WET AIR PURIFIER
20180147523 · 2018-05-31 ·

Disclosed is a wet air purifier that eliminates contaminants while contaminated air passes therethrough by causing the contaminated air to come into contact with water. The wet air purifier suctions external air by rotating a rotary fan installed therein and disperses water droplets by causing water to collide with a rotary fan to increase a contact surface between air and water. In the wet air purifier, a mixture of the contaminated external air and the water is made to pass through a long narrow passage and guided to a storage tank in which contaminants are settled. In this way, the wet air purifier increases a retention time and a collision time of water and contaminated air. The wet air purifier also can function as a humidifier.

One or more liquid collectors are arranged above one or more first scrubbing liquid sprayers. The liquid collector is arranged for collecting one or more second scrubbing liquid and for flow through of a vertical upwards flowing gas-flow from the inlet to the outlet.

Cleaning system and method for reduction of SOx in exhaust gases

A cleaning system for reducing SOx and particulate matter in exhaust gases from a marine combustion engine, burner or boiler. The cleaning system comprises first and second scrubber process loops having first and second scrubber, respectively, and first and second water circulation tanks, respectively. Water from the first tank is evaporated to water vapor inside the first scrubber by contact with the exhaust gases, whereby the water vapor and the exhaust gases form humid exhaust gases. The humid exhaust gases are transferred to the second scrubber, wherein water from the second tank condensates the water vapor in the humid exhaust gases. A reflux of water from the second scrubber process loop to the first scrubber process loop is provided. At least 60% and more preferred at least 90% of a total amount of alkaline agent supplied to the cleaning system is supplied to the second scrubber process loop.

The apparatus comprises a passage (10) for gas flow; a hydrophilic carrier (12) permeable for gas flow, at least part of which is positioned within said passage for gas flow, and configured for containing a reagent that contacts the gas in said passage for gas flow; a unit (14) for disposing liquid to said carrier; and a controller (16), associated with said unit for disposing liquid, configured for controlling the unit for disposing to dispose an aqueous solution of dissolved reagent to the carrier; and after that controlling the unit for disposing to dispose liquid in case the humidity of the gas is below a first humidity threshold, or to stop disposing liquid in case the humidity of the gas is above a second humidity threshold.

Methods of automated garbage chute air evacuation to improve air quality
12151054 · 2024-11-26 ·

This description relates to waste disposal garbage chutes and more particularly to automated air quality management in and around the disposal chute and collection rooms where garbage chutes are present utilizing automated air quality sensing hardware and evacuation devices to provide a clean, sanitary waste room environment. A system according to the present invention includes a 3 step design using an air sensor to determine air cleaning cycle, and an air intake port with specular reflective surfaces in the inside to provide a reflective element to reflect UV light into the airborne particulates thereby killing 99% of the bacteria and fungi before entering an electrified gravity fed fluid filament air filter which collects the dead bacteria and fungi and settles in a collection reservoir. The fluid in the reservoir is then further filtered to clean the fluid for reuse in the automated air cleaning system.

Systems and Methods for Quenching and Removal of Solids from a Hydrocarbon Gas Reaction Product

Venturi-type scrubbers may be utilized in conjunction with removing solids from and quenching a gas-phase reaction product. Methods may comprise: providing a reaction product comprising a hydrocarbon gas and solids; introducing the reaction product into a Venturi-type scrubber; introducing a scrubbing fluid into the Venturi-type scrubber, wherein the scrubbing fluid is at a lower temperature than the reaction product; producing from the Venturi-type scrubber a multi-phase product comprising a scrubbed reaction product and a spent scrubbing fluid, the scrubbed reaction product comprising the hydrocarbon gas and the spent scrubbing fluid comprising the scrubbing fluid and the solids; and separating the hydrocarbon gas from the multi-phase fluid. Systems may comprise a reactor; a Venturi-type scrubber having a first inlet fluidly connected to the reactor and a second inlet configured to receive a scrubbing fluid; and a separation tower configured to receive a multi-phase stream from the Venturi-type scrubber after solids removal.

APPARATUS USING AN AIR FAN TO SEPARATE SOLIDS SUSPENDED IN A FLUID MEDIUM
20180093206 · 2018-04-05 ·

An apparatus adapted to separate solids suspended in a fluid medium, includes a cylindrical container adapted to contain the fluid medium, an air movement fan operatively connected to the container, the fan being positioned to direct a flow or flows of air onto the surface of the fluid medium at a tangent to the axis of the container, thereby to generate a swirling movement of the fluid around the axis, whereby the solids congregate around the axis from the fluid medium.
