Refrigerator appliance and corresponding shelving system

A bottle support configured to interact with a shelf includes a brace, hooks, and resilient clips. The brace defines a notch configured to engage bottles disposed on the shelf. The hooks extend from the brace and are configured to engage an upper region of the shelf such that bottle holder slidably engages the shelf. The resilient clips extend downward from the hooks and are configured to snap onto a lower region of the shelf to connect the brace to the shelf. The engagement between the hooks and the shelf is configured to facilitate lateral movement of the brace. The engagement between the hooks and the shelf is configured to restrict forward and rearward movement of the brace. A support structure is mounted beneath a shelf in a manner that defines a vertical axis, and a rack or wheel is mounted on the support structure for rotation relative to the support structure. Containers resiliently snap into circumferentially spaced C-shaped clips defined by the rack. On various embodiments, the support structure includes intermediate components that accommodate sliding and/or pivoting of the rack relative to the shelf, and/or a user may selectively remove the rack from the support structure. When the rack is mounted on the support structure, a user may rotate the rack relative to the support structure to alternatively rotate the containers to a forwardmost position relative to the shelf.

Each support comprises cradles aligned parallel to the same longitudinal direction to form a column. Each cradle of one of the supports is aligned with a cradle of the other supports along the transverse direction, to form a row. Each support may individually support a bottle in a longitudinal position, where the bottle is arranged on the column of cradles, forming transverse wedges preventing the bottle from rolling. The supports may collectively support the bottle in a transverse position, where the bottle is arranged on one of the rows of cradles forming longitudinal wedges preventing the bottle from rolling.
