A crankshaft that can be strengthened in a short time without being subjected to wasteful processing, and that can be strengthened over a wide range. The crankshaft includes a crank pin and a fillet portion of a journal pin. Compressive residual stress is applied to a region on the fillet portion, which extends at almost equal distances to both sides in a circumferential direction from a portion in which the greatest bending load is applied, and a processing depth for applying the compressive residual stress is gradually decreased in a circumferential direction from the center position in which the compressive residual stress is greatest.

A system for repairing dents in a wind turbine tower section may generally include a dent repair tool having a tool hub and a plurality of arms configured to extend radially outwardly from the tool hub towards an inner surface of the tower section. The tool may also include a linear actuator configured to linearly actuate a plunger of the actuator arm relative to the tool hub such that the plunger applies a radially outward force against the inner surface of the tower section at or adjacent to a location of a dent formed in the tower section. In addition, the system may include a load sensor configured to provide an indication of a load associated with the radially outward force applied against the inner surface of the tower section by the plunger and a controller configured to monitor the load based on signals received from the load sensor.

The present disclosure is directed to an improved system and method for repairing a bend in a turbine blade of a turbine of a gas turbine engine. The system includes an articulating guide configured to fit into an access port of the turbine. The articulating guide includes a proximal end and a distal end. The system also includes a repair tool configured at the distal end of the articulating guide. Further, the repair tool is configured to fit over the turbine blade. Thus, the repair tool is configured to bend the turbine blade to an unbent position while the turbine blade is secured within the turbine.

A method for of aligning a vehicle includes the steps of: supporting a first portion (19A, 19B) of the vehicle, deforming the vehicle by applying a force to a second portion (5) of the vehicle, positioning at least one motion sensing measuring unit (9A, 9B) including at least one accelerometer on the supported first portion (19A, 19B) of the vehicle before the deforming step, and tracking any movements of the supported first portion (19A, 19B) of the vehicle during the deformation by means of the motion sensing measuring unit (9A, 9B). An arrangement for aligning a vehicle is also provided.
