Each time a highly-viscous substance is extruded, a variation in weight of each cut piece of the highly-viscous substance is minimized. In this case, an impulse (P) after stop is brought closer to a constant value until a load no longer acts on the metallic sodium (5) in the extruder main body (3) after stopping the movement of the pressing tool (4) by adjusting the movement speed of the pressing tool (4).

A tube or metal extrusion press has a stationary press frame formed by a main housing, a counter housing, a billet support carrying a billet holder, and a ram cross-member movable in the press frame between the housings. A piston-cylinder unit has a cylinder on the main housing, a piston in the cylinder, and a ram stem extending between a front end of the piston and the ram cross-member. An equalizing reservoir supplies hydraulic fluid to the piston, and a transfer passage extends between the reservoir and the cylinder rearward of the piston. A fill valve has a displacement sleeve on a rod and carries a ring piston and a fill valve body movable centrally of the cylinder in the transfer passage between an open position in which the passage has a large annular flow cross-section and a closed position in which the valve body blocks the passage.

An extrusion method using an extrusion press including an end platen to which a pressure ring is provided, a die, a container, a drive part for movement of the container, and a main cylinder device having an extrusion stem to form a billet into a shape includes extruding the billet loaded in the container by the extrusion stem from the die to shape it to an extruded material, releasing sealing pressure from the die, cutting the billet between the die and the container and between the die and the pressure ring by moving the die, and resuming shaping of extruded materials by the billet remaining inside the container.

METHOD OF PRODUCTION OF HIGH-PRESSURE SEAMLESS CYLINDER FROM CORROSION-RESISTANT STEEL

Blank of corrosion-resistant steel is coated with coating of water glass with thickness of 20 to 150 m, cured at 15 to 60 C., and heated in an induction furnace to the temperature of 1180 C. to 1260 C. The heated up blank is without cooling by water descaling transferred into an extrusion press and extruded here, while the coating is broken to pieces and largely removed. Drawing in a horizontal drawing press and necking are performed. After forming to the final shape of the cylinder, leftovers of coating are removed by pressure blasting. A corrosion-resistant thin-walled seamless high-pressure cylinder with volume of 5 to 260 litres is manufactured.

An extrusion press including a ram having a ram body configured for movement along a ram axis, and a compaction container defining a compaction compartment and having a compaction container axis. The compaction container is rotatable between a first orientation wherein the compaction container axis is not aligned with the ram axis and a second orientation wherein the compaction container axis is aligned with the ram axis such that the ram body is movable into the compaction compartment.
