STATUS MONITORING SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MAGNETIC FILTERS
A status monitoring system includes a filter cap operatively connected to a filter housing having an inlet port and an outlet port. A magnet is affixed to the bottom side of the filter cap and extends down into the filter housing. A first thermistor is embedded in the magnet and physically isolated from the fluid for measuring the lagging temperature of the fluid due to the insulating effect of the filtered magnetite surrounding the magnet, while a second thermistor is placed inside the filter housing for measuring the temperature of the fluid. A difference between the measured temperatures, t, is then determined. When the t reaches a pre-determined point, the status monitoring system would send notification to its user and inform the user to perform the maintenance work on the magnetic filters.
Personal Electrostatic Bioaerosol Sampler with High Sampling Flow Rate
A personal electrostatic bioaerosol sampler (PEBS) for collecting bioaerosols (from virus to pollen) at high sampling flow rates and for measuring personal exposures to bioaerosols in various occupational environments, particularly at their low concentrations and for extended periods of time, and a method of using same, are disclosed. The PEBS includes a base holder, a charging section, and a collection section. Charging section includes a first member inside a center of charging section configured to be connected to positive or negative high voltage and a second member disposed therearound a midpoint of first member inside charging section configured to be grounded such that a plurality of ions are produced for charging a plurality of incoming particles. A collection plate is releasably secured inside collection section such that when collection section is grounded and negative or positive high voltage is connected to collection plate, a plurality of charged incoming particles are deposited onto collection plate by an electrostatic field. A middle section of base holder is configured to partly receive charging section and collection section via an opening therethrough such that charging section is secured to a first side of base holder and collection section is secured to a second side of base holder when sampler is in an assembled configuration.
Automated compensating flow control assembly for a solid material separator
A compensating flow control assembly for a solid material separator such as a magnetic separator or air wash separator. The compensating flow control assembly automatically controls or adjusts the amount of contaminated shot blast media flowing from a hopper to a rotary magnetic drum, in the case where the solid material separator is a magnetic separator, or to an air chamber in the case where the solid material separator is an air wash separator, based upon the amount of contaminated shot blast media being fed to and held by the hopper.
PROBE FOR CHECKING THE PRESENCE OF PARAMAGNETIC PARTICLES IN A TANK
A probe for use with a tank having a wall pierced by an orifice and configured to contain a fluid containing paramagnetic particles. The probe comprises a magnet, a displacement system arranged at the orifice to displace the magnet from a capturing position in which the magnet is bathed in the fluid to a checking position in which the magnet is outside of the tank, and a seal ensuring the seal-tightness of the orifice in the transition from the capturing position to the checking position and vice versa.
DIRECT AIR CARBON CAPTURE SYSTEM
An ionization chamber is provided with a series of parallel plates spaced from each other and with holes passing therethrough. Alternating plates have either a highest high voltage or a lower high voltage provided thereto, such as through a DC transformer coupled to an electric power source. Holes in alternating plates are preferably offset so that airflow through the plates occurs along curving pathways. The plates are sufficiently highly charged to cause carbon dioxide to be ionized and for carbon ions to become trapped within wells defining lowest regions of electric charge within an electric field inside the ionization chamber. Fans control airflow through the ionization chamber. A dehumidifier is provided upstream of the ionization chamber to reduce moisture content within the incoming gas. After the carbon has collected within the wells, harvesting of the carbon ions as carbon nano particle powder can occur within a carbon cache.
Atmospheric water harvesting apparatus
An atmospheric water harvesting apparatus includes a post, a water capturing unit, a drive bearing, a motor, a water collecting member, and a power source. The water capturing unit comprises a cylindric wall. The cylindric wall is positioned concentrically with the post. The cylindric wall comprises an inner surface and an outer surface. The cylindric wall forms an air passageway having an air inlet and an air outlet. The inner surface of the cylindric wall is coated with a layer of triboelectric material. The drive bearing is rotatably mounted about the post. The drive bearing is provided with a plurality of radial bars. The water collecting member is located beneath the water capturing unit to collect water captured by the water capturing unit. The power source is electrically connected to the motor.
AIR CLEANER, AIR CLEANER SYSTEM, AND AIR-CONDITIONING APPARATUS
An air cleaner includes: a generation unit configured to discharge an electric current by being applied with a high voltage, and generate a plurality of types of discharge products; an air-sending device configured to form a flow of air, and spray the plurality of types of discharge products generated from the generation unit to a space; an estimation unit configured to estimate an amount of dust floating in the space by selecting whether an amount of dust floating in the space is a first estimation amount smaller than a predetermined threshold or is a second estimation amount larger than or equal to the predetermined threshold and larger than the first estimation amount; and a control unit configured to control a generation amount of the plurality of types of discharge products to be generated from the generation unit based on the amount of dust estimated by the estimation unit.
VENTILATION SYSTEM IN A MOBILE STRUCTURE AND METHOD FOR OPERATING A VENTILATION SYSTEM IN A MOBILE STRUCTURE
A ventilation system for a mobile structure, in particular a motor vehicle, includes: a variably adjustable filter device including at least one controllable, variable filter characteristic with regard to a pollutant class; means for collecting information about the air quality in the surroundings of the mobile structure and in particular information about the air quality in an interior of the mobile structure; and a control unit for varying filter characteristics of the filter device in a variable, in particular continuous, manner, on the basis of the information about the air quality.
DRAINAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS AND DRAINAGE PROCESSING METHOD
A drainage processing apparatus that processes drainage expelled from a scrubber apparatus is provided. The drainage processing apparatus includes: a magnetic powder adding unit that adds magnetic powders to the drainage; a transfer unit that transfers the drainage; and an adsorbing unit that: is provided in the transfer unit; adsorbs bound matter that is contained in the drainage and contains at least a process-target substance and the magnetic powders; and retains the bound matter in the transfer unit. In one example, the adsorbing unit is able to re-release adsorbed bound matter into the transfer unit. In one example, the adsorbing unit has a permanent magnet provided to be directly insertable into and removable from within the transfer unit, and the permanent magnet adsorbs the bound matter by being inserted into the transfer unit, and re-releases the bound matter into the transfer unit by being removed from within the transfer unit.
