the distal end of the needle cannula upon completion of an injection. The safety needle device may include a slider element disposed above an activation latch. A method of drug delivery is also disclosed.
