Rotary separation apparatus and process
A rotary separation apparatus is deployed in a process for separating resinous trichomes rich in flavoring, aromatic and/or medicinal components produced in plant trichome glands from unwanted plant matter. A liquid freezing agent is introduced into a container of the plant matter to fragment the undesirable matter while the desired portion rich in trichome remain intact.

A material sorting apparatus 100 for sorting materials in a material stream comprises: a material intake means 102 for receiving material that is input to the material sorting apparatus 100; at least one screening means 103 located downstream of the material intake means 102; at least one material separation means 104-106 located downstream of the material intake means 102; at least one conveyor means 107 for conveying material along a path within, around and/or proximal to the material sorting apparatus; and an elongate support means 101 adapted for supporting the material intake means 102, the at least one screening means 103, the at least one material separation means 104-106 and the at least one conveyor means 107.
Horizontal axis rotary separation apparatus and process
A horizontal axis rotary separation apparatus is deployed in a process for separating resinous trichomes rich in flavoring, aromatic and/or medicinal components produced in plant trichome glands from unwanted plant matter. The process physically separates resin rich beads at the trichome gland head from extraneous plant matter by one or move separation sieves. The sieves are provided in or as a casing over a rigid frame member. The sieves are mesh fabric bags or screen that are easily opened and replenished in a batch operating mode, and are removable from the frame for cleaning and maintenance. Other aspects of the invention include processes that improve process efficiency and speed, and yield products of superior quality.

METHOD AND APPARATUSES FOR SCREENING
Methods and apparatuses for screening are provided. Embodiments include a screen basket apparatus for screening material, comprising a grid frame having a plurality of openings arranged in a lattice and a plurality of screening cartridge assemblies affixed to the grid frame to cover the respective openings of the grid frame. The screening cartridge assembly includes a case and a screen assembly fitted into the case, and may be affixed to a set of transversal member of the grid frame. The case may be formed of a single injection molded piece integrally formed by injection molding one of a polyurethane or a thermoset polymer. The screening elements together form a generally continuous screening surface across the exterior of the grid frame, which reduces blinding and is resistant to wear and tear.
Method and installation for treating a waste mixture, including separation and composting of said mixture
The invention concerns a method for treating a mixture of wastes (2), the latter being with heterogeneous sizes, shapes and consistencies, the treatment method being characterized in that it includes the following successive steps: Step E1 during which the mixture of wastes (2) is separated into a first fraction of wastes (13) the size of which is smaller than about 180 mm, preferably smaller than 140 mm, via a first series of separation orifices (7, 8) and into a residual second fraction of wastes (14), said first series of separation orifices (7, 8) comprising primary orifices (7) and secondary orifices (8) the size of which is larger than the size of the primary orifices (7) so that the mixture of wastes (2) is first brought into contact with the secondary orifices and then with the primary orifices (7), Step E2 during which the first fraction of wastes (13) is subjected to a composting process so as to compost, at least partially, the contained biodegradable wastes. Wastes sorting.

Screening system, eddy-current screening machine, and use of a screening system or of an eddy-current screening machine
A screening system (10) comprising at least one first substantially annular screen support (11) and a second substantially annular screen support (12); at least one pressure rod (14), which braces the screen supports (11, 12) with each other in such a manner that a compressive stress is produced between the screen supports (11, 12); at least one substantially cylindrical outer screen surface (13), which is clamped between the screen supports (11, 12); and at least one resonator (15) for the introduction of ultrasonic vibrations directly into the screen surface (13). The resonator (15) may be fastened to the screen surface (13) and essentially runs from the first screen support (11) to the second screen support (12). An eddy-current screening machine is also disclosed.
