A method for cleaning an off-gas from viscose production, essentially containing H.sub.2S and CS.sub.2, comprises passing the gas through a catalytic reactor containing a direct oxidation type catalyst, such as V.sub.2O.sub.5 on silica, to convert H.sub.2S in the gas to elemental sulfur, SO.sub.2 or mixtures thereof, either via the oxygen present in the gas or via oxygen added to the gas stream. Elemental sulfur and SO.sub.2 are removed from the effluent gas from the catalytic reactor, and the unconverted CS.sub.2 is recycled to the viscose production process.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DETERMINING AMOUNT OF REDUCTANT DEPOSITS IN AFTERTREATMENT SYSTEMS

An aftertreatment system comprises a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) unit, a reductant injector configured to insert reductant into the aftertreatment system, a first NO.sub.x sensor configured to measure an amount of NO.sub.x gases at a location upstream of the reductant injector, and a second NO.sub.x sensor configured to measure an amount of NO.sub.x gases at a location downstream of the SCR unit. A controller is programmed to estimate an amount of reductant deposits formed in the aftertreatment system based on at least the amount of NO.sub.x gases measured at the location upstream of the reductant injector, the amount of NO.sub.x gases measured at the location downstream of the SCR unit, and an amount of reductant that has been inserted into the aftertreatment system. The controller adjusts an amount of reductant to be inserted into the aftertreatment system based on the estimated amount of reductant deposits formed in the aftertreatment system.

A method comprising treating combustion exhaust gas containing nitrogen oxides in the presence of a denitration catalyst to remove nitrogen oxides from the combustion exhaust gas, wherein the denitration catalyst is composed of a shaped product comprising a catalyst component, the shaped product has micro cracks in a mesh pattern or a bipectinate pattern on the surface of the shaped product, and the micro cracks have a 95% crack width of 100 μm or less and a crack area ratio variation coefficient of 0.7 or less.
