A multimodal PET (positron emission tomography)/MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) contrast agent, a process of synthesizing said PET/MRI contrast agent, and a pharmaceutical formulation comprising said PET/MRI contrast agent are disclosed. The PET/MRI contrast agent comprises a magnetic signal generating core, and a coating portion formed at least partially over a surface of said magnetic signal generating core, wherein the coating portion comprises a plurality of layers, including an inner layer having a functionalized surface, and an outer layer in the form of a radionuclide electrolessly plated layer formed on said functionalized surface.
NON-PYROGENIC PREPARATION COMPRISING NANOPARTICLES SYNTHESIZED BY MAGNETOTACTIC BACTERIA FOR MEDICAL OR COSMETIC APPLICATIONS
A non-pyrogenic preparation containing nanoparticles synthesized by magnetotactic bacteria for medical or cosmetic applications. The nanoparticles are constituted by a crystallized mineral central part including predominantly an iron oxide, as well as a surrounding coating without material from the magnetotactic bacteria.
Modified cyclodextrin coated magnetite nanoparticles for targeted delivery of hydrophobic drugs
The invention discloses a composition comprising surface modified iron oxide nanoparticles with citric acid modified cyclodextrin with a hydrodynamic diameter of less than 10 nm and a hydrophobic molecule. The composition finds use in targeted delivery of a hydrophobic drug and as contrast agent in imaging applications.
Method for preparing chitosan complex film
A method for preparing a chitosan complex film comprises: (1) reacting polyvinyl alcohol-124 with butanedioic anhydride to obtain a modified polyvinyl alcohol; (2) formulating the modified polyvinyl alcohol-124 into a 0.4 wt % aqueous solution, then adding the aqueous solution containing 0.4 wt % of modified polyvinyl alcohol-124 dropwise into an acetic acid solution at a concentration of 0.4 wt % chitosan to obtain a mixed solution; (3) adjusting the pH value of the mixed solution with a 0.01 wt % NaOH solution to pH 5.5, and removing surface bubbles after standing for one hour to obtain a casting solution; (4) pouring the casting solution into a culture dish, placing the culture dish into an oven at 60 C. and drying to a constant weight to obtain the chitosan complex film. The materials used in the method are inexpensive, and the reaction is not complicated, so the cost of the product is not high.

METHOD FOR INCREASING DISPERSION STABILITY OF NANOPARTICLES AS T1 MRI CONTRRAST AGENT AND T1 MRI CONTRAST NANOPARTICLES
The present invention improves an existing contrast agent, especially, a T1 contrast agent, and adopts a strategy in which the T1 contrast material is partially coated on a support surface to which a hydrophilic functional group is exposed. The partial coating strategy adopted in the present invention improves both the stability and contrast performance of T1 contrast agent nanoparticles, and such a strategy leads to very interesting technical development.
Fluorescent Cypate Conjugate of Hyaluronic Acid or Salt Thereof, Hydrophobized Conjugate, Methods of Preparation and Use Thereof
The present invention relates to the fluorescent conjugate of hyaluronic acid containing cypate or salts thereof, the hydrophobized conjugate, methods of the preparation and use thereof in medicinal applications for in vivo imaging and the treatment of neoplasms.
MRI CONTRAST AGENT AND METHOD FOR PREPARING THE SAME
An MRI contrast agent, including superparamagnetic nanoparticles and hydroxyethyl starch. The weight ratio of the superparamagnetic nanoparticles to the hydroxyethyl starch is between 1:5 and 1:15. The superparamagnetic nanoparticles have a particle size of 100-140 nm, and include the following layers, from the inside out, ferrous ferric oxide particles, citric acid, and poly-R-lysine. The citric acid accounts for 6-13 wt. % of the ferrous ferric oxide particles. The poly-R-lysine accounts for 6-20 wt. % of the ferrous ferric oxide particles.
Magnetic probe apparatus
A system and method for locating magnetic material. In one embodiment the system includes a magnetic probe; a power module in electrical communication with the magnetic probe to supply current to the magnetic probe; a sense module in electrical communication with the magnetic probe to receive signals from the magnetic probe; and a computer in electrical communication with the power module and the sense module. The computer generates a waveform that controls the supply of current from the power module and receives a signal from the sense module that indicates the presence of magnetic material. The magnetic probe is constructed from a material having a coefficient of thermal expansion of substantially 10.sup.?6/? C. or less and a Young's modulus of substantially 50 GPa or greater. In one embodiment magnetic nanoparticles are injected into a breast and the lymph nodes collecting the particles are detected with the probe and deemed sentinel nodes.
