A sealing case for a filtration cassette that reliably prevents leaks after assembly and installation into a filtration system. The sealing case fits on the filtration cassette and provides a fluid-tight seal between the sealing case and around at least one port in the filtration cassette when installed in a filtration system. The sealing case may comprise two halves that mate together, and each half may be identical. The internal surface of the sealing case is flat or substantially flat.

Mitigating leaks in membranes

Two-dimensional material based filters, their method of manufacture, and their use are disclosed. In one embodiment, a membrane may include an active layer including a plurality of defects and a deposited material associated with the plurality of defects may reduce flow therethrough. Additionally, a majority of the active layer may be free from the material. In another embodiment, a membrane may include a porous substrate and an atomic layer deposited material disposed on a surface of the porous substrate. The atomic layer deposited material may be less hydrophilic than the porous substrate and an atomically thin active layer may be disposed on the atomic layer deposited material.

A plurality of hollow filter sheets have a suction pipe inserted therethrough to be stacked with a ring-shaped packing clamped therebetween. Therefore, a gap between the hollow filter sheet and the suction pipe is watertightly sealed. In the hollow filter sheet, a hollow portion is provided between two filters, and then a spacer with a surface having pits and projections is provided in the hollow portion. A narrow passage space allowing liquid to pass through is provided between the filter and the spacer by pressing the two filters against surfaces of the spacer with the packings and causing the filters to be deformed into a shape according to the surfaces of the spacer. The narrow passage space is smaller than a drainage space between the filters and the spacer that are not clamped by the packings.

Device suitable for treatment of a fluid as well as a method and machine suitable for the manufacture of such a device

A device, which is suitable for the processing of at least one fluid, is provided with at least one elongated foil, which is formed in a number of reciprocating foil layers. Between two opposite layers of foil, a spacer is situated that is permeable at least parallel to the foil layers. The foil layers and interposed spacers extend spirally around a central axis, wherein folding lines between two foil layers extend substantially parallel to the central axis. Each spacer is coupled to at least an end near the central axis with a support extending parallel to the central axis where, of the supports near the central axis, first supports are situated between two foil layers, which foil layers are connected to one another near the central axis, whereas second supports are situated between two successive first supports.

Embodiments of the present invention provide the integration of the function of the feed spacer, the permeate carrier, or both, as a part of the membrane sheet in a spiral wound membrane element.

WATER TREATMENT SYSTEM AND WATER TREATMENT METHOD

A water treatment system according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a tank that stores water to be treated, a crossflow filtration membrane module that filters the water to be treated, a supply passage through which the water to be treated is supplied from the tank to the filtration membrane module by using a supply pump, and a recirculation passage through which the water to be treated, the water having passed through a membrane upstream side of the filtration membrane module, is recirculated to the tank. The tank has an upper space above a liquid surface of the stored water to be treated, the upper space being hermetically filled with an inert gas. The water treatment system further includes a gas transport passage through which the inert gas is introduced from the upper space into the supply passage or the filtration membrane module, and a compressor that is disposed in the gas transport passage and that pressurizes the inert gas. The compressor is preferably a water-sealed compressor.

MEMBRANE ASSEMBLY WITH END CAP DEVICE AND RELATED METHODS

A filtration assembly includes at least one membrane assembly, where the membrane assembly includes a membrane and at least one end cap device. The end cap device is defined in part by a longitudinal axis and extends from a first end to a second end along the longitudinal axis. The end cap device includes an intermediate profile between the first end and the second end, and the second end has a smaller inner diameter than the first end.
