System for watering live plants on a maneuverable rack

Examples provide a system for watering plants on a rack. A robotic device attaches to a portion of the rack and pulls or pushes the rack to a watering zone. A sprinkler device sprays water to evenly distribute water across all plants on the rack. The system determines quantity of water, duration of watering, and frequency of watering based on real-time sensor data and context data associated with the environment, historical watering data, condition of the plants on the rack and a set of customized maintenance rules based on the type of plants on the rack. When watering is complete, the robotic device returns the rack to a designated location and detaches from the rack. The robotic device then attaches to another rack having plants on it scheduled for watering. The watering schedule is updated dynamically based on changing weather and plant state.

Plasma gun diagnostics using real time voltage monitoring

Method and apparatus for monitoring and diagnosing gun performance is derived that can determine proper gun operation and if not operating properly diagnose potential causes for abhorrent operation. The voltage produced by the gun is sampled in real time and the frequency spectrum produced analyzed using FFT and then reducing the FFT pattern down to a set of numerical values or a signature that can be compared to known signatures for both correct operation and abnormal operation. Using best fit techniques the cause of any abnormal behavior can then be identified. The method can also be used to predict the end of hardware life and aid in production scheduling and spare parts acquisition by providing advanced notice of wear and usage.

FLUID SPRAY SYSTEM TIMING CONTROL

In some implementations, a controller may receive an input that indicates a proportion of a spray cycle in which a fluid spray system is to be active. The fluid spray system may include at least a first fluid pump configured to supply fluid to a first fluid spray bar and a second fluid pump configured to supply fluid to a second fluid spray bar. The controller may determine, in accordance with the proportion, a spraying timing for the first fluid pump and the second fluid pump that minimizes an overlap of an active time of the first fluid pump and an active time of the second fluid pump, and/or an overlap of an inactive time of the first fluid pump and an inactive time of the second fluid pump. The controller may cause activation of the first fluid pump and the second fluid pump in accordance with the spraying timing.

METHOD FOR EVALUATING A PUMP ACTUATION, AND FLUID DISPENSER AND EVALUATION UNIT WHICH USE THIS METHOD
20230129079 · 2023-04-27 ·

A method for evaluating the pump actuation for a pump dispenser that comprises two sub-units which can be moved manually towards one another and a pump which has a pump chamber that can be made smaller by moving the sub-units from a first end position into an actuated second end position. The force with which the sub-units are moved towards one another is detected by a force sensor during movement of the sub-units. The curve over time of the detected force is evaluated such that an increase in force is identified which is characteristic for reaching the actuated second end position. Depending on whether the increase in force was detected, a signal which is characteristic for the result is haptically, acoustically and/or visually output and/or transmitted via a wireless interface to an external display apparatus, by means of an output device.

SPRAY APPLICATION SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR APPLYING A SPRAY TREATMENT

A spray application system and a method of its operation are provided for applying a spray treatment onto a surface of an airframe of an aircraft. The spray application system includes a set of multiple modular hood units that are combinable to form a combined enclosure that defines a shared interior volume. Each modular hood unit of the set includes one or more enclosure walls. At least two airframe-interfacing edges of each modular hood unit define a portion of a spray treatment region of the airframe. At least one inter-unit-interfacing edge of each modular hood unit is configured to interface with another inter-unit-interfacing edge of a neighboring modular hood unit of the set to form at least a portion of the combined enclosure. A spray access port is defined within an enclosure wall of each modular hood unit.

High-speed system for weed control

The invention relates to a modular system for weed control for a rail vehicle. The modular system has a control unit for producing control signals for controlling valves and mixers in a separate herbicide and mixing module and for producing a second set of control signals for controlling valves of a nozzle rod. The herbicide and mixing module has a container for holding different herbicides and electrical connection elements for connections to the control unit. Furthermore, a nozzle rod is present, which is fitted with a nozzle set, in order to spray herbicides of the herbicide and mixing module. In addition, a camera module is present, which produces a weed signal in response to the detection of a weed, in order to control the spraying of the herbicides. The camera module is at such a distance from the nozzle rod that, despite high speed, there is sufficient time to provide the herbicide at the nozzles.

Nebulizer vibrating aperture plate drive frequency control and monitoring

A nebulizer has an aperture plate, a mounting, an actuator, and an aperture plate drive circuit (2-4). A controller measures an electrical drive parameter at each of a plurality of measuring points, each measuring point having a drive frequency; and based on the values of the parameter at the measuring points makes a determination of optimum drive frequency and also an end-of-dose prediction. The controller performs a short scan at regular sub-second intervals at which drive current is measured at two measuring points with different drive frequencies. According to drive parameter measurements at these points the controller determines if a full scan sweeping across a larger number of measuring points should be performed. The full scan provides the optimum drive frequency for the device and also an end of dose indication.
