The present device is a specimen containment unit comprising; a container, wherein the container has a first portion of a locking mechanism positioned distal to an opening, and a funnel having a base and a plurality of segments attached to the base and a second portion of a locking mechanism integrated into the base, wherein the segments protrude a predetermined distance and angle from the base, wherein the first portion of the locking mechanism is designed to mate with the second portion of the locking mechanism to secure the funnel to the container.

Receiving frame for receiving a support plate for pipette tips
11878304 · 2024-01-23 · ·

A receiving frame for a support plate for pipette tips that is formed from two opposing longitudinal walls and two opposing transverse walls, each has an upper side and a lower side and laterally enclose an interior space is disclosed. The upper sides of the longitudinal walls and transverse walls together form a circumferential support surface on which a support plate for pipette tips can be reversibly placed. The receiving frame has a footprint on the lower side of the longitudinal walls and the transverse walls.

Rapid thermal cycling for sample analyses and processing
10569273 · 2020-02-25 · ·

A method and an apparatus for thermal processing of nucleic acid in a thermal profile. The method employs at least a first bath and a second bath, the method further employing a reactor holder for holding reactor(s) accommodating reaction material containing the nucleic acid. The method includes maintaining bath mediums in the baths at two different temperatures; and alternately allowing the reactor(s) to be in the two baths in a plurality of thermal cycles to alternately attain a predetermined high target temperature T.sub.HT, and a predetermined low target temperature T.sub.LT, wherein the bath medium in at least one of the baths is a high thermal conductivity powder.

Interface for a health measurement and monitoring system

A testing system and method for providing a testing system includes a user interface having a display for displaying information relating to measurements of health data and an input device for receiving information from a user relating to the health data. Provided in connection with the user interface is an autologging feature adapted to provide the user with user-selectable options on the display. Also provided is a statistical operation adapted to provide the user with enhanced information relating to the measurements of health data. Also provided is at least one indicator for indicating information relating to the number of health data readings that are within a target range, the number of health data readings that are above the target range and the number of health data readings that are below the target range.

DISPENSER, SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR TAKING UP AND DISCHARGING FLUID VOLUMES
20200009546 · 2020-01-09 · ·

A dispenser for taking up and discharging fluid volumes which has an exchangeable piston-cylinder unit. The dispenser has a housing and a device for incremental distance measurement that, when there is relative movement between the piston and the cylinder, the distance traveled by the piston relative to the housing can be determined incrementally. The dispenser has a piston actuation member which can be releasably connected to the piston moving the piston in order to take up and/or discharge fluid volumes. The dispenser has a position determining device which has a first position element and a second position element. The first position element is fixed in or on the housing of the dispenser. The second position element is coupled so as to be able to move with the piston actuation member. The position determining device is for continuously sensing the position of the second position element.

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR HANDLING BIOLOGICAL CELL CULTURES

A method and device for handling supports which support biological cell cultures or auxiliary agents for treatment of biological cell cultures, using one or more modules, at least one of which is a handling device. Each one of a plurality of supports rests with its edges on support elements, and, depending on the type of supports or the type of auxiliary means supported thereby, the supports require different storage heights, some of which are greater than one or more times a standardized vertical spacing of the support elements. The supports have an information carrier, the information of which can be read by a reading device and can be evaluated by a computing device. For optimal use of the compartments of the storage device, the information contains details about the storage height of the support in question and the handling of the supports is performed using these details.

STORAGE BOX FOR PIPETTE TIPS
20190336979 · 2019-11-07 · ·

A storage box for plastic pipette tips that has a frame part with two longitudinal walls and two transverse walls that enclose an interior space laterally. The storage box has a support plate arranged on the upper side of the frame part with a large number of bearing openings that plastic pipette tips can be inserted. The storage box also includes a pipette tip contact piece on the underside of the frame part for contacting a plastic pipette tip inserted into one of the bearing openings.

Suction device for pipette with improved usability
11964270 · 2024-04-23 · ·

The present invention relates to a suction device (1) to be used together with a pipette, in particular a Pasteur pipette. The suction device comprises a base element (2) with the bore (2a) for the insertion of a pipette (5), and a body connected to the base element, wherein the interior of the body is hollow, wherein at least the body is made of a flexible material, so that the inner volume of the body (3) is variable. Herein, the base element is formed in a polygonal or elliptic shape, so that the shape of the base element is not round and hence prevents a rolling of the suction device over a lab bench or the like.

REAGENT STORAGE CABINET AND AUTOMATIC ANALYZING APPARATUS INCLUDING REAGENT STORAGE CABINET

A reagent storage arranged at a predetermined position where predetermined work is able to be performed by a robot. The reagent storage cabinet includes: a container accommodating portion including an upper-surface opening portion and accommodating a reagent container; and a storage cabinet main body including a front-surface opening portion through which the container accommodating portion is put in and pulled out and a storage space communicating with the front-surface opening portion and accommodating the container accommodating portion. In an accommodated state that is a state where the container accommodating portion is accommodated in storage cabinet main body, the upper-surface opening portion of the container accommodating portion is sealed. In a pulled-out state that is a state where the container accommodating portion is pulled out from storage cabinet main body, the robot is able to directly access, from above, a reagent in the reagent container accommodated in the container accommodating portion.
