Biosensor and production method for same
The disclosure relates to a biosensor including electrodes, a hydrophilic region or layer, and a reagent layer that contains an enzyme and a mediator, and methods of producing thereof.
Portable containment device for manipulating organic and/or chemical substances, and removable containment enclosure for such a device
The invention relates to a portable containment device for manipulating organic and/or chemical substances, which includes: a transporting case including two half-cases (2, 3) connected by a hinged structure (4) such as to be movable between a closed position (F), in which the half-cases (2, 3) are against one another and define a stowing space for at least the hinged structure (4), and an open position (O), in which the half-cases (2, 3) are spaced apart from one another by being maintained vertical by the hinged structure (4) and in which the half-cases (2, 3) and the hinged structure (4) form a supporting structure for a flexible containment enclosure (20); and a plastic, removable and flexible containment enclosure (20) that is at least partially transparent, for forming a generally parallelepiped foldable isolation chamber provided with means (31, 32) for accessing the inside of the enclosure and with means (21) for attachment to the supporting structure. The containment enclosure (20) is collapsible inside the transporting case in the closed position (F). The invention also relates to a removable, flexible enclosure for such a device.
Isotope separation methods and systems
Methods and systems for the separation of isotopes from an aqueous stream are described as can be utilized in one embodiment to remove and recover tritium from contaminated water. Methods include counter-current flow of an aqueous stream on either side of a separation membrane. The separation membrane includes an isotope selective layer (e.g., graphene) and an ion conductive supporting layer (e.g., Nafion). An electronic driving force encourages passage of isotopes selectively across the membrane to enrich the flow in the isotopes.
LOW-ENERGY ELECTROCHEMICAL SEPARATION OF ISOTOPES
The invention relates to isotope separation methods, and methods for separating isotopes with low energy consumption, demonstrated using hydrogen isotopes. Also described are methods for enriching or depleting the isotope present in the hydrogen gas/vapour feed e.g. for tritium removal, tritium enrichment and deuterium enrichment, by arranging a series of cells in a cascaded configuration.

Drying and filtering device
A drying and filtering device used for drying and filtering compressed air comprises a housing (10) having a cavity (11), an upper cover (20) disposed on the roof of the housing (10), a lower cover (30) having a drainage port (31) disposed at the bottom of the housing (10), and a cooling tube (40) disposed in the housing (10). An air inlet (21) and an air outlet (22) are provided at two sides of the upper cover (20). The cavity (11) being in communication with the air inlet (21), the air outlet (22), and the drainage port (31) respectively. The cooling tube (40) is disposed in the cavity (11) and extends from a position near the upper cover (20) downward to the lower cover (30). Compressed air enters the cavity (11) from the air inlet (21) on the upper cover (20), and contacts the cooling tube (40).
Devices and methods for aligning filters in a holding frame
A filtration system for a gas turbine engine is provided. The filtration system may include a holding frame with a positioning element extending therefrom and a filter element for mounting within the holding frame. The frame of the filter element may include a positioning slot therein such that the positioning element extends into the positioning slot when the filter element is mounted within the holding frame.
Seal arrangement for filter element; filter element assembly; and, methods
A filter cartridge arrangement is provided which includes a media pack comprising Z-filter media, a preform and a housing seal member. Improvements in the preform and seal member are described which include: a single beveled surface of the seal member to facilitate installation; and, an inside region of the seal member having a tip adjacent in inwardly directed lip of the preform, to control flash during molding. A variety of media pack configurations and features are described.
THIN FLUID LAYERS AND STREAMS FACILITATED, FORCE-BASED ATOM, ION, MOLECULE, AND FINE PARTICLE SEPARATORS AND METHODS OF USING THE SAME
Separators configured to create and use thin fluid layers, tubes, channels, or streams, multi-port collections, and one or more forces to separate and recover elements, molecules, ions, isotopes, and particles (entities). The separators include a support. The support may include inclined surfaces, rotatable cylinders, channels, tubes, streams or sets thereof. The separators may allow for the creation of a thin fluid layer or stream on the surface of the support or on a collection of small tubes, channels, or streams by dispensing a fluid onto the surface or collection of tubes, channels, or streams. Depending on properties of the entities to be separated, the separators can include a force application device configured to subject the entities to a magnetic field, an electrical and/or electrostatic field, a centrifugal field, an electrolytic field, an oscillating field, a hydrophobic gradient, a hydrophilic gradient, or a concentration gradient to facilitate the separations.
Sampling apparatus for determining the amount and uniformity of a delivered dose of drug and related methods
In an embodiment, the present invention is an apparatus, configured to collect emitted sample dose from a drug delivery device, wherein the sample dose is an aerosol, wherein the apparatus comprises a collection assembly and a removable plunger.
