Diagnostic methods and apparatus for electrodialysis
The present disclosure is directed to ion-exchange systems and devices that can monitor key parameters related to the performance of the ion-exchange device. Specifically, the ion-exchange systems and devices disclosed herein can provide real time voltage drop across groups of membrane pairs using diagnostic spacer borders between the pairs. In addition, the ion-exchange systems and devices disclosed herein can monitor the compression force applied by the compression plates holding the ion-exchange systems and devices together.
MONITORING A REVERSE-OSMOSIS DEVICE USED WITH DIALYSIS DEVICES
The present invention concerns an electronic safety system for an RO device which is configured to be used with at least one dialysis device (e.g., a hemodialysis or a peritoneal dialysis device). The system comprises the RO device, which is configured for the production of ultrapure water and which includes a sensor unit for collecting sensor data and whereby the RO device comprises an electronic data interface in order to send the sensor data collected by the sensor unit; and it also comprises an analysis unit which is configured to analyze a water sample with regards to safety requirements and for example with regard to contamination and to generate result data whereby the analysis unit also includes an analysis interface in order to send the generated result data in electronic form; and a network for the data exchange between the medical entities, for example between the RO device and the analysis unit.
Filter including RFID tag
A filter assembly including an RFID tag, for use in monitoring fluid processing, as well as a system and a method for monitoring fluid processing, and a filter for use in the filter assembly, are disclosed.
WATER TREATMENT DEVICE
The water treatment device according to the present disclosure includes: an electrochemical cell having electrodes including a positive electrode and a negative electrode, and a bipolar membrane; a tank; a power supply configured to apply power to the electrodes; a water circulation flow path having at least the tank and the electrochemical cell and through which water circulates; a circulation device configured to circulate water in the water circulation flow path; a raw water supply path configured to supply raw water to the water circulation flow path; and a control device. In performing water softening treatment in the electrochemical cell where power is applied to the electrodes so as to remove ions from raw water and soft water is produced, the control device drives the circulation device so as to circulate water in the water circulation flow path.
Method and System for Operating a High Recovery Separation Process
A reverse osmosis system and method includes a pump pressurizing a feed stream, a first and second membrane array that generates permeate and brine streams. A first energy recovery device uses first energy from the second brine stream to pressurize the first brine stream. A first and second auxiliary and bypass valves are associated with the first and second energy recovery device. A second energy recovery device uses second energy from the second brine stream to increase a second pressure of the feed stream. A first flowmeter generates a first flow signal for the first permeate stream. A second flowmeter generates a second flow signal for of the second permeate stream. A third flowmeter generates a third flow signal for the second brine stream. A motor drives the first energy recovery device. A controller controls the in response to the flow signals.
MEMBRANE FILTRATION DEVICE, FILTRATION MEMBRANE CLEANING METHOD, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING FILTRATION MEMBRANE
A membrane filtration device including a filtration mode for filtrating water to be treated by passing the water to be treated from a primary side to a secondary side of a filtration membrane and a filtration membrane cleaning mode for cleaning the filtration membrane by passing ozone water from the secondary side to the primary side of the filtration membrane, wherein the membrane filtration device includes an inter-membrane differential pressure controller for controlling an inter-membrane differential pressure ?P, and is configured such that in the filtration membrane cleaning mode, the inter-membrane differential pressure controller performs control to gradually lower the inter-membrane differential pressure ?P twin a predetermined initial differential pressure ?P1 to a final differential ?P2, which is a value lower than the ?P1.
Plunger pumping arrangement for a hollow fiber filter
A fluid filtration assembly includes a filter housing having a first end for fluid connection with a fluid storage vessel. A filter cartridge is disposable within the filter housing, and a plunger pump is coupled at a second end of the filter housing. The plunger pump includes a housing having a rigid portion and a flexible portion. The flexible portion has a plunger-engaging portion for coupling to the plunger of an actuator. The flexible portion selectively movable with respect to the rigid portion via the actuator. The filter cartridge can be a hollow fiber filter. The plunger pump can be configured to induce alternating tangential flow in at least a portion of the assembly. The fluid filtration assembly can be provided as a disposable single-use arrangement.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR NORMALIZATION OF SEAWATER SAMPLES
A system and method retrieves liquid stream data associated with a first liquid stream that includes a set of chemical compounds. and a set of parameters. The system also retrieves reference data that is associated with a reference liquid stream, and includes a set of reference parameters. The system compares at least a first parameter of the set of liquid-stream parameters with a corresponding reference parameter of the set of reference parameters. The system also controls an output of the first liquid stream based on the comparison of parameters.
WATER REUSE SYSTEMS AND RELATED METHODS AND APPARATUSES
Systems, apparatuses and methods related to treating and/or recycling a wastewater for reuse are described.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR TESTING THE INTEGRITY OF FILTERS
A method for testing integrity of a filter can include pressurizing an upstream side of the filter to a test pressure and performing a check step that includes determining a flow rate of fluid from the upstream side to a downstream side of the filter, comparing the determined flow rate with a flow range including a flow threshold, and setting stop criteria based on the comparison.
