PHOTOCATALYTIC AEROSOL
A self-activating photoactive aerosol is presented, comprising an anion-containing mass composition having a mass ratio of nitrate anions and/or nitrogen-oxygen compounds to chlorides ranging from 1 part nitrate anions and/or nitrogen-oxygen compounds to 200 parts chlorides, up to 10 parts nitrate anions and/or nitrogen-oxygen compounds to 1 part chlorides, and the composition has a pH in a range of less than or equal to 3 to greater than or equal to 1. Also disclosed is method and apparatus for producing a self-activating photoactive aerosol.
Filament extension atomizers
An atomization device includes a pair of counter-rotating rollers, a fluid source configured to coat at least one of the rollers in a feed fluid, and a baffle unit. The counter-rotation of the rollers stretches the feed fluid into a fluid filament between the two diverging surfaces of the rollers. The stretched fluid filaments break into a plurality of droplets at a capillary break-up point of the feed fluid. The baffle unit introduces a baffle fluid within the interior of the device and the baffle fluid transports formed droplets of the feed fluid from the atomization device. Excess or misguided atomized fluid droplets are collected by the baffle unit and are recycled back into the device for use in later atomization processes. The variation of atomization device parameters allows for the selection of droplets having desired physical parameters.
Methods and systems for creating aerosols
Aerosols can be created by filament stretching and breaking of Newtonian and non-Newtonian fluids by applying a strain to and stretching the fluid. The fluid is stretched along a strain pathway and forms a fluid filament between diverging surfaces. The stretched fluid filament breaks into droplets that can be harvested to form a mist or aerosol. The aerosol creation systems can include one or more pairs of counter-rotating rollers that are positioned adjacent to each other that stretch the fluid or a pair of pistons that move toward and away from each other to stretch the fluid. Some aerosol creation systems can include multiple pairs of counter-rotating rollers that are positioned in a circular, oval, or linear pattern. The aerosol creation system with multiple pairs of counter-rotating rollers can generate mist is one or more directions and can be positioned between two concentric rings or linearly, among other configurations.
CATALYST PARTICLE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THEREOF
A method for producing catalyst particles is disclosed and includes forming a solution including a solvent and a material including catalyst material, wherein the material including catalyst material is dissolved or emulsified in the solvent; aerosolizing the formed solution to produce droplets including the material including catalyst material; and treating the droplets to produce catalyst particles or intermediate catalyst particles from the material including catalyst material comprised in the droplets. A method for producing nanomaterials, an apparatus, a catalyst particle and a solution droplet for the production of a catalyst particle are also disclosed.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR THE SYNTHESIS OF NANOPARTICLES INCLUDING STRAINED NANOPARTICLES
A method for synthesizing nanoparticles includes aerosolizing a precursor solution in the presence of a flowing carrier gas to yield a reactant stream, the precursor solution comprising a volatile solvent and a nanoparticle precursor. The method further includes heating the reactant stream to a temperature above a boiling point of the volatile solvent to form a product stream comprising a plurality of nanoparticles, cooling the product stream, and passing the product stream through a collection liquid to collect the nanoparticles from the product stream.
Aerosol Generator, In Particular Soot Generator
An aerosol generator, in particular a soot generator. The aerosol generator includes a combustion chamber, in which fuel can be burned with an oxidizing agent in at least one soot-particle-creating flame, and a fluid feeding device for feeding fuel and an oxidizing agent into the combustion chamber. The fluid feeding device has at least three feed lines, the outlet-side end portions of which run parallel, so that at least three fluids of different types, in particular gases, can be introduced into the combustion chamber unmixed and in a parallel inflow direction.

High-throughput monodisperse aerosols of micro-shell particles
Disclosed herein is a simple method for generation of high-throughput aerosols of monodisperse micro-shell particles. To create the aerosol, small nozzles are employed blowing slightly compressed air on a thin liquid film. This allows one to generate bubble aerosols including particles having a thin liquid shell surrounding a gas core, which are suspended in a carrier gas flow or environment. The diameter of the created liquid shells is uniform and scales with the inner diameter of the blowing nozzle, enabling control on the size of the produced monodispersed aerosol and formation of particles between few microns to several hundred of microns in outer diameter.
Method for producing a quantum dot
A method for producing a quantum dot including crystalline nanoparticle fluorescent material, wherein, using a first precursor solution and a second precursor solution containing different elements each other, the second precursor solution is sprayed as an aerosol on the heated first precursor solution, or both the first precursor solution and the second precursor solution are sprayed on a heated solvent as aerosols, and the first precursor solution and the second precursor solution are reacted with each other to synthesize a core particle containing the different elements. The method for producing quantum dots, can suppress the non-uniformity of the particle size of the quantum dots and accompany increase in the distribution of emission wavelengths in large scale synthesis.
