Methods and systems for detecting barrier blockage in a gas detector are disclosed. In some embodiments, a gas detector comprises a barrier configured to define a sensing chamber of the gas detector. The gas detector further comprises a radiation detection system. The radiation detection system comprises a radiation source and a detector. The radiation detection system may be configured for generating output signals related to radiation transmitted through the barrier. The gas detector comprises a controller operatively connected to the radiation detection system. The controller is configured to: determine an amount of radiation transmitted through the barrier based on the output signals; and determine a condition of the barrier based on the determined amount of radiation, wherein the determined condition indicates whether the barrier is blocked.

CONTINUOUS DIAFILTRATION BY MEANS OF TANK CYCLING
20230211291 · 2023-07-06 ·

Processes and systems for filtering a liquid sample are provided. Batches of a liquid sample can be routed to two or more cycling tanks (e.g., first and second cycling tanks). Upon filling a first cycling tank, a first batch of the liquid sample can be routed to a filtration assembly by a continuous diafiltration process that includes routing produced retentate back to the first cycling tank or to a collection vessel. Upon filling a second cycling tank, a second batch of the liquid sample is routed to the filtration assembly by a continuous diafiltration process that includes routing produced retentate back to the second cycling tank or to the collection vessel. The filling and continuous diafiltration of batches of the liquid sample continues to alternate between the two or more cycling tanks until a total product volume is processed.

FIELD FLOW FRACTIONATOR

The present disclosure describes a field flow fractionator including (1) a top plate assembly including a first non-corrosive material, at least three fluid fittings machined into the first non-corrosive material, a top cavity machined into the first non-corrosive material, and at least one top plate o-ring configured to form a horizontal geometry of a separation channel, (2) a membrane, (3) a bottom plate assembly including a second non-corrosive material, a bottom cavity machined into the second non-corrosive material, a frit configured to be placed into the bottom cavity, and at least one bottom plate o-ring configured to seal the bottom plate assembly to the top plate assembly, such that a top surface of the second non-corrosive material and a top surface of the frit are machined to be coplanar, and (4) where the top plate assembly, the membrane, and the bottom assembly define the separation channel.

WATER PURIFICATION APPARATUS, SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLNG AT LEAST ONE FLUID PROPERTY

The present disclosure relates to a water purification apparatus that comprises a reverse osmosis device, RO-device, producing a purified water flow and to a corresponding method. The proposed method comprises detecting at least one fluid property of purified water in the purified water path and regulating a flow rate of water in the recirculation path to fulfil one or more predetermined criteria of the purified water in the purified water path, based on the at least one detected fluid property. The present disclosure also relates to a computer program and a computer program product implementing the method.

Venting system for a mixing apparatus

A filter unit for a mixing apparatus includes a hydrophilic filter and a hydrophobic vent filter. The hydrophilic filter is configured to receive a fluid including a liquid and gas. The hydrophilic filter is further configured to sterilize the liquid. The hydrophobic vent filter is configured to receive the gas from the hydrophilic filter. The hydrophobic vent filter further includes a vent and a membrane configured to separate an interior of the filter unit from an exterior of the filter unit, the gas being vented from the filter unit by flowing across the membrane and out of the vent. In some embodiments, the filter unit further includes a defoaming device configured to receive gas, foam comprised the liquid containing trapped gas, and some of the liquid from the hydrophilic filter and is further configured to release at least some of the gas from the foam.
