ABSORBENT ARTICLES INCLUDING FRONT AND BACK WAIST PANELS WITH DIFFERENT STRETCH CHARACTERISTICS

Aspects of the present disclosure relate to absorbent articles with front and back waist panels having different stretch characteristics. A first waist panel may be connected with a chassis and positioned in a first waist region, and a second waist panel may be connected with the chassis and positioned in a second waist region. In some configurations, the first waist panel may comprise a first structural feature that is not included in the second waist panel or may comprise a first structural feature is different from a second structural feature included in the second waist panel. As such, the first structural feature provides different stretch characteristics between the first waist panel and the second waist panel.

An absorbent article includes a chassis. The chassis includes a topsheet, a backsheet, and an absorbent core disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet, and at least one elastically elongatable panel joined to the chassis. The elastically elongatable panel includes a stretch laminate having layers that are joined by ultrasonic bonding. The stretch laminate has at least one cover layer and an elastomeric film attached to the cover layer. The elastomeric film has two surfaces and a skin on at least one of the surfaces. The stretch laminate includes at least one anchoring zone and at least one stretch zone. The stretch laminate may include activation stripes and/or a plurality of wrinkles.

ABSORBENT ARTICLES HAVING TEXTURE ZONES FORMING BACKGROUND PATTERNS AND MACRO PATTERNS

An absorbent article comprises first and second substrates and one or more elastic elements disposed at least partially intermediate the substrates. The second substrate is attached to the first substrate and/or to portions of the elastic elements. The absorbent article comprises an adhesive having a first and second pattern of elements disposed on first substrate, and first and second texture zones. The first texture zone comprises a first portion of the substrates, a first portion of the elastic elements, and the first pattern of elements of the adhesive and forms a background pattern in the first portion of the substrates. The second texture zone comprises a second portion of the substrates, a second portion of the one or more elastic elements, and the second pattern of elements of the adhesive and forms a macro pattern in the second portion of the substrates.

An absorbent article includes a first and second waist region and a crotch region disposed between the first and second waist regions. The absorbent article includes a chassis having a topsheet, backsheet, and an absorbent core disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet. A laminate may be joined to the chassis. The laminate is an ultrasonically bonded laminate having a bond pattern. The bond pattern includes a plurality of discrete, primary ultrasonic bonds and a plurality of secondary ultrasonic bonds. The primary bonds may permanently attach the one or more layers of the laminate and the secondary bonds may releasably attach the one or more layers of the laminate. The releasable bond may release one or more layers of the laminate when the laminate is extended in the stretch direction.

Wearable article having elastic belt

Disclosed is a wearable article continuous in a longitudinal direction and a transverse direction comprising a center chassis and a ring-like elastic belt comprising a front belt and a back belt; the front and back belt each formed by a laminate comprising a plurality of elastic bodies running in the transverse direction, an inner sheet, an outer sheet, and an outer sheet fold over; wherein at least one of the front belt and the back belt has: a) the longitudinal edge of the center chassis being distal than, preferably at least about 10 mm distal than, the outer sheet fold over proximal edge; b) in the left and right side panels: b-1) at least one elastic body, preferably at least two elastic bodies, disposed between the outer sheet and the outer sheet fold over in regions where the inner sheet does not overlap; b-2) one to no more than about 8 elastic bodies disposed between the outer sheet and inner sheet in regions where the outer sheet fold over overlaps in the thickness direction, and b-3) the remaining elastic bodies disposed between the outer sheet and the inner sheet in regions where the outer sheet fold over does not overlap in the thickness direction, wherein any elastic body disposed between the outer sheet and the inner sheet is disposed at least about 5 mm away from the inner sheet distal edge.

PATTERNING OF AN ELASTIC LAMINATE

The present disclosure discloses an embossed patterned elastic laminate. The elastic laminate has an embossed pattern of at least three surface areas. The current disclosure also includes a process for making an embossed patterned elastic laminate. The embossed patterned elastic laminate provides a permanent change to visual aesthetic without adversely impacting the elastic film.

PATTERNING OF A STRANDED ELASTIC LAMINATE

The present disclosure provides for an apparatus for using a patterned stranded elastic laminate. The stranded elastic laminate is patterned by an anvil roll. The current disclosure also includes a process for making a patterned elastic laminate The patterned elastic laminate provides an aesthetic effect and is visible at least in both the stretched and unstretched states.
