In certain variations, systems and/or methods for electromagnetic induction therapy are provided. One or more ergonomic or body contoured applicators may be included. The applicators include one or more conductive coils configured to generate an electromagnetic or magnetic field focused on a target nerve, muscle or other body tissues positioned in proximity to the coil. One or more sensors may be utilized to detect stimulation and to provide feedback about the efficacy of the applied electromagnetic induction therapy. A controller may be adjustable to vary a current through a coil to adjust the magnetic field focused upon the target nerve, muscle or other body tissues based on the feedback provide by a sensor or by a patient. In certain systems or methods, pulsed magnetic fields may be intermittently applied to a target nerve, muscle or tissue without causing habituation.
Systems and Methods for Targeted Neuromodulation
Systems and methods for neuronavigation in accordance with embodiments of the invention are illustrated. Targeting systems and methods as described herein can generate personalized stimulation targets for the treatment of mental conditions. In many embodiments, direct stimulation of a personalized the stimulation target indirectly impacts a brain structure that is more difficult to reach via the stimulation modality. In various embodiments, the mental condition is major depressive disorder. In a number of embodiments, the mental condition is suicidal ideation.
Method and device for deep brain stimulation
A method of treatment performed on a subject's brain includes a step of applying one or more neuromodulation signals to the lateral habenula and the posterior commissure.
Method and system for improving stimulation of excitable tissue
A method for optimization of the stimulation pattern of a set of implanted electrodes in excitable tissue of a patient is disclosed, wherein it comprises the steps of: (a) choosing a first group of a certain number of from said set of implanted electrodes, (b) stimulating the excitable tissue electrically by said first group of electrodes, (c) registering information provided by the patient, (d) assigning each electrode of said first group of electrodes a value related to said information, wherein these steps are repeated for one or more further groups of said certain number of electrodes chosen from said set of implanted electrodes, wherein each electrode may be included in one or several groups, wherein the total assigned value for each electrode is calculated, and wherein electrodes having a total assigned value exceeding a predetermined value or a predetermined number of the electrodes having the highest total assigned value are chosen to be included in said stimulation pattern, as well as a method for treatment or alleviation of a disease or condition by use of a set of electrodes whose stimulation pattern has been optimized with said method, and a system for optimization of the stimulation pattern.
User-weighted closed loop adjustment of neuromodulation treatment
Systems and techniques are disclosed to generate programming parameters and modifications during closed-loop adjustment of an implantable neurostimulation device treatment programming, through the identification and application of weights determined from user input indications and rankings of therapy objectives. In an example, a system to generate programming values of a neurostimulation device performs operations that: obtains human input which indicates multiple therapy objectives for neurostimulation treatment of a human patient; operates a model (such as an artificial intelligence model) to determine parameter outputs for programming of the neurostimulation device; identifies weights, based on the therapy objectives, usable in the model; produces a composite output from the model, by applying the identified weights to a combination of the parameter outputs of the programming model; and the resulting composite output provides neurostimulation device programming values for neurostimulation treatment designed to address the therapy objectives.
Neuromodulatory Method for Treating Neurological Disorders
A method for the treatment of disorders of the nervous system using an external pulse generator or implantable pulse generator, in which one or more target nerves receive electrical stimulation signals that combine one or more frequency spectrums having a power spectral density per unit of bandwidth proportional to 1/f.sup.(−β) noise, optionally combined with a regimen of applying such stimulation in a tonic manner or in a burst manner.
PHASE ALIGNMENT OF ECAPs
Systems, devices, methods, and techniques are described for phase misalignment correction for evoked compound action potential (ECAP) measurement from alternating polarity stimulation. An example system includes processing circuitry that receives a first ECAP signal elicited by a first polarity configuration of stimulus electrodes and receives a second ECAP signal elicited by a second polarity configuration of the stimulus electrodes opposite the first polarity configuration. The processing circuitry also generates an adjusted second ECAP signal by temporally aligning at least a portion of the second ECAP signal to at least a portion of the first ECAP signal, and generates a composite ECAP signal based on the first ECAP signal and the adjusted second ECAP signal. Additionally, the processing circuitry outputs the composite ECAP signal.
