ARTICLES MADE FROM LIPOPHILIC-RICH CELLULOSIC MATERIAL AND METHODS THEREFOR
The invention relates to systems and techniques for manufacturing articles containing cellulosic material, a tackifier, and a binder, and related processes of making and using the cellulosic articles. In particularly exemplary embodiments, the manufactured articles are door skins, sometimes known as door facings, and doors made from the door skins. The article contains a lipophilic cellulosic material, a tackifier, and a binder.
Coating method for preventing bending phenomenon of substrate
The present invention relates to a coating method for preventing warpage of a substrate, and more specifically, to a coating method for preventing substrate warpage comprising forming two or more coating layers by coating the surface of a substrate with coating compositions having different densities, wherein at least one layer of the two or more coating layers is coated and cured with a coating composition containing a silsesquioxane composite polymer represented by a specific chemical formula, thereby not only preventing substrate warpage but also providing high surface hardness, excellent transparency, scratch resistance, water repellent characteristics, anti-fouling characteristics, anti-fingerprint property, thermal stability and gloss characteristics to the surface of the substrate.
INTUMESCENT FLAME RETARDANT COATING FORMULATIONS FOR MASS TIMBER SUBSTRATES
Intumescent flame-retardant formulations and their application to mass timber substrates.
Electron beam irradiation process and polymerizable stain applied to wood planking
A process utilizes electron beam generated ionizing radiation or low energy electron irradiation to effect cure of polymerizable stain compositions applied to wood planking. The electron beam ionization process generates sufficient energy to break bonds and generate new cross-links within the polymeric stain composition thus bonding the stain strongly within the pores and surface of the wood planks further creating a durable treatment. The electron beam ionization process simplifies the curing process by eliminating or reducing the need for expensive photoinitiators. Pre-stained wood planking is suitable for exterior decking materials and building panels requiring a combination of color affected and durable finishes, thereby eliminating the need for field installation of pretreatments, stains, coatings and the like. These electron beam cured wood planks take on an assortment of appearances including clear, natural, translucent, and solid hues.
Non-ablative multi-layer coatings for boat and marina structures that prevent water-derived damage, corrosion, and deterioration from biological chemical processes
Methods of protecting a submerged surface include applying an adhesion-promoting layer onto a surface. An inner polymer layer is applied onto the adhesion-promoting layer. The inner polymer layer is impregnated with a biologically active chemical substance that inhibits biofouling-induced chemical, biological, and bio-proliferative damage. An outer polymer layer is applied onto the inner polymer layer. The outer polymer layer is impregnated with a biologically active chemical substance that inhibits biofouling-induced chemical, biological, and bio-proliferative damage and that repels biofouling organisms to prevent invasion of the inner polymer layer.
Powder Coating Process and Facility
Process of powder coating a substrate (1) having at least one part of reduced thickness (5, 6), such as a raised edge. After application of a powder coating material, the substrate is heat cured. During heat curing, the substrate is locally shielded from the heat source (18) at the position of the part of reduced thickness, e.g., by means of a heat shield (2). The heat shield can for example be a perforated plate. Powder coating facility comprising an overhead conveyer with a plurality of jigs (3) for supporting such heat shields.
Glossy printing
A method for modifying the degree of gloss of a surface. The method including the steps of a) providing an object; b) applying to at least one surface of the object, a powder composition comprising a thermosetting binder; c) applying onto the at least one surface of the resulting object in b), a fluid composition; and d) applying heat and pressure to the resulting surface from c) with a press plate in a pressing device.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR FINISHING A WORKPIECE
Method and apparatus (1) for finishing (2) a workpiece preferably consisting at least in parts of wood, wood materials, plastic or the like, comprising a machining unit (10) for machining the workpiece (2), in particular for shaping and/or coating the workpiece; a patterning unit (20) for patterning, in particular printing on, a surface (2) of the workpiece; and a conveying unit (30) for inducing a relative movement between the workpiece and the machining unit (10) as well as the patterning unit (20), characterized in that a control unit (40) is provided, which is connected to the machining unit (10), the conveying unit (30) and the patterning unit (20) and is configured to control the machining unit (10), the conveying unit (30) and the patterning unit (20).
Wood treatment method
Disclosed is a method for treating a grained material. A nonlimiting example of the method includes the operations of providing a workpiece having grains, exasperating a surface of the workpiece to open the grains, applying at least one coat of a base paint to the exasperated surface, applying at least one layer of clear coat on the base paint, applying at least one of a glaze and a paint on the clear coat, and surface treating to reveal grains of the workpiece. Disclosed also are items of furniture and sheet materials treated by the aforementioned process.
DEVICE FOR MACHINING AND/OR COATING A WORKPIECE
The invention relates to a device (1) for machining a workpiece (2) which preferably consist at least in sections of wood, wood material or synthetic material and/or for coating the workpiece (2) with a coating material (4), comprising: a machining device (30, 40) for machining the workpiece (2), and a conveyor (20) for affecting a relative movement between the workpiece (2) and the machining device (30, 40), a controller for controlling the conveyor (20) and the machining device (30, 40), characterized in that the device (1) further has at least one workpiece measuring device (22) which is configured to measure at least one property of the workpiece (2), in particular a property of a surface (2) of the workpiece (2) to be machined or to be coated.
