Secure destruction machine
A system includes an enclosure about a path toward a physical damaging system configured for rendering media storage devices inoperable. A scanning system obtains identifying information of a media storage device in the path. A barrier is selectively movable between an accessible state in which media storage device introduction into the enclosure is permitted and a blocking state in which such introduction into the enclosure is prevented. A locking mechanism locks the barrier in the blocking state in response to the barrier being moved to the blocking state. The locking mechanism unlocks the barrier and permits a shift to the accessible state subsequent to the scanning system obtaining the identifying information and subsequent to an action triggered based on the identifying information obtained from the scanning system.
Method and device for comminuting kitchen waste and/or food residues
A method for comminuting kitchen waste and/or food residues includes receiving kitchen waste and/or food residues in a funnel, a base of which is provided with a grinding unit for comminuting the kitchen waste and/or food residues and which is connected by the grinding unit via a product line to a pump for pumping away comminuted kitchen waste and/or food residues, and pumping away the kitchen waste and/or food residues comminuted by the grinding unit. Prior to the pumping-away step, precomminution of the kitchen waste and/or food residues located in the funnel is carried out in the funnel by means of a precomminution unit projecting into the funnel. A correspondingly designed device for implementing the method is also described.
Self-cleaning garbage disposal system, and method of operation
A self-cleaning garbage disposal system is provided including a container having a neck portion leading to a container opening and a flow switch valve for connecting the container to a dishwasher drain hose. The flow switch valve is switchable to an open position to allow dishwasher water to be fed to the container from the dishwasher drain hose and to a closed position to not allow dishwasher water to be fed to the container from the dishwasher drain hose based on a rotational position. The garbage disposal system can include a garbage disposal cap to be rotationally inserted into the container opening, and the flow switch valve operation can respond to the rotational position of the garbage disposal cap. Sensors can be provided on the garbage disposal cap and the neck portion of the container to detect the rotational position of the garbage disposal cap.
Carpet Recycling Process and Method
A carpet recycling method is disclosed. In a toroidal flow pulper, pieces of carpet are disintegrated in a quantity of liquid to form a slurry of fibrous carpet materials and carpet ash. At least a portion of the fibrous carpet materials are separated from the slurry, and the separated fibrous carpet materials are dried. At least a portion of the carpet ash is isolated from the slurry, and the isolated carpet ash is dried. Thus, a first output comprising dried separated fibrous carpet materials is produced, and a second output comprising dried carpet ash is produced.
Garbage disposal waste line unclogging system
An unclogging system for the plumbing of a sink/garbage disposal assembly including a water supply line, a sink drain waste line, a garbage disposal waste line, and an end-outlet tee having a first inlet, a second inlet connected to the sink drain waste line, and an interior baffle disposed adjacent to the first inlet. The system includes a coupling adaptor having a waste-in end attached to the garbage disposal waste line, a waste-out end attached to the first inlet, a hollow interior for the passage of fluid/waste therethrough, and an inlet port. A water jet tube extending through the inlet port into the interior directs water toward the waste-out end and at the baffle. A solenoid valve allowing a flow of water from the water supply line to the water jet tube is coupled to a power outlet, which simultaneously powers the solenoid valve and the garbage disposal.
SOLAR MODULE RECYCLING AND TESTING
Embodiments relate to one or more techniques that may be employed alone or in combination, in the refurbishment or recycling of used solar modules. In certain approaches, a (heated) wire may be used to cut through one or more layers (e.g., front encapsulant, back encapsulant, both front and back encapsulant, backsheet) of a solar module that is being recycled or refurbished. Some approaches may employ testing of a used solar module, alone or in combination with information (e.g., as part of a received package) regarding parameters of a used solar module such as panel size, width, length, height, thickness of glass, or others. According to specific embodiments, used solar modules may be subjected to various cleaning processes at one or more points during refurbishment/recycling.
Method and apparatus for transforming municipal solid organic and inorganic waste into aggregates
Method and apparatus (100) for transforming organic and inorganic solid urban waste into aggregates, comprising an extruding machine connected to a reactor. The extruding machine is formed by an extrusion cylinder (103) through which a piston circulates (104) inside an extrusion cavity (106), which comprises three sections (107, 110, 111) and is fed with a parget obtained after pre-processing the waste. The end (115) of the third section (111) is connected to the reactor (112) through an opening (114). The reactor's longitudinal shaft is formed by a rotatory steel shaft (116) in which some steel blades are arranged (108), whose ends play the roles of cutting, hammering, punching and hydraulic helix as they rotate. Between the end of the blades and the wall of the reactor, there is a clearance of more than 0.1 mm of thickness. The reactor has a discharge valve (300) to discharge the parget present in the boundary area through some openings (304), once it has been processed by a series of pressure, vibration energy and decompression cycles.
A COMMINUTION APPARATUS AND A METHOD FOR PERFORMING SERVICE OF SUCH AN APPARATUS
A comminution apparatus, a method for replacing wear parts of such an apparatus and a cutting table unit for use in such an apparatus are disclosed. The apparatus comprises a cutting module, a drive module and a top module. The main wear parts are present in the cutting module, which may be replaced, in its entirety or in part, without disconnecting the drive module from the apparatus or from an external power source.
SHREDDER FOR COMMINUTING BULK MATERIAL
A shredder includes a shredder box having first and second opposite end walls, and first and second opposite side walls that extend between the first and second end walls. The shredder further includes a shredder rotor positioned within an interior of the shredder box, an access door that is pivotally moveable, and a control system for monitoring various parameters to operate the shredder. A side access region is defined between the first and second end walls when the access door is in the open position. The side access region provides access to the shredder rotor and includes an open region defined between the first and second end walls at the second side of the shredder. The open region has an open top which is free of obstructions extending between the first and second end walls.
