A device for filtering a stream of water in a channel (2), includes: a wall (6) adapted to be mounted in the channel and including a through-opening, a filter member (10) mounted on the wall opposite the through-opening and including a filter surface projecting relative to the wall, the filter surface having a larger area than would have a flat filter surface fitted in the through-opening, the filter member including retaining members face to face with the filter surface for retaining the bodies that do not pass through the surface, a suction device disposed facing the retaining members, and elements for driving the filter member and/or the suction device in a relative movement of one in relation to the other such that the suction device is successively brought face to face with each retaining member.

FRAME-TYPE DISC FILTER WITH BYPASS WATER CONTROL FOR PREVENTING BYPASS WATER FROM BEING USED IN BACKWASHING

A frame-type disc filter (100) is provided with a bypass water collector (33) disposed adjacent an inlet to the disc filter. Influent water overflows the inlet into the bypass water collector. A conduit is communicatively connected to the bypass water collector for directing the bypass water from the frame-type disc filter to an effluent channel that is independent of the frame-type disc filter.

Trunnion Monitoring For Food Processing/Water Treatment

A method and apparatus for food processing includes a processing compartment, two trunnions, a sensor and an alarm. The processing compartment includes a rotating component having two ends. Each trunnion includes a component for rotational movement and the trunnions are disposed to support one of the ends. The sensor is disposed to sense a rotational speed of one of the components for rotational movement and the alarm is responsive to the sensor.

Removing solids from a flowing fluid using a care-free pumped or gravity flow rotating drum screen with stationary stabilization assemblies

A pumped or gravity flow rotating drum screen removes unwanted solids from a flowing fluid. The drum screen may comprise: a housing having a fluid inlet end, a solid discharge end and an area between the two ends, the fluid inlet permitting a flow of influent containing unwanted solids into a hollow portion of a drum screen positioned lengthwise in the area between the two ends of the housing, the screen comprising a filter medium that retains at least a portion of the unwanted solids within the hollow portion of the drum screen and which produces a liquid effluent that is discharged from an outer surface of the drum screen, the retained solids being removable via the solid discharge end; a drive assembly configured to rotate the drum screen about an axis running the length of the drum screen; and one or more stabilization pad assemblies in contact with one or more rings circumscribing the outer surface of the drum screen at one or more locations.

A system may include a catch tray coupled with a flow distributor. A mesh screen and carriage may be positioned within the catch tray. A drive bar may be coupled with the carriage and a pitman arm. A gear box may be coupled with a motor and the pitman arm. A process may include distributing contaminated fluid onto the mesh screen. A screen plane of the mesh screen may be at a screen angle that is oblique relative to the direction of the force of gravity. The screen plane is defined by a top surface of the mesh screen. The process may include moving the carriage in a reciprocating linear motion by rotating the pitman arm, and spraying a liquid onto the mesh screen. Liquid may flow through the mesh screen forming clarified liquid, and contaminate may move along the top of the mesh screen to a contaminate outlet.
