An overhead storage system may be raised and lowered includes a pair of spaced scissor mechanisms, each scissor mechanism having a first rotatable point of attachment to the platform and a second translatable point of attachment to the platform, and a spring-biased tensioner mechanism configured to maintain the platform in an elevated state when access to the stored items is not desired and a lowered state when access to the stored items is desired, the spring-biased tensioner mechanism configured to allow a human to manually lower the platform from the elevated state to the lowered state and manually raise the platform from the lowered state to the elevated state. The overhead storage system detailed herein allows a user to easily access stored items without having to climb a ladder by permitting the platform of the overhead storage apparatus to be raised and lowered manually.

An apparatus for use with a rack of lockers is disclosed. The apparatus includes a key-facilitation server configured to cooperate with a locker server, and also configured to receive a key-access request. The locker server is associated with a rack of lockers including a first compartment configured to allow storage of secondary equipment, a second compartment having an open locker slot configured to maintain storage of equipment, and a locker divider separating the first compartment from the second compartment. The key-access request is configured to indicate a user request configured to request usage of an access key. The access key is also configured to be usable by the locker server. The locker server is configured to receive a locker-access request. The locker-access request is configured to indicate access of a selected locker is user requested. The locker server is configured to use the access key so as to facilitate secured user access of the selected locker associated with the rack of lockers.

A storage system including at least two support rails attached to a ceiling or other overhead structure and at least two channel rails which are configured to be moveably attached to the support rails in a spaced relationship with sliding fastening clips. The channel rails move along the length of the support rail in order to accommodate the different widths of storage containers which are to be installed in the storage system.

An apparatus for use with a rack of lockers is disclosed. The apparatus includes a key-facilitation server configured to cooperate with a locker server, and also configured to receive a key-access request. A wardrobe apparatus comprising a body supporting a rail, a frame, and a movement mechanism, wherein the actuation means is arranged to move the rail vertically from a first position distal the frame to a second position proximate the frame.

A storage system includes a support bar that has a cavity connected to the external environment by a slot. One or more fixtures have shafts with a retainer at one end and an attachment at the other. The retainers rest on an internal surface of the support bar within the cavity and can be repositioned by sliding the fixture along the slot. The attachment may be a hook or other suitable attachment that supports stored objects for display in the external environment.

A storage apparatus includes a pully system, a moveable platform, X-bars, a lowering and lifting means and attachment elements. The platform includes at least one support tray and side and end platform supports. The pully system includes at least one pully, a lowering and raising mechanism and at least one rope or cable, where the rope or cable is attached to at least one pully support. The lowering and lifting means turns the lowering and raising mechanism such that the rope or cable moves over pullies in the pully system to raise and lower the platform of the storage apparatus.

An overhead storage unit includes a pivot arm extending from a first end to a second end. The first end is pivotably mountable to a fixed pivot and the pivot arm is pivotable about a pivot axis defined by the pivot. A storage container having interconnected walls defines a storage container interior. One of the interconnected walls is a conforming wall. The storage container is mounted to the pivot arm and pivotable to be raised and lowered between a stored position and an accessible position. In the stored position, the storage container is disposed within the overhead storage area and the conforming wall is upright. In the accessible position, the storage container is disposed below the overhead storage area and the conforming wall provides access to the storage container interior. A residential living unit and method are also disclosed.

An expandable and contractable storage device comprised of a frame, X-bars, a leveler, a movable bar, rolling wheels and attachment guides. The frame includes at least one elongated support element having a support ledge. The leveler is connected to the moveable bar and a grooved shaft. The rolling wheels are attached to carriages and the movable bar are located inside elongated U-shaped channels and channels of the attachment guides. The X-bars are attached to the carriages and the attachment guides. Stoppers are movably located inside the elongated U-shaped channels and the channels of the attachment guides. The rotation of the leveler will rotate the grooved shaft and move the movable bar in a forward direction forcing the rolling wheels to rotate and translate forward along the channels and the X-bars will move in an upward or downward direction and the frame moves in a downward or upward direction.

An overhead storage unit is disclosed. The storage unit has an elongated guide member with a first horizontal segment mountable within an overhead storage area, a second vertical segment mountable below the overhead storage area, and a curved segment extending between the first and second segments. The storage unit also has a storage container with at least a first wall mounted to the guide member and displaceable therealong to be raised and lowered between a stored position and an accessible position. The first wall is disposed within the storage area and has a first orientation to define a bottom surface of the storage container in the stored position. The first wall is disposed below the storage area and has a second orientation different from the first orientation in the accessible position. A residential living unit and method are also disclosed.
