A device is described including a lid, a collection portion support, and a collection portion with a surface for receiving a biological sample, the lid includes a window and a window holder, the surface defines a first plane, the collection portion includes a first, a second, and a third position markers, each position marker indicates a center point marker, the center points define a second plane that has a line of intersection with the first plane, the device has an interior volume defined partially by the collection portion support, the collection portion, the window, and the window holder, the window allows visual inspection of the position markers, the collection portion support has a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet with a fluid path from the fluid inlet to the fluid outlet via the interior volume.
SELF-CALIBRATING BILIRUBIN TEST CARD SYSTEM AND METHOD
A sample of blood is placed on a bilirubin test strip and plasma separated from the red blood cells. The bilirubin test strip is located on a test card along with a set of calibration images, the colors of the calibration images being associated with known plasma bilirubin levels. A photograph is taken of the test card. The bilirubin level of the blood sample is determined by, within the photograph, interpolating the color of the plasma and the colors of the closest colored calibration images.
Mailable inspector collector
The Mailable Inspector Collector is a (1) single-use device for (2) user-friendly collection, inspection, and (3) rendering of test results to confirm or deny the presence of a pathogen using (4) Nanotechnology with an (5) portable isothermal assay methodology, which may (6) reveal results, via color change and/or fluorescence (e.g. FAM channel excitation 470 nm to 520 nm.), the presence of at least one specific pathogen. The Mailable Inspector Collector invention can be (7) administered, distributed and disposed of by leveraging a delivery infrastructure, such as that offered by the United States Postal Service (USPS), to address the following known issues: (8) Mass distribution to the public; (9) Recycling of used elements; (10) Easy non-intrusive manner whereby a Test Subject may contribute a sample; (11) Easy manner to discern test results within minutes without complex laboratory equipment; (12) Facilitate relevant data collection as well as contact tracing.

A protein memory cell and a protein memory system are provided. The protein memory cell includes: first and second electrodes disposed to be spaced apart from each other on a micro channel; a gap region defined between the first and second electrodes on the micro channel; an outer region defined as an opposite side to the gap region based on the first or second electrode on the micro channel; and a photosensitive protein changing conductivity between the first and second electrodes while moving between the gap region and the outer region depending on structural conversion of a chromophore.

A chemical and/or biochemical apparatus (10) includes a thermal mount (14) having wells (26) for receiving reaction vessels (12), a thermal module (16) having a first side thermally coupled to the thermal mount (14), a first heat sink (18) thermally coupled to a second side of the thermal module, the heat sink (18) having a body and thermally conductive fins (32) extending outwards from the body of the first heat sink (18), and a printed circuit board (54) having electronic components for controlling at least the thermal module (16), an excitation light source (62), and a light sensor (52). A first set of light waveguides (60) delivers excitation light to a reaction vessel, and a second set of light waveguides (38) receives light from a reaction vessel and delivers the light to the light sensor (52). The printed circuit board (54), the excitation light source (62), the light sensor (52) and the light waveguides (38, 60) are arranged within an interior space (5) of the first heat sink (18).

A receptacle holder for supporting at least one fluid-containing receptacle includes a body and an RFID transponder. The body includes an electrically conductive portion defining a first recess configured to receive at least a first fluid-containing receptacle, and an electrically non-conductive portion attached to the electrically conductive portion. The RFID transponder is disposed on the electrically non-conductive portion of the body, and stores information about the receptacle holder. The receptacle holder can also include the first fluid-containing receptacle received within the first recess.
SAFETY LIGHT CURTAIN TO DISABLE CAROUSEL ROTATION
A digital slide scanning apparatus includes a safety light curtain that operates to disable the motor that rotates the carousel when the presence of an object (e.g., the fingers of an operator) is detected within a predetermined area of the carousel. The light curtain also operates to disable the motor that rotates the carousel when an improperly positioned glass slide or slide rack is detected. The digital slide scanning apparatus also includes a multi-color status indicator for each rack slot that indicates the rack slot location of an improperly positioned glass slide or slide rack.
Multiplex slide plate device and operation method thereof
A multiplex slide plate device and an operation method thereof are provided. The multiplex slide plate device includes a slide plate and a sacrificial layer. The slide plate has reaction vessels arranged in an array, an injection hole and an exhaust hole, wherein each of the reaction vessels has an opening portion and a bottom portion. The sacrificial layer has a microfluidic channel, wherein the microfluidic channel has an injection channel, a main channel and a distal channel connected to each other. The sacrificial layer is assembled to the slide plate, wherein the main channel faces the opening portion. A sample solution is injected into the injection channel, such that the sample solution flows from the injection channel through the main channel to the distal channel, wherein the sample solution loads into each of the reaction vessels while flowing through the main channel.
