Rigid mount orbitor sprinkler with spider refuge
A rigid mount orbitor sprinkler assembly incorporates a deflector plate configuration that is configured for both spinning/rotating motion as well as orbital or wobbling motion around the center of a spool assembly. The sprinkler includes a spider ingress opening cooperable with a spider barrier that in combination permit inevitable spider ingress while preventing spider access or contact with certain moving parts of the sprinkler.
Sprinkler pressure regulator having a filter basket
A pressure regulator for use in a sprinkler assembly including a riser and a sprinkler basket includes an outer sleeve mounted in the riser at an inlet thereof and a pressure responsive member, movably mounted in the outer sleeve and movable from an open position allowing flow of water between the top surface of the filter basket and the bottom edge of the pressure responsive member and up the riser and a closed position where the bottom edge of the pressure responsive member contacts the top surface of the filter basket to prevent water from flowing. The pressure responsive member is biased in the open position and moves into the closed position when downstream water pressure exceeds a predetermined value.
Rotary nozzles and deflectors
Rotary nozzles and deflectors for use with rotary nozzles are provided. The deflector includes a number of flutes that deliver fluid streams radially outwardly from the deflector. Fluid striking the flutes of the deflector cause the deflector to rotate, and the flutes subdivide fluid impacting deflector into multiple fluid streams that are distributed radially outwardly to surrounding terrain as the deflector rotates. Each of the flutes have the same curvature, although they may have different inclinations to distribute fluid streams at different trajectories. The flutes may also include blocking and downward-facing features at the ends of the flutes to improve the evenness of the fluid distribution in the irrigation coverage area.
Rotary strip nozzles and deflectors
Rotary nozzles are provided that produce multiple discrete water streams for the irrigation of a substantially rectangular irrigation area. The nozzles may be designed to function as one of a left corner strip nozzle, right corner strip nozzle, and side strip nozzle. Each nozzle includes a particular type of nozzle housing with multiple flow channels oriented to irrigate a rectangular area in a certain position relative to the nozzle. The side strip nozzle includes one or more groups of two flow channels that are asymmetric with respect to one another. Further, each nozzle includes a deflector that rotates in either a clockwise or counterclockwise direction, depending on the position of the rectangular irrigation area relative to the nozzle. By matching deflector rotation with the position of the rectangular irrigation area, the uniformity of irrigation within the rectangular irrigation area can be increased.
Rigid mount orbitor sprinkler
A rigid mount orbiter sprinkler assembly incorporates a deflector plate configuration that is configured for both spinning/rotating motion as well as orbital or wobbling motion around the center of a spool assembly. The sprinkler incorporates structure to reduce drool that may fall in a concentrated area below the sprinkler and to prevent debris from sandy water or the like from accelerating sprinkler component wear. With reduced vibration, the assembly may be rigidly mounted on a center pivot or other supporting structure while achieving the advantages associated with wobbling and rotating sprinkler assemblies.
Sprinkler with radially limited nutating spool
A sprinkler head having a spool assembly for nutating within the sprinkler head. The spool assembly has a spool attached by one or more arms to a distribution disc. The sprinkler head has a nozzle configured to spray a fluid stream through a central bore of the spool onto the distribution disc, causing nutation of the spool assembly within the sprinkler head. The spool assembly is configured with two friction bands that are each configured to radially roll in or on a respective race within the sprinkler body. The friction bands can be integrally formed with the spool assembly or positioned on the spool surface.
IRRIGATION NOZZLE WITH ONE OR MORE GRIT VENTS
An irrigation nozzle is provided with a grit diversion feature to divert grit away from the interior of the nozzle. The nozzle includes a pattern template that defines the irrigation pattern produced by the nozzle. The pattern template includes one or more flow channels that may be susceptible to clogging with grit. The grit diversion feature includes one or more grit vents to redirect grit away from the interior of the nozzle and may further include an inner wall about the central hub that helps protect the central hub from intrusion by grit.
SPRINKLER WITH MODULAR COMPONENTS AND POP UP DEFLECTOR WITH LUG(S) FOR ROTATIONAL ENGAGEMENT
A sprinkler includes a pop-up deflector plate that is engageable with a brake assembly in an extended position. A brake module is secured to a sprinkler body and includes a rotatable connector coupled with the brake assembly. The pop-up deflector plate is disposed adjacent the nozzle and engages the rotatable connector in the extended position.
RIGID MOUNT ORBITOR SPRINKLER
A rigid mount orbitor sprinkler assembly incorporates a deflector plate configuration that is configured for both spinning/rotating motion as well as orbital or wobbling motion around the center of a spool assembly.
