Process Emulsification Simulator
20230142314 · 2023-05-11 ·

A small-scale, batch-wise device to simulate high-shear, short-duration emulsification of fluids from various industrial processes at elevated temperatures and pressures for the purpose of determining the quality and stability of those emulsions under different conditions and with different additives. A threaded, transparent tube capable high temperature and pressure is fitted with a threaded bearing with a shaft sealed gas tight at two points with spring-loaded, internally-facing, open rings. A socket head on the external end of the shaft held on a high-speed motor-drive rotates mixing blades on the internal end of the shaft. Process fluids and additives are added to the tube with a vaporizing liquid. The tube is sealed, heated to the process temperature under pressure, then inverted onto the motor drive, by which the blades are rotated at high-speed for a short duration. The tube is righted and the emulsion observed over time at process temperature under pressure.

A mixer is transportable and storable without using much space. A mixer includes a body including a motor and an output shaft rotatable when driven by the motor, extending downward, and being connectable to a mixer shaft, a handle attachable to the body, and a lock unit located on the body. The lock unit is engageable with the handle at an attachment position of the handle to the body to lock the handle at the attachment position. The lock unit is operable to disengage from the handle to unlock the handle at the attachment position.

Rotary machine with adjustable leakage gap

A rotary machine for acting on a process fluid includes an impeller, a shaft, a drive, a seal and a flush casing. The impeller acts on the process fluid and is mounted on the shaft. The drive is connected to the shaft and rotates the shaft and the impeller about an axial direction. The seal has a sealing element sealing the shaft during rotation of the shaft. The flush casing receives a flushing fluid for flushing the sealing element, and delimits an annular flush chamber extending about the sealing element. The flush casing includes a bushing surrounding the sealing element and delimits a radial leakage gap arranged between the sealing element and the bushing. The bushing delimits an axial leakage gap between the impeller and the bushing, and the width of the axial leakage gap in the axial direction is adjustable.

Reactor systems

This disclosure relates to equipment utilized to manufacture chemical agents, particularly biopharmaceuticals. In some embodiments, reactor systems comprising a mobile carriage assembly; a disposable reaction container removably attached to the carriage assembly; and, a carriage holder into which the mobile carriage assembly may be removably inserted are provided.

Industrial Mixing Machine
20230166225 · 2023-06-01 ·

An industrial mixing machine is disclosed for mixing material to be mixed in mixing containers that are open on the connection side and differ in at least one feature of their design, wherein one mixing container is attachable in each case to the mixing head of the mixing machine for mixing the material to be mixed contained therein, and wherein at least two mixing tools differing in at least one feature of their design are mountable on a mixing head of the mixing machine. The mixing machine has a detection device which is configured to determine whether the mixing tool currently mounted on the mixing head matches with the mixing container which is to be connected to the mixing head and in which the material to be mixed is located, and a safety device in communication with the detection device, which prevents the mixing tool and the mixing container opening from being brought together when the detection device detects that the mixing tool mounted on the mixing head does not match with the mixing container.

Jar with integrated stirring device
