Controlled warping of shadow mask tooling for improved reliability and miniturization via thin film deposition
A system and method includes pre-warping a mask to induce strain when affixed to a substrate and ensure positive contact between the mask and the substrate during all phases of deposition. A film is applied to the mask at a rate sufficient to impart stress to the film faster than such stress can be released. Depending on the features defined by the mask, the pre-warping may be concentric, linear along one axis, or complex along a plurality of axes.

An apparatus for applying masking tape to a surface is provided that includes an upper portion and a bottom portion attached to the lower portion, where the upper portion includes a pair of opposing edges separated by a top surface having a basin therein for receiving a placement pad, and a side surface having an inner plank and an outer guide plate, the lower portion includes a masking tape mount oriented relative to surfaces of the opposing edges and top for tape to be passed in a sliding arrangement from the tape mount and along the surfaces of the opposing edges and top.

A packaged film for masking an aircraft component, wherein the packaged film is configured to form a tubular sleeve when unpackaged. The packaged film is formed by performing a longitudinal telescopic folding operation on a longitudinal portion of a film to provide a longitudinally parallelogram-shaped stacked film; and performing at least a first transverse folding operation on a first portion of the longitudinally parallelogram-shaped stacked film, the first transverse folding operation comprising an operation selected from accordion folding and roll folding to provide the packaged film. The packaged film is capable of being unfolded in a reverse order of the longitudinal telescopic folding operation and the first transverse folding operation to cover said aircraft component.

Method and system for thinning wafer thereof
A method for thinning a wafer is provided. The method includes placing a wafer on a support assembly, and the support assembly includes a plurality of pin. The method includes securing an etching mask to a backside of the wafer, and the etching mask has an extending portion which covers a peripheral portion of the wafer. The etching mask has a plurality of circular bores extended along a vertical direction, and the etching mask is secured to the support assembly by connecting the circular bores and the pins. The method also includes performing a wet etching process on the backside of the wafer to foil a thinned wafer, wherein the thinned wafer has a peripheral portion with a first thickness and a central portion having a second thickness smaller than the first thickness.
METHOD FOR SELECTIVE COATING APPLICATION
A method for selective paint application to a component includes applying a photoresist masking to the component and applying a template mask to the component on top of the photoresist masking. The method includes curing at least a portion of the photoresist masking on the component, removing an uncured portion of the photoresist masking from the component, and applying at least one layer of paint to the component. The method further includes removing the photoresist masking from the component.

A mask assembly includes a mask frame including a cell opening, and an outer frame defined along a periphery of the cell opening, and a cell mask disposed on the mask frame and including a polymer material. A deposition mask in which deformation of long sides is restrained is manufactured. A manufacturing method of a deposition mask includes a step of preparing a metal plate; a processing step of processing the metal plate into an intermediate product comprising: a plurality of deposition mask portions each including a pair of long sides and a pair of short sides, and having a plurality of through-holes formed therein; and a support portion that surrounds the plurality of deposition mask portions, and is partially connected to the short sides of the plurality of deposition mask portions; and a separation step of separating the deposition mask portions from the support portion to obtain the deposition mask. In the intermediate product, the long sides of the deposition mask portions are not connected to the support portion.
