SELF-PRESERVING BIODEGRADABLE ENVIRONMENTAL DNA FILTER
An inline filter housing with a biodegradable, hydrophilic material that operates in conjunction with a field sampling apparatus to both concentrate field sampled environmental DNA particles from water samples and to automatically preserve the captured DNA via desiccation, thus avoiding filter membrane transfer steps, chemicals or cold storage preservation requirements. The hydrophilic filter housing is capable of rapidly preserving the field sampled environmental DNA captured on the filter membrane at ambient field temperatures.
TANGENTIAL FLOW FILTER SYSTEM FOR THE FILTRATION OF MATERIALS FROM BIOLOGIC FLUIDS
Systems and methods for filtering materials from biologic fluids are discussed. Embodiments may be used to filter cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) from a human or animal subject. In an example, CSF is separated into a permeate and retentate using a tangential flow filter. The retentate is filtered again and then returned to the subject with the permeate. During operation of the system, various parameters may be modified, such as flow rate and waste rate.
Integrated ultrafiltration membrane and ion-exchange filtration system
An ion-exchange and ultrafiltration filter system having an exterior housing having an inlet and an outlet with an ultrafiltration membrane provided within the housing along a central axis about a central portion of the housing with an ion-exchange membrane provided within the housing between the ultrafiltration membrane and the housing. The ion-exchange and ultrafiltration filter system being capable of being configured so as to provide two-step filtration in a plurality of modes, either ion-exchange to ultrafiltration, or ultrafiltration to ion-exchange.
ULTRAPURE-WATER PRODUCTION SYSTEM
The ultrapure-water production system includes an auxiliary treatment apparatus and a dead-end filtration apparatus. The auxiliary treatment apparatus treats water such that the number of microparticles present in water treated by the auxiliary treatment apparatus is 800 to 1200 particles/mL. The dead-end filtration apparatus includes a filtration membrane that is a microfiltration membrane having pores formed in the surface of the membrane at an opening ratio of 50% to 90% with a size of 0.05 to 1 m, and having a thickness of 0.1 to 1 mm, or an ultrafiltration membrane having pores formed in the surface of the membrane with a size of 0.005 to 0.05 m, the number of the pores being 1E13 to 1E15 pores/m.sup.2, the ultrafiltration membrane having a thickness of 0.1 to 1 mm and a transmembrane pressure of 0.02 to 0.10 MPa at a permeation flux of 10 m.sup.3/m.sup.2/d.
MONOLITHIC MEMBRANE FILTRATION STRUCTURE
A filtration structure with a membrane for filtering liquids, includes a monolith including a support formed from a porous inorganic material of permeability K.sub.s, the support having a tubular general shape with a main axis, an upstream face, a downstream face, a peripheral surface and an internal part; a plurality of channels parallel to the main axis of the support, formed in the internal part of the support, the channels being separated from each other by inner walls formed from the porous inorganic material; the channels being blocked at one or other of their upstream or downstream ends in the direction of circulation of the liquid, to define, respectively, inlet channels and outlet channels for the liquid, so as to force the liquid to pass through the porous walls separating the inlet and outlet channels, and a membrane covering the inner surface of at least the inlet channels.

GRAPHENE OXIDE MEMBRANES FOR FILTERING ORGANIC SOLUTIONS
This invention relates to membranes that can be used to remove solutes from organic solutions. The invention also relates to methods of using said membranes and the use of said membranes to filter organic solutions. The membranes are thin graphene oxide (GO) laminate membranes.
LINEAR COMPRESSOR
Provided is a linear compressor. The linear compressor includes a cylinder disposed in a shell to define a compression space for a refrigerant, a piston installed to reciprocate in the cylinder, a motor assembly that allows the piston to move in an axial direction of the cylinder and thereby to compress the refrigerant introduced into the compression space, a nozzle which is provided in the cylinder and through which a portion of the refrigerant introduced into the compression space passes, and a cylinder filter installed in the cylinder and disposed at an inlet-side of the nozzle. At least one or more surfaces of the cylinder filter are oil-repellent coated.
