The base includes a plurality of nesting units extending upwardly away from the first surface of the base. Each nesting unit includes a hollow body having a first open end distal from the first surface of the base and an opposing second open end. The first plate has a first surface and an opposing second surface. The first plate includes a plurality of apertures extending from the first surface to the second surface of the first plate. Each aperture of the first plate is generally aligned with a respective nesting unit of the base.
Pipette carousel with germicidal lamp
An apparatus for decontaminating and storing lab instruments such as pipettes. A carousel feature of the apparatus provides convenient access and allows multiple items to be decontaminated at the same time. The ultraviolet lamp directs UV radiation to surface contaminations of the instruments and effectively eliminates various microorganisms.
PIPETTING DEVICE COMPRISING A FLUID VOLUME SENSOR AND FLUID PROCESSING SYSTEM
The invention relates to a pipetting device having tube with an opening at one end for suctioning or discharging a sample fluid, and can be operatively connected to a pressure generation device at the other end. A first electrode is formed on the pipetting device that forms a measuring capacitor together with a second electrode formed by at least one part of the sample fluid and that can be received in the tube and the measuring capacitor is operatively connected to a measuring unit, and the measuring unit is designed to determine a volume of the suctioned or discharged sample fluid according to the capacity of the measuring capacitor. The invention also relates to a fluid processing system having a pipetting device of this type, as well as a method for determining a processed fluid volume during pipetting with a pipetting device of this type.
Syringe nest assembly

The base includes a plurality of nesting units extending upwardly away from the first surface of the base. Each nesting unit includes a hollow body having a first open end distal from the first surface of the base and an opposing second open end. The first plate has a first surface and an opposing second surface. The first plate includes a plurality of apertures extending from the first surface to the second surface of the first plate. Each aperture of the first plate is generally aligned with a respective nesting unit of the base.
Adjustable mount for automatic liquid handling applications
According to an example aspect of the present invention, there is provided an apparatus for mounting a device on a manipulator, wherein a second unit is adjustably attached to a first unit so that it is movable in at least one direction with respect to the base plate and wherein the first unit has at least a locked position and an open position, the mounting rail being movable with respect to the first unit when the first unit is in the open position and wherein the mounting rail is fixed with respect to the first unit when the first unit is in the closed position.
LABWARE ALIGNING SYSTEMS AND LIQUID HANDLING SYSTEMS AND METHODS INCLUDING SAME
A labware aligning system for use with a labware includes a frame and fixation system. The frame includes a seat. The fixation system includes a pusher and a pusher actuator. The pusher is movable relative to the frame between an open position and a closed position. The pusher actuator includes an actuator linkage and a biasing mechanism. The actuator linkage is configured to: move the pusher from the closed position toward the open position when the actuator linkage is displaced; and, permit the pusher to move toward the closed position when the actuator linkage is not displaced. The biasing mechanism is operative to force the pusher toward the closed position when the actuator linkage is not displaced and to thereby cause the pusher to align the labware in the seat.
RACK FOR A FILTRATION DEVICE
A rack for a diagnostic robot with at least one support for at least one container; at least one gas-outlet to supply the at least one container with a gas at a predefined but individually adjustable pressure level; a first gas pump to generate a gas at a predefined super-atmospheric pressure level; a second gas pump to generate a gas at a pre-defined sub-atmospheric pressure level; a first tubing system attached to the first gas pump and holding the gas generated by the first gas pump; a second tubing system attached to the second gas pump and holding the gas generated by the second gas pump; and at least one tube bridge, wherein one end of the bridge connects via a first valve into the first tubing system and the other end of the bridge connects via a second valve into the second tubing system, and wherein the at least one gas-outlet is connected to the center of the bridge.
BUCKET INSERT FOR USE IN A CENTRIFUGE
A bucket insert for use in a centrifuge is disclosed. The bucket insert comprises an insert body, the insert body comprising a plurality of elongated receptacles for receiving elongated sample vessels. The bucket insert is configured for orienting the elongated sample vessels in a tilted orientation. In the tilted orientation, at least some of the elongated sample vessels are oriented in a non-parallel fashion.
RACK FOR AUTOMATED ANAYLZER
A rack for automated analyser systems and provides a rack for automated analyser systems, the rack comprising a main body having an extended front side and a corresponding extended reverse side as well as at least two side walls defining at least one opening that is accessible from the main body's upper side for taking up a container for a sample that is to be processed; an upper insert that is arranged onto an upper end of the main body, wherein the upper insert has openings with a predefined diameter defining the upper surface of the rack.
Pipetting device having a pipette tip detection unit and method for detecting a pipette tip on a pipetting device
The invention relates to a pipetting device having an exchangeable pipette tip for suctioning and discharging fluid volumes for use in automated laboratory systems. The invention relates to a pipetting device having a pipette tip detection unit and for detecting a pipette tip on a pipette device of this type. A detection unit detects whether a pipette tip is connected to the pipette tube or determines a characteristic feature of the connected pipette tip. The pipette tip forms at least one portion of a first electrode when the pipette tip is in electrical operative contact with the pipette tube and, e.g., a pipette tip holder, a contact for setting down the pipette tip holder or a working table over which the pipette tube can be moved forms at least one portion of a second electrode.
