The device housing (2) has an inlet (38) for the supply of an emulsion, which flows through the respective coalescer element (42) for separation into at least two of its constituents, has an outlet (46) for a separated constituent, and has a further outlet (22, 64) for a further separated constituent having a lower density than the one constituent and floating on the separated constituent having a higher density.

The ring filter element may form a venting device, which may form at least one venting channel that leads into the head portion.

A method of filtering a large volume of a medium using a pre-sterilizable, at least partially automated single-use filtration device which includes an unfiltrate inlet, a filtrate outlet, a main line running between the unfiltrate inlet and the filtrate outlet, filter elements arranged in the main line, a venting line and sensors for detecting specific process parameters and regulating means for adjusting specific process parameters, wherein the sensors and regulating means are connected to an external monitoring and control system which is adapted for evaluating and processing sensor data and for piloting the regulating means based on one or more control algorithms, comprises the following process steps: a) filling the single-use filtration device with medium with low flow; b) venting the single-use filtration device through the venting line; c) closing the venting line; d) rinsing the single-use filtration device, in particular the filter elements; e) filtering the medium by means of the filter elements; f) re-rinsing with high flow; and g) closing the main line; wherein the process steps f) and g) are optional.

Internal continuous air bypass

An oil filtration unit having an inlet adapted to receive contaminated oil from the surroundings and to release the contaminated oil to an inner opening of the unit, and an outlet adapted to release filtered oil to the surroundings. The inner opening has therein an oil filter for filtering the contaminated oil. The oil filter has a filter inlet defined by an outer surface of the oil filter, an inner filter volume adapted to receive filtered oil, and a filter that provides fluid/liquid communication between the inner filter volume and the outlet of the unit in order to release filtered oil from the inner filter volume. The oil filter has a top and a bottom end surface, where the top end surface of the oil filter has an aperture for providing fluid/liquid communication between the inner opening of the unit and the inner filter volume.

A filter element includes a first end cap, a second end cap, and an intermediate end cap disposed between the first end cap and the second end cap. A ring of first filter media circumscribing a first central cavity is disposed between the first end cap and the intermediate end cap. A ring of second filter media is disposed between the intermediate end cap and the second end cap. The filter element also includes an air-bleed conduit axially extending through the first central cavity and comprising a first portion integrally formed with the first end cap and a second portion integrally formed with the intermediate end cap and configured to connect to the first portion thereby forming a conduit for transmitting fluid.

Outdoor drain filter with flood protection

The invention described herein is that of an outdoor drain filter useful for maintaining the operability of an outdoor drain despite the accumulation of debris that would otherwise obstruct the outdoor drain, resulting in flood prevention of surrounding areas. The outdoor drain filter of the present invention is placed above and around an existing outdoor drain or may be integral with a drain cover or drain reservoir. The outdoor drain filter comprises upper and side filtration means allowing the free flow of water therethrough. The outdoor drain filter further comprises a diverter comprising at least one air vent and at least one lateral pipe that defines a maximum water level to which water will accumulate around the outdoor drain before being diverted into the drain through the diverter. The outdoor drain filter may a manufactured unit or of modular construction.
