Pivoting ganging arms for chairs

A chair includes a frame having a plurality of legs, a seat coupled to the frame that includes a seating surface and opposing side edges, and at least one ganging arm. The ganging arm is configured to pivot about a pivot axis into and between an operative position in which the ganging arm extends laterally from one of the opposing side edges and a storage position in which the ganging arm is beneath the seat. In one embodiment, the chair includes a pair of ganging arm, where a first ganging arm includes a male ganging end and the second ganging arm includes a female ganging end. Each of the ganging arms is mounted for rotation about a mounting device attached to the frame of the chair.

20190191882 · 2019-06-27 ·

A chair suitable for disassembly and a shipping method for the disassembled chair, which arranges chair parts of multiple chairs in one container and saves shipping cost. The disassembled chair has at least a backrest porting and a seat portion with extending legs, each of which has multiple connecting holes allowing them to be connected by mechanical fastener, such as rivets or screws. The seat portions of multiple chairs can be inverted and stacked within each other and multiple backrests can be located above the stacked seats between their legs, all within a single container so that the shipping and storing costs are lower.

Chair (10, 100) with a seat section (14, 104), an underframe (12, 102) which supports seat section (14), and a seat back (16, 106), in which the seat back (16, 106) is mounted on underframe (12, 102) such that it may be pivoted around a rear transverse axis (26, 120) oriented crosswise to chair (10, 100), and seat section (14, 104) is at least partially deformable and is supported or reinforced by at least one stiff supporting element (28, 122) extending from the bottom end of seat back (16, 106) in the direction of seat section (14, 104) and being rigidly connected with seat back (16, 106), such that when a pivoting movement of seat back (16, 106) occurs, a portion of seat section (14, 104) positioned in front of the end of supporting element (28, 122) is raised or lowered depending on the direction of pivoting.

ADAPTABLE SEAT

An adaptable seat includes a frame, a backrest member and a seat member. The backrest member is rotatably connected to the frame about a rotation axis, and the seat member comprises a sliding mechanism which includes at least one linear guide which connects the seat member to the frame and allows said seat member to move along a sliding axis. The adaptable seat also includes a connection mechanism which connects the backrest member to the seat member and includes a male element and a female element which are formed on the seat member and the backrest member, respectively, or vice versa, and which are capable of mutual engagement in such a manner as to convert a rotation of the backrest member into a sliding action of the seat member, and vice versa.

Configurable stacking chairs with quick-connect interchangeable backs

The present disclosure relates to configurable stacking chairs having a standard seat base frame design to which different interchangeable seat backs can be quickly and easily attached. The seat base frames and the interchangeable seat backs may include corresponding quick-connect features that allow selective attachment therebetween. The interchangeable seat backs may be attached to a standard seat base frame via a magnetic connection. Each interchangeable seat back can have a different unique design allowing for a quick change of appearance by exchanging one interchangeable seat back design for another. The interchangeable seat backs and the standard seat base frames can be stored separately and take up less space than completely assembled or fixed back chairs.
