An injector device includes a housing for receiving a medicament cartridge; a needle unit comprising a needle; and a first sleeve slideable along a longitudinal axis of the housing from a first position, in which the first sleeve conceals the needle, to a second position, in which the needle is exposed from an end of the first sleeve, the first sleeve configured to engage the needle unit so that, during use, movement of the first sleeve from the first position to the second position moves the needle unit from a primary position to a secondary position, in which secondary position the needle unit locates over an end of a medicament cartridge, wherein the device further comprises a second sleeve arranged to move telescopically with respect to the first sleeve, the first sleeve extending from the second sleeve when the first sleeve is in the first position.

PEN NEEDLE WITH RETRACTABLE SHIELD
20220331527 · 2022-10-20 ·

A pen needle (30) for a delivery device includes a hub (32) supporting a needle (54) and a distal needle shield (70) that can retract to expose the needle during injection and return to the extended position after use and lock in the extended position to cover the needle. A proximal needle shield (0.102) moves from a retracted position to an extended position with respect to the hub to shield or cover a proximal end of the needle when the needle hub is separated from the delivery device. A spring (130) extends between the distal needle shield and the proximal needle shield to bias each needle shield to the respective extended position. The distal needle shield (70) is coupled to the proximal needle shield (102) in an initial position to retain the spring (130) in a compressed state. The distal needle shield (70) is depressed to disengage the distal needle shield from the proximal needle shield (102) so that the spring expands to an extended state and moves the shields to the extended positions. A locking member (142, 156) can be provided to lock the proximal needle shield (70) and distal needle shield (102) in the extended position.

SAFETY NEEDLES AND METHODS OF USE THEREOF

A needle protection assembly, adapted to protect a tip of a hypodermic needle, comprising a shield adapted, in a protected operative orientation of the needle protection assembly, to shield the tip of the hypodermic needle, a locking element including at least one slot, the slot including at least three surfaces corresponding to three operative orientations of the shield, at least one slot engaging element, functionally associated with the shield, the slot engaging element being disposed within the slot of the locking element and movable relative thereto, between the surfaces, so as to transition the shield between the three operative orientations, and at least one biasing element, adapted for axial biasing of the shield, wherein the three operative orientations include a storage operative orientation, an injection operative orientation, and a needle protection operative orientation.

Hazardous Agent Injection System

Injection systems comprising a powered injector and one or more hazardous agents are disclosed.

NEEDLE SHIELDING DEVICE

The present disclosure discloses a needle shielding device for a catheter instrument extending along a longitudinal axis A, comprising an inner part comprising an inner part track extending along said axis A, a middle part comprising a middle part track extending along the axis A, and an internal middle part engagement, an outer grip part, comprising a needle hub, holding a needle extending along the axis A, and grip part internal engagement. The grip part internal engagement is configured to slidingly engage the middle part track, and the middle part engagement is configured to slidingly engage the inner part track such that the inner part, the middle part and the grip part are telescopingly slidable in relation to one another.

AUTOMATIC INJECTION DEVICE

An automatic injection device, including a housing arranged along a longitudinal axis and having a forward end and a rearward end, the housing is configured to receive a syringe including at least one syringe piston and a needle coupled to a forward end thereof; a plunger rod adapted to be retained with respect to the housing in an initial operative orientation; at least one resilient element arranged to forwardly bias the plunger rod relative to the syringe; a needle shield adapted for selectable axial displacement with respect to the housing along the longitudinal axis, whereas rearward displacement of the needle shield exposes the needle and forward displacement of the needle shield covers the needle; and a trigger element configured to be axially rearwardly displaced upon rearward displacement of the needle shield relative to the housing and thereby allow forward displacement of the plunger rod relative to the syringe under the urge of the at least one resilient element.

Drive unit for a medicament delivery device

A drive unit for a medicament delivery device is presented having an elongated plunger rod extending in a longitudinal direction, a drive force element capable of applying a drive force on the elongated plunger rod, and an actuator operably connected to the elongated plunger rod for releasably holding the elongated plunger rod in an energized state when the drive force element is exerting a drive force on the elongated plunger rod. An activator is operably connected to the actuator for releasably holding the actuator in a holding position where the actuator is designed to be movable from the holding position in a direction generally transversal to the longitudinal direction upon a displacement of the activator for releasing the plunger rod.
