Water Vapor Distillation Apparatus, Method and System
A system for water dispensing. The system includes a housing comprising a first and second portion; a water vapor distillation apparatus housed in the first portion of the housing, the water vapor distillation apparatus producing a distilled water product; at least one storage tank housed in the second portion of the housing and fluidly connected to the water vapor distillation apparatus; at least one pump housed in the second portion of the housing and fluidly connected to the at least one storage tank; and at least one appliance located outside of the housing and fluidly connected to the at least one pump, wherein the distilled water product is stored in the at least one storage tank and the pump pumps water from the at least one storage tank to the at least one appliance.
LIQUID DISTRIBUTOR FOR A SEPARATION DEVICE COMPRISING A SCREEN MADE OF A CARBON COMPOSITE MATERIAL
A liquid distributor for a separation device, such as for a mass transfer column for a packing column for absorption, stripping, scrubbing or distillation. The liquid distributor includes at least one distributor member having two or more outlet openings for an outflow of liquid in the form of jets, and the liquid distributor further includes at least one screen which is arranged in front of the outlet openings so that liquid jets outflowing through the outlet openings of the distributor member impinge onto the surface of the at least one screen and are deformed thereon to thin flowing liquid films. At least one of the at least one screen is made at least partially of a carbon composite material.
DISTRIBUTOR TRAY FOR A FRACTIONATING COLUMN, COMPRISING A COMPARTMENT FOR DISTRIBUTING GAS
The present invention relates to a distributor tray (1) comprising chimneys (2) for the passage of gas and means for the passage of liquid. The distributor tray furthermore has at least one casing (10) for distributing the gas. The casing (10) is arranged around a plurality of chimneys (2), and has gas remixing means and gas redistribution means.
Structured packing module for mass transfer columns
A cross-corrugated structured packing element is provided for use in mass transfer or heat exchange columns. The packing element has a plurality of packing layers positioned in an upright, parallel relationship to each other and including corrugations formed of alternating peaks and valleys and corrugation sidewalls extending between the peaks and valleys. The packing element also includes a plurality of apertures each presenting an open area. The apertures are distributed such that the corrugation sidewalls have a greater density of open areas than any density of the open areas that may be present in the peaks and valleys. Some of the apertures may be present in the peaks and the valleys to facilitate liquid distribution. The apertures may also be placed in rows or other patterns that are aligned in a direction along a longitudinal length of the corrugations. Regions with a larger apex radius may be formed in the peaks, such as by depressing spaced-apart segments of the peaks to form spacers in the undepressed portions of the peaks. Some of the apertures may be positioned in the transitions from the depressed portions of the peaks to the unmodified apex sections.
Hydrophilized material, hydrophilized member, and gas-liquid contact apparatus in which same is used
A hydrophilized material has a surface provided with surface roughness that arithmetic mean roughness is 0.3 μm to 1.0 μm and mean width of roughness profile elements is 0.1 mm or less. A hydrophilized member that contacts a liquid is at least partially made of the hydrophilized material. The hydrophilized member is applicable to a gas-liquid contact apparatus having a gas-liquid contact section, a liquid supply system, and a gas supply system, to constitute the gas-liquid contact section as a packing element. Wettability imparted due to the surface roughness is exhibited continuously.
Structured elements and methods of use
Structured elements with capabilities for stream flow division and distribution and mitigation of undesired species that exceed those of conventionally available materials are provided. The structured elements provide increased opportunities for surface attraction, retention and coalescence of undesired species in a process stream. The functional contact surfaces of the structured elements can include one or more of the faces of cells, the surfaces of struts connecting cells, the surfaces of nodes connecting struts, and the surfaces of asperities or irregularities caused by channels, flutes, spikes, fibrils or filaments in or on the material surfaces.

A gas-distributing tray (20) and a column for exchange of heat and/or of material between a gas and a liquid containing the tray, and use of the tray, the tray having several protruding chimneys (80) which are substantially parallelepipedal and parallel to one another over a portion (21) of the upper face of the tray for the exclusive passage of the gas (g) through the tray and a zone for collecting the liquid (90) having two diametrically opposite weirs (91, 92) for collecting the liquid (l) on the tray. The chimneys each have an element for distribution of the gas (82) partially overlapping the zone for collecting the liquid.
MULTISTAGE LIQUID DISTRIBUTOR FOR A SEPARATION DEVICE COMPRISING A DUAL-TROUGH PRE-DISTRIBUTOR
A liquid distributor for a separation device is provided. The liquid distributor comprises at least one pre-distributor member positioned above a plurality of distributor members. The at least one pre-distributor member comprises at least two troughs each comprising a plurality of discharge openings. Each two of the at least two troughs are connected with each other, and a first trough has an overflow portion and at least one deflector attached to the overflow portion or a side wall of the first trough. A second trough has an upper edge. If a liquid level in the first trough reaches the overflow portion, the at least one deflector extends from above the upper edge of the second trough to the second trough so that liquid flows into the second trough from the first trough over the overflow portion or the side wall and the at least one deflector.
STRUCTURED PACKING MODULE FOR USE IN A MASS TRANSFER COLUMN AND METHOD OF ASSEMBLY
A structured packing module for use in a mass transfer column. Corrugated sheets of structured packing in the structured packing module are held together by fasteners that extend into the corrugated sheets from opposite sides of the structured packing module at an angle of inclination or perpendicularly with respect to the sides of the structured packing module. The fasteners may have an outer surface with protrusions or indentations that resist removal of the fasteners from the structured packing sheets.
