SAFETY SYRINGE ASSEMBLY
The safety syringe assembly is for inserting a needle into a patient and comprises a needle hub assembly and a safety cover. The needle hub assembly includes a needle, needle hub, and hub flex unit. The needle is mounted on the front side of the needle hub while the rear side is for receiving a syringe. The safety cover houses the needle hub assembly in a first position during shipping, a second position during insertion of the needle into the patient, and in a third position after the needle has been inserted into the patient while awaiting disposal. A portion of the safety cover includes magnification enabling a user to view a dosage calibration scale, needle bevel and air bubbles. The hub flex unit assumes a first enlarged position during shipping, is compressed during insertion into the patient, and slides into a third position after usage while awaiting disposal.
Auto-Injector Device
An auto-injector device comprising an injector body having a proximal end and a distal end; a syringe received in the injector body; a needle disposed in a first end of the syringe to extend toward an opening in the distal end of the injector body; and a sealing element disposed at the distal end of the injector body for making a seal against a patient's skin. The auto-injector is configured to generate a reduced pressure to draw the auto-injector device against the patient's skin. The auto-injector device comprises a pressure-reducing mechanism configured to generate the reduced pressure within the injector body during an injection process. The pressure reducing mechanism comprises a moveable member configured such that movement of the moveable member from a first position to a second position enlarges a closed volume within the injector body to generate the reduced pressure within the closed volume.
System and method for ergonomic needle protector
Provided is a system and method for an ergonomic needle protector. More specifically, provided is an ergonomic needle protector for a needle having a first curvature. The ergonomic needle protector has a flexible body having a first end and a second end, and an internal channel extending from the first end towards the second end. The flexible body is formed of a resilient material structured and arranged to return to a curved state along the length of the flexible body according to a second curvature different from the first curvature of the needle. The internal channel is structured and arranged to receive the needle when the flexible body is deformed to conform the internal channel to the first curvature and frictionally bind against the needle when the flexible body is released back to the second curvature. An associated method of use is also provided.
Safety needle device
The invention relates to a safety needle device, for a medical instrument, to insert a needle into a patient's body to a determined insertion depth. The safety needle device, in two variants with a fixed insertion depth and with an insertion depth adjustment, comprises a hub, a needle, a protecting shield, longitudinal resilient means, transverse resilient means, a housing, and is provided with different technical means configured to cooperate with each other in order to perform different functions of the device. The safety needle device enables to control a state of use of the device, wherein the device is a disposable one and it ensures its user a protection against an accidental or intentional prick of the needle before and after the due use of the device for the purpose for which it is intended.
NEEDLE SHIELDING SYSTEM
Needle shielding systems are disclosed. The needle shielding system comprises a needle, a cover sleeve, and a needle shield. The needle has a needle tip and a needle bulge spaced apart from the needle tip. The cover sleeve is slidably mounted over the needle and comprises an end portion having an internal diameter smaller than the width of the needle bulge, and a cover sleeve shaft extending from the end portion towards the needle tip and having an internal diameter larger than the width of the needle bulge. The needle shield comprises a base plate slidably mounted over the needle adjacent to the end portion, and at least one resilient arm extending from the base plate towards the needle tip. In use the needle shield and cover sleeve move along the needle until the end portion contacts the needle bulge and the cover sleeve shaft and the arm cover the needle tip.
SYRINGE NEEDLE ASSEMBLY, AND SAFETY SYRINGE AND SAFETY SYRINGE DEVICE USING THE SYRINGE NEEDLE ASSEMBLY
Disclosed are a syringe needle assembly, and a safety syringe and a safety syringe device which use the syringe needle assembly. The syringe needle assembly includes a syringe needle having a needle tip formed on a front end thereof, and a safety tube covering the syringe needle, coupled to a rear end of the syringe needle and opened in an injection direction of the syringe needle. When the syringe needle is inserted into skin, the safety tube is contracted towards a rear side of the needle tip, and when the syringe needle is pulled out from the skin, the safety tube is extended towards a front side of the needle tip.
Safety Needle Device
A safety needle device is disclosed having a housing configured to couple to a syringe, the housing having a proximal end, a distal end, and a housing body. A needle hub is disposed on the proximal end of the housing and a needle cannula is attached to the needle hub. The device having a retractable sheath configured to move between an initial position, a retracted position and an extended position with respect to the housing, wherein the initial position partially exposes a distal tip of the needle cannula, the retracted position fully exposes the needle cannula, and the extended position fully covers the distal tip of the needle cannula. The safety needle device may include an activation latch, a lockout latch, a tether and a spring element to bias the retractable sheath to an extended state to cover the distal end of the needle cannula upon completion of an injection. The safety needle device may include a slider element disposed above an activation latch. A method of drug delivery is also disclosed.
The internal channel structured and arranged to receive the needle when the flexible body is deformed to conform the internal channel to the first curvature and frictionally bind against the needle when the flexible body is released back to the second curvature. An associated method of use is also provided.
Pen needle with quick release and/or removal system
An injection device tip includes a body configured to be removably connected to an injection device and a needle having a portion projecting from a proximal end of the body. The body at least one of has flexible portions which can be deflected inwardly to cause release of an engagement between the body and a proximal end of the injection device, has two oppositely arranged flexible portions arranged outside an imaginary circle defined by an outside surface of two opposite portions arranged between the two oppositely arranged flexible portions, is generally oval in shape, is generally rectangular in shape, is generally square in shape, and is non-circular in shape.
