Press-forming method, method of manufacturing component with the press-forming method and component manufactured with the press-forming method
A press-forming method for a component having a hat-shaped or U-shaped cross section and comprising a curved portion curved in a widthwise direction along with a longitudinal direction and straight side portions connecting to both ends of the curved portion from a sheet-shaped blank, wherein the blank is drawn to a hat-shaped or U-shaped cross section through a hat-shaped cross-sectional form having a top portion, vertical wall portions connecting at their upper end parts to both end parts of the top portion through fillet portions, and flange portions connecting at their internal end parts to the lower end parts of the vertical wall portions through fillet portions, and a material movement in the flange portion of the curved portion is caused in the drawing to mitigate tensile deformation or compression deformation in the circumferential direction generated in the flange portion of the curved portion.
Method for producing press-formed product
A production method includes a placement step, a first pressing step, and a second pressing step. In the placement step, a blank plate is placed in press tooling. In the first pressing step, the blank plate is caused to undergo bend forming in such a way that concave ridges, a concave area, and areas of concave-correspondence vertical wall areas that are areas adjacent to the concave ridges are formed in the blank plate. In the second pressing step, the resultant plate is caused to undergo draw forming in such a way that convex ridges, a convex area, areas of convex-correspondence vertical wall areas that are areas adjacent to the convex ridges are formed in the resultant plate.
DRAW-IN CONTROL FOR SHEET DRAWING
A method of forming a finished stamped product includes positioning a blank on a blank holder between an upper die and a lower die, inserting a movable wedge block between the blank holder and the upper die to establish a first binder gap, and while the movable wedge block is inserted, performing a first strike of the blank by lowering the upper die a first distance to contact and partially form the blank, the movable wedge block limiting downward movement of the upper die relative to the lower die. After the first strike, withdrawing the movable wedge block to establish a second binder gap between the blank holder and the upper die, and while the movable wedge block is withdrawn, performing a second strike of the blank by lowering the upper die a second distance to finally form the blank into the finished product.
FLANGE PROJECTION CONTROL SYSTEM AND METHOD
Embodiments provide a tooling station for forming containers that includes a blank and draw punch configured to blank off a portion of stock from a stock element and draw the portion of stock to form a cup. The blank and draw punch includes a blank and draw punch curved edge disposed between a blank and draw punch inner circumferential wall and a blank and draw punch proximal surface. The blank and draw punch curved edge has a radius of curvature that varies along its circumference. The tooling station also includes a draw-redraw die configured to redraw the cup to form a can having a flange. The draw redraw die includes a draw-redraw die curved edge disposed between a draw-redraw die inner circumferential wall and a draw-redraw die proximal surface. The draw-redraw die curved edge has a radius of curvature that varies along its circumference.
PRESS FORMED PRODUCT, AUTOMOBILE STRUCTURAL MEMBER WITH THE PRESS FORMED PRODUCT, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING PRESS FORMED PRODUCT
Disclosed is a press formed product which is formed from a single steel sheet. The press formed product includes two vertical wall portions, a top plate portion which connects two vertical wall portions with each other, and a projecting portion which projects from at least one boundary portion of two boundary portions each of which connects the vertical wall portion and the top plate portion with each other. In the projecting portion, a steel sheet extending from the vertical wall portion and a steel sheet extending from the top plate portion project from the boundary portion so as to overlap at an overlapping portion located at least at a distal end of the projecting portion. The projecting portion is present at least at a portion of the press formed product in a longitudinal direction. An angle formed between the top plate portion and the overlapping portion is larger than 180.
Press forming method and vehicle component
Disclosed is a press forming method press forming a workpiece between a die and a punch, while pushing the punch into the die by means of a relative motion of the die and the punch, the method includes: producing an intermediate molding (100B) having ridges (100d) formed in predetermined parts of the workpiece, and then press forming the intermediate molding (100B) into a final shape, to thereby substantially thicken and work-harden the predetermined parts of the workpiece.
Container, and selectively formed cup, tooling and associated method for providing same
A container, such as a beverage or food can is provided, which includes a first sidewall, a second sidewall and a bottom portion extending between the first and second sidewalls. The material of the bottom portion is stretched relative to the first sidewall and the second sidewall to form a thinned preselected profile, such as a dome. The material of the container at or about the dome has a substantially uniform thickness. The container is formed from a blank of material, which has a base gauge prior to being formed. After being formed, the blank of material of the container at or about the dome has a thickness less than the base gauge. Tooling having a clamp bead, or a progressive clamp bead, for selectively forming a blank of material into a container, as well as an associated method are also disclosed.
Method for manufacturing press-formed article, press-formed article, and press-forming apparatus
A method for manufacturing a press-formed article (100) includes a first step for forming a base sheet portion, a first rising portion, and a first strip portion from a sheet-shaped workpiece having a first edge portion and a second edge portion; and a second step for forming a second rising portion by causing a strip-shaped first zone including the second edge portion to be disposed between a first upper die and a first lower die from both sides, causing a second zone adjacent to the first zone to be disposed between a second upper die and a second lower die from both sides, and moving the first upper die and the first lower die relative to the second upper die and the second lower die, wherein, in the second step, a part of the second rising portion which is connected to a vertical ridge line (108) is shear-deformed.
METHOD OF MANUFACTURING MOLDED MATERIAL, AND SAID MOLDED MATERIAL
The present invention provides a method for manufacturing a molded member by carrying out a multi-stage drawing process and at least one finishing ironing process on a base metal sheet, the molded member comprising: a tubular body; and a flange formed at an end portion of the body, wherein the multi-stage drawing process comprises: a preliminary drawing process for forming a preliminary body having a body element from the base metal sheet; and a plurality of compression drawing processes performed after the preliminary drawing process, the compression drawing processes drawing the body element while applying compressive force along a depth direction of the body element to a circumferential wall of the body element; and wherein the at least one finishing ironing process is carried out such that a mold clearance of an upper portion of the body element is narrower than a mold clearance of a lower portion of the body element.
