A FILTER AND A METHOD FOR REMOVING ALDEHYDE-TYPE VOCs FROM INDOOR AIR

A filter and a method for removing aldehyde-type VOCs from indoor air are disclosed. The filter includes a casing acting as a container. The container comprises two air-permeable opposite walls through which a volume of said indoor air flows and houses one or more natural polyphenols and a catalytic agent. The filter acts as an absorption filter, reacting irreversibly with the aldehyde-type VOCs of the indoor air. The natural polyphenols are powdered polyphenols selected from resveratrol (3,4′,5-trihydroxystilbene), resorcinol (1,3-benzenediol), pyrogallol (1,2,3-benzenetriol), phloroglucinol (1,3,5-benzenetriol) and hydroquinone (1,4-benzenediol), or combinations thereof. The catalytic agent is a solid sulfonic acid. A mixture of the natural polyphenols and said catalytic agent are present, in the container, as compacted block elements. An air-purifying/decontaminating device comprising the filter is also disclosed.

GAS SEPARATION METHOD AND ZEOLITE MEMBRANE

A gas separation method includes supplying a mixed gas to a zeolite membrane complex and permeating a high permeability gas through the zeolite membrane complex to separate the high permeability gas from other gases. The mixed gas includes a high permeability gas and a trace gas that is lower in concentration than the high permeability gas. The trace gas contains an organic substance whose molar concentration in the mixed gas is higher than or equal to 1.0 mol %. The adsorption equilibrium constant of the organic substance on the zeolite membrane is less than 150 times the adsorption equilibrium constant of the high permeability gas.

SORBENT INDOOR AIR PURIFIER
20230018113 · 2023-01-19 ·

A diffusive air purifier includes an air permeable container containing a chemical sorbent or a sorbent precursor. The sorbent has a chemical composition selected to achieve removal of an air pollutant via a chemical reaction that renders the predetermined air pollutant immobile. A method of manufacturing the diffusive air purifier includes impregnating a porous solid with a solution of sorbent precursor and a binding agent and drying the porous solid. A method of purifying indoor air includes detecting a measured concentration of an airborne chemical in an enclosed location; selecting the diffusive air purifier to adsorb the airborne chemical; and placing the diffusive air purifier in the enclosed location. Air diffuses through the outer container and into the sorbent where the chemical to be removed is retained. Air, free of the target chemical, diffuses out of the container and the process repeats.

ADSORBENT FOR REMOVING METHANOL OR CO2 FROM A HYDROCARBON STREAM
20230212096 · 2023-07-06 ·

A process of removing methanol, CO.sub.2, or both from a hydrocarbon stream is described. The process uses an adsorbent comprising binderless type 3A zeolite. The adsorbent has high methanol removal capacity and low olefin co-adsorption capacity, as well as low reactivity in an olefin stream. This allows reduced adsorbent loading while maintaining downstream catalyst performance and product quality. The adsorbent comprises a type 3A zeolite comprising less than 5% of a binder and an ion exchange ratio of 30% to 70%. The adsorption process can obtain an outlet methanol content of 1 ppmw or less.
