Disclosed herein is a system for recovering flash gas from an oil storage tank. In one example of the invention, the system may include a flexible storage tank that receives the flash gas and temporarily stores the flash gas; a compressor having an input receiving the flash gas from the flexible storage tank, the compressor compressing the flash gas to form compressed gas; and an oxygen reduction subsystem receiving the compressed gas, the oxygen reduction subsystem reducing an amount of oxygen from the compressed gas. In this manner, the resulting compressed oxygen-reduced gas that has been recovered can be injected into a sales gas line for use, under certain conditions.

Scrubber system improvement for sulfur containing gas streams

An improvement in a wet scrubbing process for treating gaseous industrial process streams which contain one or more of SO.sub.2, SO.sub.3, H.sub.2SO.sub.4 which comprises contacting the stream of gas with a countercurrent flow of liquid derived from a circulating liquid stream which includes (i) a purge stream configured to remove a portion of the circulating liquid having a concentration of H.sub.2SO.sub.4 from the process, and (ii) a liquid make-up stream configured to replace the portion of the circulating liquid that is removed from the circulating liquid stream, the improvement comprising controlling the flow of liquid make-up whereby the concentration of H.sub.2SO.sub.4 in the purge stream is increased to a useful value; and filtering the purge stream to remove unwanted contaminants to yield a clarified purge stream.

SIMULTANEOUS PROCESS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF CARBON BLACK AND CARBON NANOSTRUCTURES

Simultaneous method for the production of carbon black and carbon nanostructures, where the gases produced from the carbon black manufacturing process are utilized as feedstock in an integrated process for the production of carbon nanostructures.

The invention relates to a process and plant for purifying a raw synthesis gas containing hydrogen and carbon monoxide as target components and carbon dioxide and sulfur components as disruptive components by gas scrubbing with a physically acting, liquid scrubbing medium selective for carbon dioxide and sulfur components. The process/the plant comprise an absorption apparatus, a hot regeneration apparatus, a preferably multistage flash regeneration apparatus and a reabsorber column supplied with the first portion of a stripping gas. According to the invention the flash regeneration apparatus is supplied with the second portion of the stripping gas

PROCESS TO CAPTURE SOx ONBOARD VEHICLES AND SHIPS

Provided is a process that may comprise cooling an engine exhaust emissions comprising SO.sub.x on a vehicle that may come from an engine. The cooled engine exhaust emissions comprising SO.sub.x may be passed to one or more absorption units. The SO.sub.x may be extracted from the engine exhaust emissions with a sorbent supported on solid porous media in an absorption unit on the vehicle to form an absorbed SO.sub.x. The absorbed SO.sub.x may be desorbed, followed by forming one or more SO.sub.x product from the desorbed SO.sub.x. The one or more SO.sub.x product may be unloaded to an off-vehicle facility.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TREATING DISCHARGE GAS CONTAINING TARGET GAS IN PLASMA STATE

The present disclosure provides a method for converting the target gas contained in the exhaust gas in plasma phase and an apparatus for implementing the method, the method comprising the steps of: generating a plasma in a conversion region in which the conversion of the target gas occurs; supplying, to the conversion region, a conversion promoting agent containing a conversion promoting element of which the first ionization energy is not greater than 10 eV for promoting the conversion of the target gas; supplying, to the conversion region, a conversion agent that produces conversion products by combining with the dissociation products of the target gas and prevents the dissociation products from recombining into the target gas; and supplying the exhaust gas containing the target gas to the conversion region.

Method for cleaning viscose production off-gases and catalysts for use in the method

A method for cleaning an off-gas from viscose production, essentially containing H.sub.2S and CS.sub.2, comprises passing the gas through a catalytic reactor containing a direct oxidation type catalyst, such as V.sub.2O.sub.5 on silica, to convert H.sub.2S in the gas to elemental sulfur, SO.sub.2 or mixtures thereof, either via the oxygen present in the gas or via oxygen added to the gas stream. Elemental sulfur and SO.sub.2 are removed from the effluent gas from the catalytic reactor, and the unconverted CS.sub.2 is recycled to the viscose production process.
