SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR FILTERING A FLUID
A system and method for filtering a fluid includes a manifold and a filter releasably connected to the manifold that includes a memory storage device. A filter valve in fluid communication with the manifold has an open position that allows the fluid to flow through the filter and a shut position that prevents the fluid from flowing through the filter valve. A sensor in fluid communication with the manifold generates a fluid parameter signal reflective of a characteristic of the fluid flowing through the manifold. A controller receives the fluid parameter signal and positions the filter valve to the shut position when the fluid parameter signal meets a predetermined fluid condition.
Debris Clearing System And Method
A debris clearing system for clearing debris from a drain strainer includes a base member having at least one attachment coupler configured to removably attach the base member to the drain strainer, a support frame rotatably coupled to the base member, at least one arm assembly coupled to the support frame, a clearing member coupled to a distal end of the at least one arm assembly. The clearing member being adjacent the exterior surface of the drain strainer when the base member is coupled to the drain strainer. The system includes a drive unit coupled to the support frame to rotate the support frame and the at least one arm assembly relative to the base member. The clearing member clears debris from the exterior surface of the drain strainer when the drive unit rotates the support frame and the at least one arm assembly.

A filter apparatus positionable outside a washing machine and connectable to a drain device of the washing machine, the filter apparatus including a filter case including a case inlet a case outlet; a filter detachably installable inside the filter case, the filter through which water flowing from the case inlet to the case outlet passes; a sensor to detect water entered into the filter apparatus from the drain device and to produce a corresponding signal; and a filter cleaning device to clean the filter in accordance with the signal produced by the sensor.
Method for Concentrating Solids and Removing Solids from a Filter Medium
Disclosed are methods for concentrating solids and removing solids from a filter medium. The method includes the step of concentrating first particles of a first solid by removing a fluid stream through a filter medium in a filter. At least some of the first particles become blocking particles that block pores of the filter medium. The method also includes the step of inserting second particles of a second solid into the filter. These second particles scrape, vibrate, agglomerate, or a combination thereof along the filter medium, thus dislodging at least a portion of the blocking particles.
METHOD FOR REGENERATING A PARTICLE FILTER
The invention relates to a method for regenerating a particulate filter in the exhaust gas channel of an internal combustion engine. Here, the particulate filter is divided into several zones for determining the loading state, and, at the same time, a temperature distribution over the cross section of the particulate filter is determined. In order to prevent the soot retained in the edge zones of in the particulate filter from being insufficiently oxidized, when it is ascertained that the edge zones have been sufficiently loaded, the exhaust gas temperature is raised to a temperature which, in spite of the heat losses in the edge areas, lies above the temperature at which oxidation of the soot particles can take place. The invention further relates to an internal combustion engine having an exhaust gas channel and a particulate filter arranged in the exhaust gas channel, said internal combustion engine being configured to carry out such a method.
MICROPLASTIC FILTER FOR WASHING MACHINES OR OTHER APPLIANCES
A microplastic filter includes a housing including an inlet configured to receive water. The microplastic filter also includes a fine filter disposed to rotate within the housing and configured to filter residues from the water. The microplastic filter further includes an inside wiper disposed within the fine filter. The inside wiper includes a center post disposed along a rotational axis of the fine filter and a helical curved wall spirally extending between the center post and the fine filter, where the helical curved wall is configured to guide a portion of the water to backflow through the fine filter and force away at least some filtered residues from pores of the fine filter to prevent fouling or clogging of the fine filter. In addition, the microplastic filter includes an outside wiper spirally disposed around the fine filter and configured to dislodge other filtered residues from the fine filter as the fine filter rotates.
ARRANGEMENT AND METHOD FOR SEPARATING OUT AND REMOVING SCREENINGS FROM WASTEWATER
An apparatus for separating out and removing screenings from wastewater includes a screening device having a screen surface through which the wastewater flows during operation of the screening device and screenings carried along in the wastewater are at least intermittently retained. The apparatus includes a sensor and a controller. The sensor monitors the screenings in the area upstream from the screen surface and/or in the area of the screen surface. The controller outputs a message when the screenings have one or several properties which have been defined and have been recognized by the sensor. In addition, a method for operating the apparatus and a system including the apparatus are provided.
System and Method for Removing Solid Buildup from Filters
A system and a method for removing solid buildup from a filter media is disclosed. A slurry is passed parallel across a cross-flow filter, the filter comprising a conductive filter media and the slurry comprising a carrier liquid and solids. A portion of the carrier liquid crosses through the filter media as a permeate while a thickened slurry continues parallel to the filter media. A blockage of at least a portion of the filter media is detected. The blockage comprises a portion of the solids. At least a portion of the filter media is heated to a melting temperature of the solids, such that a portion of the blockage melts, whereby the blockage is cleared.

A tangential filtration device, particularly for fluid food products, includes a tangential filter arranged essentially vertically and provided with a plurality of filtering membranes having a longitudinal extension and arranged essentially vertically, an inlet for the product to be filtered, an outlet for the retentate and an outlet for the permeate. The inlet for the product to be filtered is disposed at the lower portion of the tangential filter so that the filtering membranes are longitudinally crossed, from the bottom upwards, by the product to be processed. The device further includes a pump, a cleaning apparatus, and a collection area.
