Membranes for Removing Metallic Species from Amines
The disclosure is directed to removal of metal contaminants from fluids, as well as ligand-modified filter materials useful for carrying out such methods. The filters and methods of this disclosure are particularly effective for removal of metals from liquid compositions comprising amines. Such liquid compositions with significantly reduced amounts of metals can be used in a microelectronic manufacturing process, such as liquids for removing photoresist or liquids used in etching. The ligand-modified filters, such as ligand-modified porous membranes, can be configured for use in a microelectronic manufacturing system, which can be utilized in the system as a point of use metal-removal feature for liquids entering the system.
PROCESS FOR REMOVING LEAD IONS FROM BOLDILY FLUIDS USING METALLATE ION EXCHANGE COMPOSITIONS
A process for removing Pb.sup.2+ toxins from bodily fluids is disclosed. The process involves contacting the bodily fluid with an ion exchange composition to remove the metal toxins in the bodily fluid, including blood and gastrointestinal fluid. Alternatively, blood can be contacted with a dialysis solution which is then contacted with the ion exchange composition. The ion exchange compositions are represented by the following empirical formula:
A.sub.mTi.sub.aNb.sub.1-aSi.sub.xO.sub.y
having either the pharmacosiderite, sitinakite, pharmacosiderite-sitinakite intergrowth topologies or mixtures thereof. A composition comprising the above ion exchange compositions in combination with bodily fluids or dialysis solution is also disclosed. The ion exchange compositions may be supported by porous networks of biocompatible polymers such as carbohydrates or proteins.
METHOD OF PRODUCING A COOLED SYNGAS OF IMPROVED QUALITY
A system and method for processing unconditioned syngas first removes solids and semi-volatile organic compounds (SVOC), then removes volatile organic compounds (VOC), and then removes at least one sulfur containing compound from the syngas. Additional processing may be performed depending on such factors as the source of syngas being processed, the products, byproducts and intermediate products desired to be formed, captured or recycled and environmental considerations.
ADSORBENT-BASED MEMBRANES AND USES THEREOF
The disclosure relates to membranes and membranes systems for the separation of trace components in a fluid mixture.
CHARGED MEMBRANES INCORPORATED WITH POROUS POLYMER FRAMEWORKS
The disclosure relates to composite membranes for selective separation and processing of fluids and industrial applications.
SULFUR-BASED POLYMERS
The present invention relates to sulfur based polymers and a process of making sulfur based polymers. The invention also relates to sorbents comprising the sulfur-based polymers. The invention also relates to the use of such polymers and sorbents in metal remediation or extraction. The invention also relates to methods of removing heavy metals from fluids.
Adsorptive gas separation process and system
An adsorptive gas separation process and system is provided for separating at least a first component from a multi-component fluid mixture, or specifically for separating carbon dioxide from a combustion gas stream. The adsorptive gas separation process comprises an adsorbing step, a first regenerating step, an optional second regenerating step and an optional conditioning step.
Exhaust gas treatment system
A reduction device, an acid gas recovery device, a recovery device collector, and a first removed substance returning line are provided. The reduction device is configured to perform a reduction process to turn iron oxide to reduced iron by adding a reducing agent. The acid gas recovery device is configured to recover CO.sub.2 being acid gas with CO.sub.2 absorbing liquid being acid gas absorbing liquid from exhaust gas containing at least powder-shaped iron-based solid substances and the acid gas, which are discharged from the reduction device. The recovery device collector is configured to collect the iron-based solid substance contained in the absorbing liquid with a filter. The iron-based solid substances collected by the recovery device collector are removed, and removed substances containing the removed iron-based solid substances are returned to the reduction device side through the first removed substance returning line.
Carbon sequestration methods and systems
Methods of sequestering carbon dioxide (CO.sub.2) are provided. Aspects of the methods include contacting a CO.sub.2 containing gaseous stream with an aqueous medium under conditions sufficient to produce a bicarbonate rich product. The resultant bicarbonate rich product (or a component thereof) is then combined with a cation source under conditions sufficient to produce a solid carbonate composition and product CO.sub.2 gas, followed by injection of the product CO.sub.2 gas into a subsurface geological location to sequester CO.sub.2. Also provided are systems configured for carrying out the methods.
CZTS SORBENT
Various embodiments disclosed relate to extraction of target materials using a CZTS sorbent. A method of extracting a target material from a medium includes contacting a copper zinc tin sulfur (CZTS) sorbent with the target material in the medium including the target material to form a used CZTS sorbent that includes the target material.
