Processes for grinding corn, ground corn products, and processes for making ethanol from the ground corn products. In some examples, a process for making ethanol can include introducing a plurality of corn pieces into a mill. The process can also include milling the corn pieces in the mill to produce a ground corn product. Greater than 25 wt % of the ground corn product can have a particle size of greater than 105 μm, as measured according to AOAC 965.22-1966. Greater than 80 wt % of the ground corn product can have a particle size of 425 μm or less, as measured according to AOAC 965.22-1966. The process can also include processing the ground corn product to produce a fermentation mash that can include ethanol and separating at least a portion of the ethanol from the fermentation mash to produce a stillage.

A scalper apparatus configured to divide a flow of material between filtered and unfiltered streams. The scalper apparatus may include a housing with an upper opening, a primary lower opening for outputting the filtered stream, and a secondary lower opening for outputting the unfiltered stream. The scalper apparatus may include a grate extending across the interior of the housing such that any material leaving the interior through the primary lower opening must pass through the grate while any material unable to pass through the grate is caused to move through the secondary lower opening. The scalper assembly may include a brush assembly with at least one brush movable across the grate, and a carrier assembly configured to carry the at least one brush across substantially an entire top of the grate.

Comminuting device

A comminuting device for solids-conducting liquids includes a housing with an inlet opening, an outlet opening, and a housing interior extending from the inlet opening to the outlet opening, a first comminuting shaft extending through the housing interior and arranged to rotate about a first comminuting axis. A second comminuting shaft extends through the housing interior and is arranged to rotate about a second comminuting axis. A screening device has a screening wall comprising a plurality of slots arranged in the housing interior adjacent to the first comminuting shaft. A clearing device has a plurality of clearing elements which can be moved relative to the screening wall along a movement path and which extend through the plurality of slots starting from a clearing shaft arranged on one side of the filter wall to at least one portion of the movement path.

Comminuting device

A comminuting device for solids-conducting liquids includes a housing with an inlet opening, an outlet opening, and a housing interior extending from the inlet opening to the outlet opening, a first comminuting shaft extending through the housing interior and arranged to rotate about a first comminuting axis. A second comminuting shaft extends through the housing interior and is arranged to rotate about a second comminuting axis. A screening device has a screening wall comprising a plurality of slots arranged in the housing interior adjacent to the first comminuting shaft. A clearing device has a plurality of clearing elements which can be moved relative to the screening wall along a movement path and which extend through the plurality of slots starting from a clearing shaft arranged on one side of the filter wall to at least one portion of the movement path.

Processing system

The invention relates to a processing system, more particularly a stone crusher, with a filling unit (20), which can be filled with material to be crushed, wherein behind the filling unit (20) in the conveying direction or in the filling unit (20), a screening unit (30) is arranged, wherein the screening unit (30) can be vibrated by means of a vibration generator (38), wherein above the screening unit (30) a part of the supplied material is fed to a connected process unit, more particularly a crushing unit (40), and another part is separated out in the screening unit (30), and wherein the separated-out part of the material is fed by means of an adjustable flap of a conveying unit (70) in a bypass position optionally bypassing the connected process unit, more particularly the crushing unit (40), to a conveying device, more particularly a crusher discharge conveyor (60), or in a conveying position is conveyed out of the machine working area by means of a conveying device (50). To reliably and simply prevent the adjustable flap from becoming blocked by screen material, the invention proposes that the flap is attached to the screening unit (30) in such a way that the vibration generator (38) excites it together with the screening unit (30).

Processing system

The invention relates to a processing system, more particularly a stone crusher, with a filling unit (20), which can be filled with material to be crushed, wherein behind the filling unit (20) in the conveying direction or in the filling unit (20), a screening unit (30) is arranged, wherein the screening unit (30) can be vibrated by means of a vibration generator (38), wherein above the screening unit (30) a part of the supplied material is fed to a connected process unit, more particularly a crushing unit (40), and another part is separated out in the screening unit (30), and wherein the separated-out part of the material is fed by means of an adjustable flap of a conveying unit (70) in a bypass position optionally bypassing the connected process unit, more particularly the crushing unit (40), to a conveying device, more particularly a crusher discharge conveyor (60), or in a conveying position is conveyed out of the machine working area by means of a conveying device (50). Processes and structures for recycling carpet and products of such processes

Methods and equipment for the recycling of carpet are disclosed that produce a clean fiber product suitable for industrial use. The methods allow the recovery of face fiber material, for example a polyester, polyolefin, or a polyamide, from carpets that includes a face fiber material, a polypropylene backing material, and an adhesive, and include the steps of mechanically impacting the carpet to break the bonds between the adhesive and the fibrous components, treating the fibrous components to remove adhesive granules from the fibrous components, and optionally separating the polypropylene backing from the face fiber. A clean adhesive/calcium carbonate product can also be produced from this process.
