SCREW CONVEYOR ADSORPTION MOVING BED WITH HEAT INTEGRATION

Systems and methods presented herein provide for a screw conveyor adsorption moving bed that separates carbon dioxide from a gas mixture. Adsorbent particles are transported between an adsorption section of the reactor, which can be an outer column, and a desorption section, which can be an inner column. The particle transport is facilitated by the screw conveyor located inside the inner column. The screw conveyor is specially designed to have a hollow screw, shaped as a spiral surface, attached to a central shaft. The screw surface is also equipped with plurality of holes and a flexible edge attachment to seal against the cylindrical surface. The hollow shape allows the gas to flow from the inlet of the shaft to the particles through the holes on the screw, thus creating uniform gas distribution.

The air filter comprises a support frame having a shape and size suitable to orient the air filter within a HVAC system. A compound filter medium is retained within the support frame to remove the airborne molecular contaminants and VOCs from air flowing through the HVAC system. A portion of the first media layer is pleated and may comprise a combination of media layers configured to exhibit a relatively high filtration efficiency and a low air pressure drop across the filter medium. A second portion of the filter medium is coupled to the first portion and maintains a uniform distribution of the pleats with the first portion.

Ionized gas separation arrangement

Disclosed is a gas separation arrangement for separating and containing various types of gas from a collection chamber based on their different atomic masses. The chamber is connected to an ion diverter via a valve that when open permits the various types of gas to migrate from the collection chamber to an ionizer where the gas is ionized. The ionized gas is accelerated through an ion accelerator and dispensed into an ion deflector. The ion deflector comprises a magnetic field within a channel defined by a pair of split-pole magnets. The trajectory of the ions is based on the mass of the ions, which separates the ions. Multiple collectors are positioned at different locations on an exit side of the ion deflector to receive the different ions traveling along their respective trajectories.
