A hybrid filtration sock comprises a mesh tube filled with a blended filler comprising 60%-90% fibrous volumizing filler and 10%-40% woody organic filler. The fibrous volumizing filler 12 includes straw, grasses, pine straw, corn stalks, natural fibers and weeds and combinations thereof. The woody organic filler is ground or chipped wood based material from land clearing, yard waste, pallets and clean wood debris or clean wood scraps, comprising a PH of between 5.0 and 8.0, with a particle size wherein 99% passes a 2 in (50 mm) sieve and a maximum of 43% passes a ⅜ in (9.5 mm) sieve, and <3.5% by dry weight of inert or foreign man made materials.

Self-cleaning, groutless, filter underdrain

An underdrain block for filtering water includes a top wall, a bottom wall, and two side walls connecting the top wall to the bottom wall to define an internal chamber. The bottom wall contains a plurality of orifices that allow liquid and solid materials to enter and exit the internal chamber. An underdrain filtering system can be formed by securing an underdrain lateral, which is formed from one or a plurality of underdrain blocks, to a filter floor. Also included is a method of preparing an underdrain lateral for providing even distribution of backwash water along the underdrain lateral and a method of validating even distribution of backwash water across an underdrain lateral.

A Composite Filter Sock Assembly includes a Compost Filter Sock and Secondary Tubular Seam Filling Device configured to be wedged beneath the compost filter sock on an upstream water runoff side of the compost filter sock, whereby the compost filter sock provides a pinning pressure to the Secondary Tubular Seam Filling Device and wherein the compost filter sock has a nominal diameter of 2-12 times a diameter of a tubular element of the Secondary Tubular Seam Filling Device. The Tubular Element may be least partially filled with a swell-able material such as sphagnum peat moss and may include a fastening mechanism on an exterior surface configured to facilitate coupling to a mesh tube of a compost filter sock.

Filter bag sealing method and a filter bag sealed therewith

A method of sealing a filter bag at the stitched joints of the filtration material, consisting in forming the filter bag out of at least one filtration material piece, whereupon the surface of at least one filtration material edge being joined is covered with a liquid or semi-liquid layer of a sealant in such a way that the filtration material edges being joined are in contact with one another at least on the surface covered with the sealant. After the sealant layer has been applied, the filter bag elements prepared beforehand are combined together permanently by sewing them with a thread. A filter bag formed of at least one filtration material piece whose edges (2) and (3) are joined together with a thread (5), with at least one stitch, is characterised by the fact that at the stitched places between the adjoining surfaces of the filtration material edges (2) and (3) being combined there is a sealant layer (4), applied before sewing.
